Education Franchises: Developing a Chain of Next-Gen Learning
Well, a lot! Being digitally challenged is one of the prime concerns where children are not getting proper education. Even with suitable resources in place, it is not always easy to find the right curriculum or online aid for students’ academics. It is always a constant struggle for parents to get their children in the ‘right’ school. This concept of finding and applying into the ‘right’ school is quite exhausting sometimes and not many people get an opportunity to enroll their children in an educational institution they desire. There are various reasons for that. The reasons can vary from financial limitations and demographic challenges to school policies, etc. A conventional school program sometimes is unable to avail the requisite opportunities for students as they are going through a diverse learning curve due to digitization. Emerging opportunities for them are limitless and so should be their educational curriculum. Traditional education system or some of
the institutes those follow the said system can be poorly equipped to cater to the diverse needs of the students. Now, if we think from a parent’s perspective, we would always want our child to receive the best education possible and our efforts would be towards the same approach. But the question is what kind of system is more equipped to provide the children with diverse experience in education? Well, the answer to that evidently is the rising numbers of education franchises that are catering to the exclusive requirements of students or children in a dynamic way. Students of all ages are being catered by experts and professionals from various educational backgrounds in the franchise model of learning. “
Since 1994, we are committed to protecting, educating, and nurturing children in a safe, stimulating, and positive environment.
“
W
hen William Wordsworth wrote, ‘The Child is the father of the Man,’ he basically put down the feelings of every parent in the world. Many would argue or question how a child, who is new to the world and knows nothing, can teach a grown-up. To which the suitable answer would be to let them spend a day among young tots. Children have a lot to teach us – like love, being friends without motives, being carefree, letting go of things that hurt, living in the moment, approaching things with curiosity, and so much more. True, they are expected to learn the worldly manners as they grow up, and for that they need to enter a formal educational setup. However, instead of expecting them to learn everything from day one, would it not be fun and natural for them to learn while they remain their true self? Just being kids and not students. Richard Huffman, who goes by Richie, experienced quality early childhood education at White Marsh Child Care Center, which was owned and run by his mother. Growing up, Richie lent a hand to the family business and grasped all he could about the know-hows of running a childcare and preschool. What he understood in those crucial years was that parents expect childcare providers to be more than just babysitters. They want their kids to be engaged through age-specific programs,
arts, crafts, and social skills. Ten years later, in 1994, Richie started a childcare center of his own in Ellicott City and christened it Enchanted Child Care. This was the first of many centers that would eventually evolve to become Celebree Learning Centers in 2002. In preparation for franchising the concept, the school committed to a full rebrand and became Celebree School in 2018. Values that Resonate with Parents Celebree School’s core values are ‘Protect, Educate & Nurture’. The team believes that it has one of the best jobs in the world and is inspired by the extraordinary children in its care, every day. It is a childcare company that values family and community as a means to educate and nurture children. “We constantly strive to create an environment for children that is an extension of their home; a place that is welcoming and full of happy people who take their roles in your child’s life seriously,” says the team. Celebree Schools, like an extended family, puts the needs and education of the children in its care above all else. They understand that parents today have a lot to deal with and yet the children are their priority. As such, they give children a safe, stimulating, and positive environment that helps them grow naturally and sets the parents carefree.

“
The safety of our children is a primary concern for both our team of educators and our parents.

“
Expanding the Support Village Celebree School has set-up a complete infrastructure with a dedicated call center, and a sales touchpoint process to handle student enrollment for its franchisees and manage the centers. The school’s vision is to be the recognized leader in providing the best care for infants, toddlers, preschool, and school age children. It is not just chasing a number; it is growing responsibly by always asking what is in the best interest of the franchise. “Those who may have once been interested in other concepts of similar investment, now see early childhood education not only essential but very recession-resistant and resilient. With like-minded professionals, we will continue to celebrate the education of children. We will teach them to be confident, so they may grow into selfassured adults,” concludes Richard.
“
Celebree Schools are today’s premier choice for childcare, preschool, and early childhood education.
“

Susan Caldwell, Founder and CEO at Flour Power knew all about these too well, as also the struggles that go into getting out of obesity and getting into shape. She should. After all she did feature in People Magazine’s Annual “Half Their Size” issue having lost over 150 pounds. But then unlike others who bask in the glow of an achievement of a lifetime, she did something different, and profound! She began a youth fitness program to teach children about being healthy, which included cooking healthy.

