CHILDREN'S COOKERY SCHOOL Our hugely popular Children’s Cookery School & Food Science Lab is back this year and it’s bigger and better than ever before with EXTRA sessions. It’s a fantastic opportunity for children to get involved with food and cooking – and all the sessions are FREE! 11:00am - 12:00pm Tantalising Taste Buds We'll learn about the 5 tastes, investigate the difference between 'taste' and 'flavour' and use what we've learned to make a Chinese noodle salad (yum)! 1:00 - 2:00pm Marvellous Microbes We learn about micro-organisms, and how they can be good as well as bad for us in cooking when we create our own pickled vegetables. 2:30 - 3:30pm Eating With Our Eyes & Ears! Can crunching a packet of crisps in our ear whilst eating a yoghurt affect the way we eat? Does a blue plate make our food taste more salty? We’ll be trying to answer these and other questions before a couscous salad to take home and eat. 4:00 - 5:00pm Fizz! Bang! Wallop! We discover how CO2 makes dough rise as we create bread bubble bombs, carbon dioxide rockets and make a scrumptious bread roll and homemade butter to take home and cook. All sessions will be led by a team of expert cooks and aprons will be provided.
LIVE MUSIC MOLD TOWN CONCERT BAND Saturday • 10:00 The band was originally formed as the Argoed Concert Band in 1997. Adopted by Mold Town Council in 1999 we became Mold Town Band. Animal chats: These are a quieter chance to meet our Zoo Rangers and ask all of your questions about our animals. Look out for our friendly team and pop over to say hello. Drop-in ‘Discover’ activities: How much do you know about Elephants and chillies? And have you ever heard of a Jungle Nymph? Our drop-in ‘Discover’ sessions are the perfect chance for all ages to get up-close to some amazing animals and objects and to chat to our Zoo Rangers about the latest conservation updates from the field. Drop-in ‘Science at the Zoo’ activities: Do you know what an endocrinologist does? And have you ever helped to design a Komodo Dragon’s habitat? We have a dedicated Science team at the zoo and employ the latest research techniques to make sure that our animals are happy and healthy. Explore why science is so

Just so you know, sometimes we might change our talks and activities because of animal needs or the weather. All of these events are FREE to attend and we have different ones on different days, so be sure to check the schedule on our Chester Zoo app or inside the zoo. If you have any additional requirements, just speak to our Zoo Ranger team who will be happy to help.

Ten family-friendly Spanish resorts Tossa de Mar
This Costa Brava resort is an established hit with families. There’s enough to do day and night yet the atmosphere remains relaxed rather than in your face. And its beaches are more on the mild than wild side, despite being located on Spain’s famously rugged coast.
Moraira
Keep your littler ones out of your hair with a day trip to Aqualandia, the Mundomar Marine Park, or Terra Mitíca theme park in nearby Benidorm. Alternatively, take things easier in this chilled, yet rarely chilly, Costa Blanca resort. What was once a bustling fishing village has Moraira become an easyon-the eye tourist destination, with its picturepostcard setting of pine-clad mountains rolling down to turquoise water.
Puerto de la Cruz
Think of Tenerife and you might well conjure up images of brightly-lit discos and beaches thronged with partying youngsters. Where it seems to be one long half-term break. Not so in northern Puerto de la Cruz which is less manic than the sexy southern resorts of Las Américas and Los Cristianos, but which still offers fun-for-all-the-family attractions in Loro Parque and the Lago Martianez water park.
Costa Teguise
Another Canary Island, another family-friendly holiday destination. This time it’s Lanzarote and Costa Teguise. More restrained than livelier Puerto del Carmen, there’s nothing grotty about a resort which grew up under the watchful eye of César Manrique, an architect/artist, who ensured it didn’t become overdeveloped.
Puerto de Mogán
César Manrique, no lover of multi-storey buildings, would approve of the low-level charm of Puerto de Mogán, on the neighbouring island of Gran Canaria. Although designed by Malaga-born Rafael Neville, there are plenty of Manriquelike touches. Especially the bougainvillea-clad whitewashed properties. Playa del Inglés, it isn’t.
Tossa de Mar

