BRIGHTON SPEEDWAY Late Model racer Adam Turner won the 30-lap feature at Brighton Speedway on June 4. It was Turner’s second checkered flag of the season, after he took the opening night win, earlier in the season. The hard-charging Kyle Sopaz was second.

PETERBOROUGH SPEEDWAY Brad Lavalle made his first visit of the season to Victory Lane when he earned the checkered flag following the June 4 Bone Stock feature at the high-banked, one-third-mile Peterborough oval. Lavalle started on the front row and led all 20 laps.

The veteran wheeled the new machine he built during the off-season to Victory Lane at the end of the 25-lap main.

PETERBOROUGH SPEEDWAY Reigning Peterborough Speedway Mini Stock track champion Jeremy Kelly added another checkered flag to his resume on June 4. After several attempts, he took the lead from Ryan Edwards-Kiss – with just four laps to go – en route to the win. OUTLAW MIDGET SERIES The Outlaw Midget Series was in action at Peterborough Speedway on June 4. Larry Lawson took the early lead, but it was Jessica James who worked her way through the field and took the lead at the hallway mark, before going on to take the Checkered Flag.

APC LATE MODEL SERIES On June 4, the APC LMS headed to Flamboro for the tour’s second race of the season, the LRR 100. J.R. Fitzpatrick (middle) took the victory ahead of Kyle Steckly (left) and Andrew Gresel (right), the three of them pictured in Flamboro’s Qwick Wick Victory Lane.

MARATIME STREET STOCK SERIES Michael Cormier (Grand-Barachois, NB) picked up where he left off in 2021 with the Maritime Street Stock Series. The defending champ won the 100-lap feature on June 4 at New Brunswick’s Petty International Raceway. The victory earned Cormier a $4,000 payday.

ONTARIO PRO CHALLENGE There were two Ontario Pro Challenge features on May 28 at Flamboro Speedway. Tim Norris won the first, while his son, Mike (shown), won the second. In both features, the Norris who didn’t win… finished second. QWICK WICK SUPER STOCKS Also, on the June 4 card at Flamboro Speedway were the Qwick Wick Super Stocks, opening their 2022 season. Defending series champion Lane Zardo qualified fastest of the 18 cars in attendance and came from fifth on the grid to take the victory.

ONTARIO MODIFIED RACING SERIES Chad Strawn kicked off the 2022 Ontario Modifieds Racing Series season with a checkered flag on May 28 at Peterborough Speedway. Alex Cuzilla hounded Strawn in the late going but settled for second.

SUPER DIRTCAR SERIES In addition to his fulltime NASCAR Truck Series program, Busy Canadian racer Stewart Friesen still finds time to race in the Super DIRTcar Series. On May 29, Friesen won the Heroes Remembered 100 at Weedsport (NY) Speedway.

SPEEDWAY 660 Boundary Creek, NB’s Dave O’Blenis reached a career milestone, on May 29, when he won his 100th feature. He did it at Speedway 660 in Geary, NB. O’Blenis hit the century mark the day after notching No. 99 the day before, in the Pro Stock 100 at the track.

OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY Following two long years closed due to the pandemic, racing returned to Ohsweken Speedway on June 3. Darren Dryden didn’t start up front in the Crate Sprint A-Main but worked his way there to earn his first career Sprint Car victory.

OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY Recently ranked as the top driver in the North American 360 Sprint Car rankings, three-time Ohsweken 360 Sprints champ Dylan Westbrook got back to his winning ways during the June 3 opener. He held off Ryan Turner to collect his 29th career Ohsweken 360 victory. MARITIME LEAGUE OF LEGENDS Danny Chisholm (middle) of Canning, NS went to Victory Lane following the season opener for the Maritime League of Legends, held May 29 at Speedway 660. Prior to that, he scored a heat win. Rookie Josh Langille (left) and Owen Mahar (right) were second and third.

OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY Dave Bailey demonstrated that a two-year hiatus from racing at ‘The Big O’ didn’t tarnish his skills. He started his quest for a sixth consecutive Thunder Stock title, on June 3, with a win. It was his 29th career Thunder Stock feature victory at Ohsweken.

OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY Tyler Lafantaisie took advantage of the opportunity when race leader Dusty DeBoer was knocked off stride by a spinning car during the 15 lap Mini Stock main at Ohsweken, on June 3. Lafantaisie pounced on the restart to take the lead and the eventual win.

APC LATE MODEL SERIES Rick Spencer-Walt won the APC LMS opener at Sunset on May 21. After a sub-par practice session, it all came together for Spencer-Walt when he qualified fastest for the 100-lap race, before starting fourth and taking the lead a third of the way through the race.

SUNSET SPEEDWAY The Bone Stocks took to the track May 22 at Sunset Speedway as part of the track’s Spring Velocity weekend. Phil Givens took advantage of the race’s lone caution and got a good restart that propelled him into the lead. He wouldn’t look back and took the win.

DINOSAUR DOWNS SPEEDWAY On May 7, the IMCA Modifieds were in action at Dinosaur Downs Speedway, in Drumheller, AB. Roger Bonneville of Strathmore, AB – starting his 55th continuous year of racing – won the features on May 7 and 8! SUNSET SPEEDWAY Mini Stock racer Shawn Taylor started out front and led the entire race, through a handful of cautions, to win the May 22 Spring Velocity feature at Sunset Speedway, south of Barrie, ON.

MERRITTVILLE SPEEDWAY Legendary racer Pete Bicknell made the familiar trip to Merrittville Speedway’s Victory Lane following the 35-lap 358 Modified feature race at the Thorold, ON dirt oval. The Hall of Fame racer held off Ryan Susice through several late-race restarts.
