Choosing the right Laptop Back to School Special
Brought to you by The Tech Heroes
Hey everyone, here's a quick help & tips segment brought to you from the awesome folk at The Tech Heroes in Cefn-Y-Bedd near Wrexham.
The Tech Heroes know the struggle of choosing the perfect laptop for school with so many options out there, but don't freak out, we've got some tips to help guide you.
It's important to know the budget you're willing to spend but that is NOT the most important detail. Understanding HOW you're going to use your new Laptop is the most important thing.Why?..
..Because if you buy a laptop that's not a good enough spec to run what you need, you've wasted a load of money and you'll need to buy another. Likewise, if you spend a tonne of money on a laptop but only use it for surfing the internet and checking emails, you've also wasted a tonne of money. Ouch!
For the vast majority of back-to-school users, grab a laptop with:
1) CAPACITY: 120Gb - 240Gb SSD (Solid State Drive)
2) CPU: Celeron or above (if you can afford an i3 or higher, even better)
4) RAM: 4-8Gb RAM
5) BATTERY: 2 hours or more
6) BUDGET: £220 - £650
DO NOT buy a laptop with less than 120Gb drive unless it’s a Chromebook - it’ll only end in tears !
If you're into graphic design or video editing, splash some cash on a more powerful laptop to support those endeavors! With these tips in mind, you'll find the perfect school companion!

Celebrate Food, Drink and Live Music in Mold
We’re super excited to say your favourite food festival is back again this year. On SEPTEMBER 16-17, we’ll be at Mold’s New Street Car Park with the very best in food and drink.
Mold Food & Drink Festival is organised by a dedicated group of volunteers from local businesses and councils and other willing individuals all with a passion for local food and a commitment to developing the Festival year on year.
The Committee meets regularly and also calls upon the services and expertise of other supportive people and professionals in their field who attend meetings by invitation to assist with particular aspects of the Festival.
Last year, Mold Food and Drink Festival drew thousands of visitors from across North Wales last year and beyond to its New Street site to celebrate and enjoy the best in local cuisine and hospitality.
The festival runs from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. The outdoor food court remains open until 7.30pm on Saturday, with live music on the stage. On Friday evening, the music event opens at 6pm and finishes at 10.15pm.

16-17TH SEPTEMBER 2023
This year for the first time we are adding an extra night on Friday 15th September – an ABBA tribute act ‘Mamma Mania’ and supporting bands.
Tickets can be bought online via Eventbrite –search ‘Mold Food and Drink’. Tickets bought in advance online are cheaper (£5) than on the gate (£7) and substantially reduce queuing time.
On Sunday we have a new Event in the morning – ‘The Big Sunday Breakfast’ starting in Mold town centre.
This year marks the 30th Anniversary of the Culinary Association of Wales, led by Graham Tinsley MBA who alongside his team of chefs will be providing a series of cookery demonstrations.
The Dog and Pickle
We decided to visit the brand-new rebranded pub ‘The dog and Pickle ‘, which is situated on Chester road in Lavister, it was previously known as The Nag’s head but closed down and has been empty since last September.
The new owner originally remained anonymousness which led to rumours that Wrexham AFC co-chairmen Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney had bought the venue this has since been denied with the new owner confirmed.
The pub is only one of two pubs in the UK named The Dog and Pickle and the owner strives for it to be seen as a modern gastro pub, they have a great team of experienced chefs with some even working in Michelin star restaurants!
The pub has an extremely modern feel to it with wood floors, high ceilings with beautiful beams, muted toned panelled walls and lots of of quirky corners with flower walls and fairy lights to set the scene, it really would not have been
out of place in Chester town centre.
There is a lovely outside seating area and a gazebo which we decided to take full advantage of as it was an extremely hot and humid day, although it was a Sunday and the roasts looked amazing we decided we would rather choose something off the regular menu which was not a problem for the restaurant.
We noticed immediately the abundance of staff ready to serve us so knew the service
would be good. We ordered a cider to quench our thirst whilst we read through the menu. We both decided to try the flatbreads for starters as we had seen people on the next table have them and they smelt divine.
As predicted the service was quick and our flatbreads were served looking amazing, we had opted for the Goats Cheese Flatbread which did not disappoint, it was scattered with chunks of beetroot, sun blushed tomatoes and olives and then finished with gooey melted Goats cheese. We had also gone for Confit garlic hummus flatbread which was equally nice and was served separately with a pot of hummus, olives and sun-dried tomatoes. The portions were huge and we agreed we probably should
have shared a flatbread rather than have one each but we both thoroughly enjoyed them.
The main course did not disappoint the Handcrafted pie of the day was braised beef and ale and had a crispy homemade pastry top, it contained tasty warming chunks of beef that melted in your mouth and rich ale gravy. It was served with beautiful slow roasted root veg which was well seasoned and extremely tasty, creamy mash and rich homemade gravy completed the comforting lunch.
We were definitely going traditional as we also opted for Beer Battered Cod fillet served with triple cooked chunky chips and a generous portion of minted
mushy peas. The Beer batter was crispy and delicious and encased the delicate white fish perfectly and the golden extremely chunky triple cooked chips were simply to die for!
Unfortunately, we did not try any of the beautiful desserts as the portions were extremely generous but agreed we would definitely return soon to sample one!