Port de
Calella de Palafrugell
A classy Catalan resort which remains blissfully underdeveloped, Calella de Palafrugell is very much the unspoilt Costa Brava. From sandy beaches to hidden coves which wouldn’t look out of place on the pages of Treasure Island, you and your family won’t tire of discovering this area’s various nook and crannies. And all reached in under an hour from Girona airport.
Aigua Blava
Close to Calella de Palafrugell, heading in the direction of Begur, you’ll find the equally beguiling resort of Aigua Blava. Its small beach becomes busier in summer, but not unbearably so. This is the less commercial part of the Costa Brava, after all.
Port de Pollença
Hit the north of Mallorca for the laidback Port de Pollença, the very antithesis of Magaluf, the island’s wild west. The beaches slope gently down to the sea here which is perfect
Aigua Blava
for younger members of the family who haven’t shed their water wings yet. Keep an eye out for cycling hero Bradley Wiggins who loves to holiday in the area with his family.
Portinatx
Twentysomething kilometres, just over a 30-minute drive. That’s all that separates Ibiza’s Portinatx from the party island’s infamous San Antonio. However, they might as well be located in another time zone, for whilst the former is all fiesta fiesta, no time for siesta, the latter is a place where any time of the day seems a perfect excuse for a gentle snooze.
Corralejo
The beauty of Fuerteventura’s Corralejo is that you can visit all year round, whether it be for a short Christmas break or longer summer holiday. Even the most energetic children will tire after a day spent playing in the great outdoors of beaches backing onto Atlantic surf. Which will ensure a peaceful evening for you, at the very least.

How to choose the ideal garden room A garden room is a great way to give your home a new lease of life. If you’re craving extra space at home and have the ability and budget to extend out into your garden, go for it! A stunning outdoor room can dramatically improve the look and feel of your home, providing a tranquil bolt hole from day-to-day life. It also has the potential to add value to your property.
Create a classic hardwood conservatory
An extra room looking onto the garden is a traditional choice for many country homes. Painted hardwood is popular and has benefits over other materials such as aluminium. Hardwood will last for years with little more maintenance than repainting.

According to Nationwide Building Society, a modern extension on the ground floor can increase your property’s value by around 5%, while adding a bedroom to create a three-bed house will add about 12% to the potential asking price. When planning an extension, design rooms to be as big as possible, but without sacrificing too much of the garden or outdoor area – this can make a property feel out of balance and deter buyers. Check with the local planning office to see if you need permission to carry out building work. All home improvements on this scale must also comply with Building Regulations and be inspected and passed at key stages.
Plan a loft conversion
A loft conversion is the most cost-effective way to gain extra living space and you should be able to do it if your home was built before 1975 and/or the loft has a maximum headroom of 2.3m. Work on converting an attic costs from around £20,000 – although on average a dormer loft conversion with a double bedroom and en-suite bathroom is more likely to be in the region of £3545k – and takes about six to 12 weeks to complete. This configuration is the most popular option and, according to Nationwide Building Society, it could add an estimated 21% to the value of your home. Remember, take professional advice before you start to plan your loft conversion because it must meet building and fire regulations.
Maximise on space with a lean-to conservatory
This is a popular style for homes with limited space. A lean-to is particularly common for period terraces as they make the most of the space at the side of a house. Take advantage of the ‘side return’ space at the back of a Victorian or Edwardian terraced house to create a long, narrow leanto-style conservatory.

at Warrington Parr Hall on Friday August 24th, 2018 Damned’, and tour the United States. They have nine singles that charted on the UK Singles Chart Top 40, releasing a series of singles leading up to 1979’s Machine Gun Etiquette, which featured a strong 1960s garage rock influence, establishing a fast, melodic style. From the beginning, Vanian affected a vampire-like appearance onstage, with chalk-white makeup and formal dress. After Captain Sensible’s departure, Vanian’s Gothic influence took over unimpeded and his smart crooning and spooky theatricality ended up more or less founding goth rock inadvertently.
Formed in 1976 by lead vocalist Dave Vanian, guitarist Brian James, bassist (and later guitarist) Captain Sensible, and drummer Rat Scabies, the Damned played their first gig supporting The Sex Pistols at the 100 Club and were the first of the London punk bands to release a single, ‘New Rose’, on the independent record label Stiff Records.
Sensible re-joined Vanian in 1996 and yet another incarnation of The Damned appeared, featuring bassist Patricia Morrison, previously of The Sisters of Mercy. In 2006, The Damned released the new single “Little Miss Disaster”, and the live DVD MGE25 documenting the 25th anniversary of Machine Gun Etiquette. To be in with a chance of winning the tickets, answer the following question:

