They are the people you see the most, the person who answers your questions, the person who helps to shape your impression of a destination. In recognition of this important relationship, our guides are truly passionate, local experts who are carefully selected and trained to look out for you, to share the history and knowledge that only a local can provide, and to expect the unexpected. GETTING AROUND
We don’t do ‘bus tours’… we do Small Group Journeys. Whether it’s a tuktuk, jeep safari, or bullet train, you’ll get a local experience when it provides the best sightseeing or transport opportunity. Otherwise, road journeys are in our comfortable air-conditioned vehicles. We keep it small and never use large coaches.

I just returned from Sri Lanka and wished to say how much I enjoyed this trip! It was the first time I had used Insider Journeys and I was very impressed with the level of organisation, quality of the hotels, tour guides, vans, cyclos, etc. It was a truly memorable 12 days and thank you to the Insider Journeys team for organising it.
Debbie, Wagga Wagga, Australia
SMALL GROUP JOURNEYS
For guests who prefer to travel with others, we offer our popular Small Group Journeys. We limit these groups to a maximum of 16 people (and only 12 in Japan) so you can enjoy a personalised, authentic experience. Smaller groups ensure more time with your local expert, more time to make new friends, less time waiting, and more time for you to enjoy the amazing destinations throughout your journey.
Whether you’re gathering your family for a reunion, your friends for a dream wedding, or your co-workers for a rewards trip, let us design the perfect custom itinerary for your group’s needs. Large groups come with large expectations, and our dedicated Groups department specializes in these unique requirements. We offer advice and support at all times, so you have peace of mind that we are here for your group.

KENYA
The most revered of Africa’s safari destinations, Kenya is located in East Africa, straddled by the Equator. The incredible diversity of landscapes, cultures, wildlife and activities mean endless opportunities for visitors to Kenya. Kenya offers a diverse range of environments all within relatively close proximity to one another, and has an excellent domestic travel infrastructure. Kenya’s rich diversity of wildlife means that no two experiences in the wild are ever the same. Visitors to Kenya can experience and see completely different things. In
a single trip to Kenya, you can visit tropical forests, beautiful beaches, deserts, climb mountains and explore the wild.
In Kenya, it is possible to plan a safari that blends adventure and relaxation, luxury and natural simplicity, social experiences and solitude. You can experience a different safari every day. The hospitality of the people of Kenya is legendary; you are sure to be met with a lovely smile from the city to the remote villages.
THE MAJOR CITIES
Nairobi, the Capital is also known as the “Green City in the Sun”, is a bustling cosmopolitan hub attracting different cultures. Its native occupants were the Masai who called it ‘Enkare Nyirobi’ meaning the place of cool waters.
Mombasa, the second largest city and also the Gateway to East Africa has a rich history and cultural heritage dating back to the early 11th century. The Indian Ocean laps the Coastline with some of the finest sandy beaches and coral reefs in the world.
Situated on the shores of Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest inland lake and the world’s second largest freshwater lake, Kisumu is the 3rd metro of Kenya, a major fishing and agricultural area along with sports and cultural tourism attractions.
COUNTRY
Kenya is located at the east of Africa traversed by the equator. Since the constitution of 2010, Kenya is a presidential representative democratic republic. Kenya has 47.5 million inhabitants, a coastline of 536 km and with Mount Kenya (5197m) the second highest mountain of Africa. One can trace the beginning of Kenyan Tourism in the early 1930s when the first wildlife Safaris on the African continent were taking place in the country. Kenya has for sure one of the best tourism infrastructure in Africa.
WEATHER
Kenya lies on the equator with tropical climate influenced by several factors including altitude. No real winter and summer but dry and wet seasons. PEOPLE
To those who wish to experience the very essence of this magnificent land, we say, “nowhere does Kenya live more vividly than in the hearts of her people.” To see Kenya with the Kenyans is to travel into the hearts of a hundred stories. How this land which contains within itself every known ecosystem on earth can find an exact and faithful mirror in the human face is a mystery. The Masai, The Samburu, the Pokot, the herdsmen, hunters, the bantus, the Semites and third generation Kenyan English, the village elders and the witch doctors: they are all the living template of Africa.
SAVANNAH & WILDERNESS
The diversity of game in the wilderness and the unique landscapes of Kenya is simply breathtaking. From the big five to the small or the unique five, the diverse bird species, game parks and protected wildlife areas, it’s easy to understand why this is the authentic home of safaris.gI
