30,000 Food and Drink lovers take over the Chester Racecourse, right in the heart of the city, at the Taste Cheshire Food and Drink Festival every Easter. It is the biggest event of its type to take place anywhere in the UK. Over 150 exhibitors highlight the best the county, region and country has to offer and means that for you, the visitor it is simply a wonderful culinary experience. Chefs who are sure to inspire us with their knowledge, skills and creativity. Tickets are now available for our ever popular CamperFest that sees over 1500 people camping on the racecourse, with 700 people having signed up to come again in the first week of tickets being released. It promises to be another bumper Chester event with the economic impact estimated by Manchester University being in excess of £2.4 million to the local economy. Chester Racecourse, the only racecourse set in the heart of a city, is the perfect location for this fun filled family event and with children under 12 free and adults pre-paying just £6 (HALF PRICE) for tickets in December, there is no better value family day out. The Sausage

Competition is Back

For those of you who don’t know, Local sausage producers are all revved up and ready to enter the Taste Cheshire Sausage Competition 2022. Entries are submitted in both the plain and flavoured categories and the initial judging will take place by a panel of sausage experts on 22nd February at the NOWFood Centre, Part of the University of Chester. Who will win this year? The wonderful thing is none of us know, the decision is made exactly as it should be, by YOU! The public decide. The final 6 sausages will be judged on Easter Sunday at the Taste Cheshire Food and Drink festival at 11.00am. The first forty people who arrive will be given judging sheets and their decisions, based on appearance, texture and taste will see the crowning of this year’s champions. Whatever the outcome we know Cheshire makes outstanding sausages and every year they seem to get better and better. Our sausage makers strive for the perfect sausage of that there is no doubt.
