Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, has developed from a workers‘ settlement to a modern world metropolis at a breathtaking pace. Although many people claim that it is still lacking attractions and doesn’t boast the same appeal as its neighbours Bangkok and Singapore, we regard it an eclectic and gorgeous hub of culture and class. Chinatown gives you an idea how the city used to look like decades ago. Here you can see dilapidated houses and craftsmen doing their traditional work while enjoying local treats in one of the numerous street restaurants. Right next door you find the ultramodern Bukit Bintang business centre with air-conditioned glass and steel buildings, chic bars and fancy shops that offer everything you need. Moreover, everywhere across the city there are colourful mosques, churches, pagodas and temples coexisting peacefully and shaping the face of Kuala Lumpur.