Recipe of the month
Lamb, apricot & shallot tagine Adapted from the Moroccan roast lamb fish ‘mechoui’, this slow-cooked dish has an aromatic marinade and irresistably fruity sauce.
Ingredients 1 large leg of lamb, bone in (about 2kg) | 600g shallot, halved if particularly large | 400g small apricot, halved and stoned | 85g whole skinless almond | 2 preserved lemons, flesh discarded, peel and pith finely chopped | 1 tbsp ras el hanout | 1 tbsp clear honey | 150ml hot chicken stock | small pack coriander, leaves picked | couscous and natural yoghurt, to serve.
For the marinade: 4 tbsp olive oil | 4 garlic cloves, crushed | 1 tbsp ground cumin | 2 tbsp clear honey | 2 tsp ground cinnamon | 2 tsp ground ginger | 2 tsp coriander seed | pinch of saffron.
Method
1. Slash the lamb leg all over and put in a big food bag, or
in a large casserole dish. Smash the marinade ingredients together using a pestle and mortar. Add some black pepper and rub all over the lamb. Marinate overnight, or up to 24 hrs. 2. Heat oven to 140C/120C fan/gas 1. Sit the lamb in a big roasting tin, scraping off any leftover marinade on the top. Cover the tin with foil, pinching the edges to seal. Cook for 6-7 hrs, basting every hour or so until the meat is incredibly tender. 3. Put the cherries, sugar and kirsch in a pan over a low heat. When the sugar has melted, increase the heat a little and cook for 5-10 minutes until the cherries start to break

down. Whizz in a food processor and press through a sieve, back into the pan. You should have approximately 650700ml juice – top up with water if you don’t have enough.
4. Remove the roasting tin from the oven and increase oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Pour the juices from the lamb into a measuring jug, cool slightly and skim off the fat. Put the shallots in the tin with the lamb and toss to coat in some of the juices. Roast for 15 mins, then add the apricots and almonds. Whisk the cooking juices with the lemon, ras el hanout, honey and stock then pour over the lamb and roast for another 20 mins. 5. Rest for 10 mins, then scatter over the herbs and serve with couscous and yoghurt.

The new BMW X4: Have your cake and eat it
B
MW will not be deflected from its coupe-SUV course. Having created the divisive breed with the ‘distinctive’ X6 in 2008, its smaller, X3-based X4 was launched in 2014 before any of its rivals had even joined the party. At the time of writing, only Mercedes has deigned to go down the same route, with its X4-rivalling GLC Coupe and X6-analogue GLE Coupe models. Almost all the five global launch variants of the X4 will have four-cylinder turbocharged engines, eight-speed Steptronic automatic gearboxes and a reworked xDrive four-wheel-drive system, but there’s a solitary six-pot in the range and it’s coming to the UK: furthermore, it’s the sole M Performance derivative (for now…), badged the M40d. Packing a twin-turbo 3.0-litre diesel, it delivers 322bhp with a colossal 502lb ft backing it up, which results in one seriously quick SUV.
5454
Is it just another X3 with less rear headroom?
Hardly. BMW says it has taken the M Sport suspension of the X4’s closely-related third-gen X3 stablemate and then tweaked it to accommodate the coupe model’s lower ride height and sportier intent. Further, its centre-of-gravity is lower than the X3’s, it has a 30mm wider rear track than the old X4’s, there’s an M Sport differential on the trailing axle. Moving inside, the X4 is slightly larger in all the dimensions that matter, with an additional 54mm in the wheelbase resulting in 27mm of extra legroom for those seated in the rear. The 525-litre boot is also useful and it’s accessed by an electrically-powered tailgate as standard, while the rear seats split 40:20:40 to maintain as much SUV practicality as that sloping roofline will allow. And the looks? Well… we kind of like them. Only the most fervent coupe-SUV haters could argue that it’s ugly, while there’s a real appeal to the smoothed-off rear end of the BMW. Obviously, M Performance 21-inch alloys, the beefed-up bodywork and the lustrous Flamenco Red metallic paint help, but we’re inclined to say this is the most handsome coupe-SUV we’ve yet seen.

