Take a Tuk Tuk to Angkor Wat and explore the grounds by torchlight, something few travellers get to explore. Travel like a local as you glide through Saigon‘s fascinating streets on a traditional tuk tuk.

Angkor Wat

Day 1 Hanoi (Vietnam) On arrival in Hanoi, transfer to your hotel and enjoy free time until your tour briefing and welcome drinks with your fellow travellers. Stay the next two nights at Hotel La Belle Vie (or similar).

Day 2 Hanoi Spend the day discovering Hanoi’s must-visit sites including the infamous Hoa Lo Prison and Dong Xuan Market. Walk through the crowded streets of the city’s Old Quarter, pay a visit to the Temple of Literature and the historical St Joseph’s Cathedral. Enjoy a wonderful afternoon tea before you continue your exploration of the city, finishing up at the popular Hoan Kiem Lake, situated in the heart of Hanoi city. (B)

Day 3 Hanoi to Halong Bay Drive past scenes of traditional rural life as you journey from Hanoi to Halong City, the gateway to Halong Bay. On arrival, board a junk boat and begin cruising among some of the 3,000 limestone karsts. Enjoy a delicious lunch as you cruise through the pristine, turquoise waters of this stunning natural wonder. Overnight on-board Bhaya Cruises (or similar). (BLD)

Day 4 Halong Bay to Hoi An Continue your exploration of Halong Bay before enjoying brunch on board. Cruise back to port for disembarkation, before you drive to Hanoi for your onwards flight to Danang. On arrival, transfer to your hotel in the charming town of Hoi An. Enjoy an evening of free time. Stay the next two nights at the Hoi An Silk Marina Resort & Spa (or similar). (R)

Day 5 Hoi An Explore the riverside town of Hoi An on a walking tour. Visit the many sites and discover the mix of Chinese, Japanese and French influenced architecture. Visit a traditional ancient house, a Chinese Assembly Hall and the Japanese Covered Bridge. The afternoon is free for you to do as much or as little as you like. Choose to explore the old town, have a tailor custom make a new wardrobe or cycle to An Bang Beach (B)

Day 6 Hoi An to Saigon Enjoy more free time in Hoi An before flying to Saigon. On arrival, transfer to your hotel for check in and enjoy an afternoon at leisure. Stay Day 7 Saigon – Cu Chi Tunnels From Saigon, drive to Cu Chi and discover the network of underground tunnels and their significance during the war. In the afternoon return back to Saigon. Join a guided walking tour and discover the rich history of this spirited city as you visit some of its main attractions. (B)

Day 8 Saigon to Mekong Delta Board your boat to begin your exploration of the Mekong Delta. After a delicious lunch on board before cruising through the many palm fringed canals and waterways, as you witness local life along the shoreline. Stay the next three nights on board Mekong Eyes. (BLD)

Day 9 Mekong Delta Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before experiencing the unique rowing techniques of a sampan boat. Visit a coconut candy enterprise and cycle through the laneways of a local village. Return to the boat for sunset drinks on the deck. (BLD)

Day 10 Mekong Delta Visit Tan Thuan Dong islet where you can either walk or cycle through this beautiful area. Enjoy lunch on board and free time to simply relax as you continue to enjoy panoramic views. (BLD)

Day 11 Mekong Delta to Phnom Penh (Cambodia) Cross the border from Vietnam into Cambodia and travel by speedboat to Phnom Penh. Visit the Tuol Sleng Musuem and the Killing Fields memorial at Choeng Ek. As the day rolls to a close, enjoy a drink with your group as you watch the sun set over the Mekong River. Enjoy your stay for the coming evening at the Sun & Moon Urban Hotel (or similar). (B)

Day 12 Phnom Penh to Siem Reap Enjoy a morning cyclo ride through the backstreets of Phnom Penh. Discover Wat Phnom, the birthplace of the capital, the Royal Palace and its famous landmark, the Silver Pagoda, and the National Museum with its unique collection of Khmer art. Fly to Siem Reap. Stay the next two nights at Steung Siem Reap Hotel (or similar). (B)

Day 13 Siem Reap – Temples of Angkor Take a short drive to explore the grounds of “The Great City” Angkor Thom. Stop to see Bayon temple and the many impressive stone carvings, visit the Terrace of Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King with its intricate god and demon stone carvings. Return to town for lunch before journeying to Ta Prohm temple. Admire the enormous vines and roots snaking their way across the stone temples, before exploring the magnificent Angkor Wat. In the evening, experience authentic Khmer song and dance as you join your group for a farewell dinner. (BLD)