As a leading domestic glass replacement company for more than 16 years, Cloudy2Clear windows are the leading name in the industry. There is no need for you to risk your windows by using the dreaded double glazing cowboy down the street. You can join over 336,000 happy customers and replace your glass ethically and affordably. If you have a failed glass unit, it may not provide you with the protection you need or be as energy-efficient as it once was. Take a minute to check your home to see if any double glazing has failed? Taking action now can prevent future financial problems.
When talking to the Manager of Cloudy2Clear windows Alan Ball it became clear that these values
have been held dear for a number of years. Since starting the business some years ago Cloudy2Clear have remained true to their core values of supporting the local community by providing a service that saves the public money.
The Cloudy2Clear service only requires the glass to be replaced and not the whole window once the unit has failed. Alan commented “Cloudy2Clear were able to assist our community through the last financial crisis in 2008 due to the savings that can be made in using our service. Unfortunately we might be going through something similar again soon and the public can rest assured that we will be there to help once again”.

Visit DUBAI
EAUTIFUL beaches, record-breaking attractions and experiences like no other - Dubai is the place to be in 2023.
It’s no wonder it’s been named Tripadvisor’s No.1 Most Popular Destination in the World for the second year running. Let’s explore...
DOWNTOWN DUBAI
Downtown Dubai, with the Dubai Mall and Dubai fountain - and the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, is one of the most snapped backdrops in the city. Fashionistas from around the world - as well as Dubai’s own style-set - love to share the frame with this extraordinary landmark. You’ll also want to book a table at the Asado for award-winning Argentinian cuisine and stunning waterside views.
BLUEWATERS
No ordinary island, Bluewaters is a man-made wonder that houses the world-famous Caesar’s Palace Dubai and Ain Dubai, the world’s largest observation wheel. With the city’s gleaming architecture on one side and and the shimmering waters of the Arabian Gulf on the other, we recommend heading to Cove Beach for a quintissential sun and sea backdrop, or dining at the Japanese-Peruvian Clay, with Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Beach residence in the distance.
AL SEEF
For old Dubai charm with a modern twist, take a stroll through the All Seef district. Nestled beside Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood and along the banks of the historic Dubai Creek, this bustling development presents the charms of a bygone era, in effortless fashion.
Venture through the sand-coloured ‘sikka’ (alleyways) and cobblestoned streets and vibrant museums to capture the feel of Dubai’s humble beginnings.
There are plenty of charming restaurants too, like Al Fanar Seafood Market for authentic local flavours.
THE POINTe
A waterside wonderland at Palm Jumeirah, The Pointe presents an array of dining, shopping and entertainment options for the whole family. Stroll along the picturesque promenade, especially popular for its views of fairytale castle-like Atlantis, The Palm, in the distance.
If you’re in the mood to shop, stop by Oud Dubai to discover an incredible range of traditional scents, or create your own sparkling souvenir at Palazzo Jewellery.
DUBAI CREEK HARBOUR
Home to retail, cultural and residential spaces, it’s also one of the most photographed places in Dubai. You’ll want to seek out the waterside promenade, where giant arches frame skyline views of Burj Khalifa and the Downtown Neighbourhood.
Swim at Vida Creek Harbour’s infinity pool or dine on French classics
at Mondoux restaurant’s terrace.
DUBAI AQUARIUM
Don’t miss the giant 10 million-litre tank at Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, which contains more than 33,000 aquatic animals and the largest collection of sand tiger sharks anywhere.
Rising to the third floor of Dubai Mall, the aquarium is among the city’s most popular attractions. Stroll through a 48 metre tunnel, with the aquarium enveloping
to the Buri Khalifa. Featuring over 1,200 retail stores and hundreds of food and drink outlets, it covers over 1 million square metres - an area equivalent to 200 football pitches. It houses retailers such as Bloomingdales and Galleries Lafayette and brands such as Burberry and Versace.
As well as the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, it also features the Olympic-sized Dubai Ice Rink, childrens’ ‘edutainment’ concept Kidzania and a massive indoor cinema complex.
JUMEIRAH PUBLIC BEACH
The Jumeirah Public Beach (called Nessnass Beach by locals), has become a popular hotspot thanks to its welcoming waters and clean stretch of sand.
you from overhead and around, and tiger sharks and stingrays swimming overhead.
DUBAI MALL
Dubai Mall is the world’s largest shopping, entertainment and leisure destination, located next
It‘s also one of the few beaches in Dubai to allow swimming at night, as well as during the day. Thanks to powerful floodlights, you can swim in the sea at part of Jumeirah Public Beach from sunset to sunrise. Nessnass Beach is located behind Sunset Mall, one of the city’s boutique shopping destinations.