Do I have to have diesel for M Performance? Nope, an M40i with a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six petrol – delivering 355bhp and 369lb ft – is on the way later this year. However, there’s no reason to overlook the M40d, because it’s a superb performance SUV, which blends together a deft chassis, a thumping drivetrain and a veneer of top-level civility. It’s not without faults; the ride on the 21s, with the adaptive dampers in Comfort, is occasionally on the lumpier side of smooth and the steering is needlessly heavy in Sport and Sport+ modes, while the engine doesn’t like to rev – no turbodiesel does, but if you’ve sampled an X4 M40i, the derv-burner’s reluctance to spin up will frustrate you. However, the steering, in general, is utterly faithful and super-precise. Body roll is remarkably quelled and – if you turn off all the electronic traction aids – the rear-biased xDrive and the M diff will allow you to punch the X4 into mild oversteer on the exit of tighter bends. Not tyresmoking drifts, mind, just a serene amount of slip with a tiny snifter of correctional opposite lock. Wonderful. Driven more sedately, you can appreciate the SUV’s slippery aerodynamic properties, as they help contribute to a cabin that is eminently hushed. With lower revs on the dial, you’ll be hard-pressed to hear anything from the engine and
so it’s left to the tyres to aurally keep you informed of the BMW’s forward momentum.
BMW X4 M40d: the verdict
The BMW X4 M40d is a prime example of ‘have your cake and eat it too’. It’s fast but frugal, practical yet aesthetically stylish – and, sometimes, trying to cram a load of conflicting characteristics into one product can lead to a severely compromised result. But to drive the new X4 is to love it. As SUVs go, no matter what their exterior shape, this BMW is one of the most rewarding to steer.

Fitness Matters The best fat-blasting exercises I
f you’re looking to shed some unwanted pounds, take a look at the following fat burning exercises which (when combined with a healthy diet) will help you to achieve the body of your dreams.
Run just below your lactate threshold
Heavy lifting The real fat burning benefits of introducing heavy lifting to your training come after your workout has finished. This is because your metabolism is raised in the hours following the exercise as your body burns calories to repair muscles. Remember to only lift weights that you are comfortable with, as anything too heavy can cause you to sacrifice your form and therefore leave you susceptible to injury.
Train with kettlebells Introducing weights such as kettlebells into your workouts is another excellent way to see fat burning results. Training with kettlebells helps you to tone up your problem areas and therefore burn fat (as the more muscle mass a person has, the more calories they burn.) The aerobic nature of kettlebell exercises also helps to blast fat by raising your heart rate. Many gyms offer kettlercise classes or alternatively you could follow along at home with an online tutorial.
The plank As well as being a great core exercise, the plank also causes your body
to use calories, therefore making it a great exercise to burn fat. To increase the difficulty of the exercise, you can also extend your body from the plank position into the press-up position and extend one arm out in front of you. Then repeat with the opposite hand, return to the plank position and complete the sequence again.
Skipping A firm favorite of boxers, skipping is a high intensity, aerobic exercise that is fantastic for fat burning. It will raise your metabolism and keep your body burning fat after your workout has ended. Skipping will help your body burn more calories over a prolonged period of time in comparison to a less intense aerobic exercise, therefore making it one of the best fatburning exercises.
According to a recentlypublished report, relatively unfit men burn more fat when they run just below their lactate threshold in comparison to athletes who are much fitter. To introduce this principle into your own training, warm up and begin to jog, then pick up your speed every few minutes until your muscles begin to burn and it becomes difficult for you to breathe. Once you have found your lactate threshold, slow your pace again and run just below this speed to gain optimal fat burning benefits.
Burpees This full body workout is one of the best fat burning exercises around. Done correctly, burpees are a high intensity exercise and will raise your heart rate in no time at all. You can reap fat burning rewards in the hours after your workout as burpees raise your metabolism, causing the body to burn calories when recovering. They can also help you shed abdominal fat (a problem area for many people) by engaging the core during the course of the exercise.
Health Matters
Why your office job doesn’t need to be unhealthy
J
ust because you’re at work all day doesn’t mean you can’t stay slim and fit. You just need to implement some simple lifestyle and work habit changes. So here’s our recipe for staying in shape while working in an office:
Eat breakfast
This is a cornerstone of a healthy lifestyle. A wholesome breakfast can provide you with the energy you need to get through the first half of the day, and it will help prevent you from consuming junk food.
Cut out sugary snacks
They’re everywhere in offices! Real villains. Yes, they can be tempting, but they don’t satisfy your true hunger and are digested quickly, leading to a rollercoaster of sugar highs and lows. Instead of visiting the vending machine, bring snacks from home such as baby carrots, cheese sticks, nuts, hummus, cucumber
slices, whole or sliced fresh fruit, small amounts of dried fruit or savoury crackers. If you really can’t survive a sleepy afternoon in the office, try a piece of dark chocolate.
Bring your own lunch
Restaurant meals often include large portions and high-calorie choices. You can eat healthier and spend much less money if you prepare your own lunch.
Avoid sugary drinks
They can help you stay awake while working and you may like their taste, but they really don’t do anything for you and are full of empty calories in the form of sugar. If you need the caffeine, consider coffee or green tea.
Drink lots of water
It’s good for you, and it will keep your mind off sugary drinks or coffee. It may help you fight off other cravings too. Sleepiness is often caused by dehydration, so keep yourself well hydrated. For flavour, put lime, lemon or cucumber slices into your water bottle.
Move around as much as possible Walk around the office and stretch every now and then. Take breaks every hour or so and move your body. Move while waiting for programmes on the computer to load. If you need to discuss something with your colleague, go to his or her desk instead of making a phone call or sending an email. If you need to go to another floor in the building, take the stairs instead of the lift.
Stand as much as you can
This is healthier than sitting. It’s better for your back, and burns more calories. Or switch your chair for an exercise ball. This will work your abs and balance.
Get enough sleep
Waking up refreshed and strong in the morning will help prevent binging and caffeine cravings later in the day. It will also help keep lethargy at bay.

