What The Church is Saying “Families in real need are being helped. Since the requests are coming from professional welfare workers we don't have to worry if someone is just trying to take advantage of well-meaning people. Most of all, children are able to remain in environments that are favorable to their overall welfare.”
“I think the Care Portal is the perfect opportunity to be the church as described in Acts.”

What Child Welfare Workers Are Saying “This donation prevented a former foster child and her son from being evicted.”
“This gift will allow the child to return to the parent's care. She will be able to have a bed to sleep in and be safe.”
“This is an amazing gift from God. You have helped this family, who struggles day to day, and shown them that others care about them...they are not lost in this world. I'm in awe.”

CarePortal NYC Considerations

New York City Challenges • Transportation, Transportation, Transportation: Tier 1 physical needs are often cribs, beds, mattresses, and furniture. Since many New Yorkers (within the city) do not have vehicles, transporting the need is challenging. Uber, subway, and taxi are possible but difficult modes of transportation. • Time: Finding volunteer coordinators who can commit 10 hours a week will prove difficult because of New Yorker’s already busy schedules and lifestyles.
