CEMC Foundation Scholarships and Mary Shuptrine Tootle Scholarship

Canoochee EMC (CEMC) is offering a scholarship to those eligible inside CEMC's coverage area. The scholar­ship is a direct result of our members' donations through Operation Round Up (ORU). The money will cover all of the scholarships and not cost any of the member's anything additionally besides their initial donations through Operation Round Up.

The Mary Shuptrine Tootle Scholarship was first awarded in 2015. Mrs. Tootle was Canoochee EMC's first hired employee, serving many different roles with the EMC. Upon her passing, Canoochee EMC was proud to announce a scholarship in her honor. The top candi­date of the awarded CEMC Foundation scholarships receives this award.

This year, Canoochee EMC will be giving a minimum of 10 CEMC Foundation scholarships to deserving students. Scholarships will be selected by non-CEMC employees in order to ensure integrity and fair judging.

Applications

Applications will be available on the Canoochee EMC website at www.canoocheeemc.com/cemc-foundation-scholarship and should be submitted through our website. Applications will include questions about an applicant's economic background and academia. The application must also contain an academic transcript, SAT or ACT scores, letters of recommendation, proof of enrollment or intended enrollment at a post-secondary school and a short autobiography.

Eligibility

These scholarships are open to any high school senior who lives in a home served by Canoochee EMC and is plan­ning to attend a two- or four-year accredited university, col­lege or technical school in Georgia.

All Canoochee EMC members (including children and those who primarily reside within a home on Canoochee EM C's system) who attend high school may apply.

Recipients must be a CEMC member or their primary residence must be within a member's household. Employees and board members, as well as their families, are included.

Scholarships will be based on academic ability and financial need. Therefore, on the application there will be questions regarding eco­nomic background in order to verify need.

Date Issued

Notification of the award will be given in May.

Amount

Each Scholarship will be valued at $3,000, with the Mary Shuptrine Tootle Scholarship being valued at $4,000.