1947 1883: Krakatoa erupts
On 7th August the rumbling volcano of Krakatoa in south western Indonesia erupted, destroying most of the island. Krakatoa spewed out more than 25 cubic km of rock, ash and pumice in one of the most violent volcanic events of all time. The official death toll was 36,417, with many more injured, mostly by the resulting tsunamis.
1945: Hiroshima
On 6th August at 8:15am the United States dropped an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima, killing around 140,000 people and injuring thousands more. Three days later the United States dropped a second atomic bomb on Nagasaki, killing a further 74,000 people. The two atomic bombs – to date the only nuclear weapons used in a war – resulted in Japan’s surrender, announced on 15th August, which officially brought to an end World War Two.
1588: Battle of the Armada In August 1588 Spain’s “invincible fleet” - the largest of its age with more than 130 ships and over 30,000 soldiers - attempted to invade and conquer England and was defeated by an English fleet led by Admiral Charles Howard and Vice-Admiral Francis
Drake. After engaging in a huge battle at Gravelines, off the north coast of France, the Spanish tried to retreat but were boxed in and forced out towards the Irish coast, where heavy storms destroyed much of the fleet.
1962: Marilyn Monroe dies On 5th August Marilyn Monroe died at age 36 from an overdose of sleeping pills. She made 29 films during her career and came to symbolize Hollywood glamour. In the following decades several conspiracy theories, including murder, have been put forward as the cause of Monroe’s death. A fresh investigation in 1982, however, failed to uncover any evidence of foul play.
1947: Indian independence
At midnight on 15th August 1947, India became an independent nation. Although there had been uprisings against colonial rule for more than 400 years, it was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, commonly known as Mahatma Gandhi, who is widely credited with leading India towards independence, pioneering a policy of non-cooperation and non-violent resistance.
1990: Iraq invades Kuwait
The Iraqi army invaded Kuwait on 2nd August amid claims that Kuwait threatened Iraq’s economic existence
by overproducing oil and driving prices down on the world market. An Iraqi military government was then installed in Kuwait which was annexed by Iraq on the claim that Kuwait was historically part of Iraq. This resulted in Desert Shield, the massive Allied military buildup, and later the 100hour war against Iraq, Desert Storm.
1961: The Berlin Wall
On 13th August The Berlin Wall came into existence after the East German government closed the border between the east and west sectors of Berlin with barbed wire to discourage emigration to the West. The barbed wire was replaced by a 12 foot-high concrete wall eventually extending 103 miles (166 km) and became a notorious symbol of the Cold War.
1997: Death of Diana
Princess Diana died at age 36 on 31st August from massive internal injuries suffered in a high-speed car crash, reportedly after being pursued by photographers. The crash occurred shortly after midnight in Paris inside a tunnel along the Seine River at the Pont de l’Alma bridge, less than half a mile north of the Eiffel Tower. Also killed in the crash were Diana’s companion, Dodi Fayed and chauffeur Henri Paul.

Gardening tips
Gardening tasks for August In the flower garden
● Keep your Camellias and Rhododendrons well watered at this time of year to ensure that next year’s buds develop. ● Keep patio container plants well watered and feed with a liquid fertiliser every fortnight. ● Dead-head bedding plants and perennial plants to stop them self-seeding and to encourage further flowering into the autumn. ● Cut back faded perennials to keep borders tidy. ● Dead-head Lilies for a better flower display next year. ● Cut back herbs now to encourage a new flush of tasty leaves you can harvest before the frost. ● Prune summer flowering shrubs once they have finished blooming. ● Prune your Wisteria after flowering by removing all the whippy side-shoots from the main branch framework to about 20cm from their base (about five leaves from the main stem). ● Collect ripened seed and store for next year. Leaving some seed heads in place can be attractive and allows the plant to self-seed in the surrounding soil. ● Take cuttings of your favourite tender perennials such as pelargoniums and fuchsia to propagate them for next year. ● Look out for symptoms of Clematis Wilt such as wilting leaves and black discolouration on the leaves and stems of your Clematis. Cut out any infected plant material and dispose of it in your household waste.
In the vegetable garden ● Water your vegetable plants and fruit plants daily in warm weather. ● Apply a high-potash fertiliser such as tomato food once fruits start to form on peppers, cucumber and aubergines. ● Continue to feed tomato plants with a tomato fertiliser and remove leaves lower down on the plant to help with air cirulation and prevent disease. ● Pinch out the top of tomato plants to concentrate the growth into the fruit that has already formed. Aim to leave 5 or 6 trusses of fruit per plant. ● Cut back herbs now to encourage a new flush of tasty leaves that you can harvest before the frost. Dry or freeze

Try storing your potatoes in hessian sacks which exclude light but allow adequate ventilation. ● Pick runner beans regularly to prevent them becoming stringy and to make room for developing pods. Leaving mature pods to set seed can prevent further flowers developing and reduce your crop. ● Keep an eye out for potato and tomato blight and remove and ● Don’t worry if your lawn is looking destroy any brown, the autumn rains will soon affected make it green again. plants ● Don’t feed your lawn with a highimmediately nitrogen fertiliser now as this will to prevent its encourage lots of lush new growth spread. which is easily damaged by autumn ● Check weather. for cabbage white butterfly ● Lawn growth slows down in late eggs under summer so raise the cutting brassica leaves height of your lawn mower to and squash any help the grass cope. that you find. ● Recut any lawn edges Alternatively use if needed. August Music Candi Staton Unstoppable August 24 - Berecah
(all formats)
A celebration of her legacy and a bold step forward, ‘Unstoppable’ features a funky and contemporary sound that’s steeped in Southern soul and blues. The album features a rhythm section made up of Staton’s sons along with bassist Marcel Williams and drummer Marcus Williams (Isaac Hayes, Pointer Sisters). ‘Unstoppable’ features six
originals written or co-written by Staton. It’s a deeply personal record and one that features Candi’s own take on the problems currently facing the world. There are also rousing covers of punk poet Patti Smith’s ‘People Have the Power’ and Nick Lowe’s timeless rocker ‘(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding’.
Interpol Marauder August 24 Matador Records (all formats)
Celebrating 15 years since the release of their iconic debut album ‘Turn On The Bright Lights, the cooler-thanthou New Yorkers release their sixth long-player ‘Marauder’. Frontman Paul Banks (pic left) says of it: “This record is where I feel touching on real things that have happened to me are exciting and evocative to write about.... I think in the past, I always felt autobiography was too small a thing for me to reference. I feel like now, I’m able to romanticize parts of my own life.”
Jason Mraz Know. August 10 - Atlantic (all formats) The follow-up to the 2014’s ‘Yes!’ is Mraz’s first full-length studio recording in over four years and features current smash single ‘Have It All’. The song’s lyrics were inspired by his encounter with a Buddhist monk whils visiting Myanmar in 2012.
As he tells it, “The monk bowed and said “Tashi delek” which can be translated to mean “may you have auspiciousness and causes of success.” Inspired by this gracious message I took to my journal and expounded on the idea”.