What began in 2008 from a single location in Raleigh, grew organically to four corporate locations before farming out franchises in the year 2016. Today, Flour Power is paving its way ahead with 15 franchises in 7 states across the US. The most interesting part in its rise remains the fact that it all started in a gym.
From being a role model to new staff and franchise owners, to having college interns in the studios learning how the studio operates and how the business world works, everything we do is done with commitment, and the customer in mind.

Corporate Events, Kids Night Out Events, Virtual Classes and Etiquette Classes for the young, be they toddlers and preschoolers or even teens. And it is precisely here, behind the cooking stove that Flour Power does things with a flourish. They tell their audience everything about healthy cooking and eating, and doing it in ways that remains safe, secure, and acceptable for everyone. Exhibiting Excellence
Yes, the same gym where its owner Susan shed loads of her own weight using some serious ‘old fashioned ways’. Wanting to do things differently, on a hunch, she renovated half the gym into a Kids cooking studio. She was never to know then that it would be so popular that folks would line-up for her franchises. Cut to the present, Flour Power, by its own admission rustles up amazing programs for events such as Birthdays, Weekly Classes, Camps, Adult Classes,
www.insightssuccess.com
Flour Power today is known for its network of franchise cooking studios which dole out the best advice on preparing the right food for the right reason and the right season with the right cohesion – if it is about health. In doing so, they touch upon food in all its expanse right from the place where it is grown to the place where it is finally consumed. In its search for the ‘holy grail’ of food that satisfies the palate and the appetite, they touch upon areas as diverse as foods for parties (especially birthday parties,
kids night-outs, out-door trips and camps etc.), events (mostly corporate events), and the likes. Flour Power teaches these using a mix of mediums and methodologies including weekly physical (currently virtual) classes and virtual classes. Food as we all know is not only about easing our hunger. It is an art, a science and to some, a way of life. For these reasons and just so that people consume food with a certain respect, veneration and modesty, Flour Power even has Etiquette Classes which teaches everything to kids about how to cook, serve and consume the right food the right way. In the food service industry, “good” goes beyond taste to include economics. To this end, Flour Power prefers to work with Franchise owners who have the right infrastructure and resources. A young guest walking through the front door should, according to them, leave feeling full and pleasant with the experience, is what they aspire for. And for that, every new franchise owner has to go thru a 40-hour formal training at Raleigh, NC in an actual studio training with kids which involves besides others, leading cooking classes, doing prep work and even hosting birthday parties.
17 | October 2020
Setting Benchmarks So dedicated Flour Power is to give their little customers the right experience that even before the 40hour program, that they conduct a ‘Jumpstart to Success Stages and Phases’ program, outlining steps to be taken immediately after the Franchise Agreement come about. This continues with an additional six weeks of online training and a marketing webinar with the Founder. Constant and much-needed handholding within a certain period of the studio going live, is a given. Susan attributes the company’s success first to teamwork. Her franchise-owners, according to her constitute the best team possible whose commitment to succeed is just amazing and flows through to every part of the organization. The other thing, she says, is Flour Power’s commitment to customers delight. From being a role model to new staff and franchise owners, to having college interns come to their studios to learn more about how things take place and how the business works in the real world, everything is designed and executed with utmost care and caution 18 | October 2020
for the benefit of the general public. With children forever drooling at the sight of good food, and health being a perennial concern, she plans to introduce healthy cooking and eating to as many as possible. Flour Power has recently approved to sell franchises in Illinois, Virginia and Maryland and has applied for franchises in New York, Minnesota, Indiana, and Wisconsin besides the south-eastern states in the US. If these were not enough, enticing the cook in every child would be, a
Flour Power Studio on wheels which won’t wait for children to come to them but would go right where they are. Flour Power is here to stay and grow. Because good habits, including cooking and eating right, ought to start early.

Robots.Education Providing Imperative Knowledge of Robotics
F
eatured in Insights Success, the Founder and CEO, Dennis Kambeitz of Robots.Education shares his insights behind the triumphant success of his organization in the global marketplace. Here is what Dennis had to say when asked a series of questions: Give a brief overview of the company and its vision. The coming decade will be defined by the largest workforce transition in the history of mankind. Millions of jobs will be eliminated by robotics and artificial intelligence, while millions of new jobs will be created. Equally important to understand is that a significant number of remaining jobs will be transformed. The workplace is changing incredibly rapidly. As companies integrate more sophisticated technologies, job applicants who have strong technical skills (including robotics literacy) will have a huge advantage. It’s important to understand that we’re not advocating that “everyone needs to become a roboticist or a programmer”, but have robotics literacy will be a significant differentiator in the workforce within the next seven year, across a huge number of industries and jobs, including jobs that wouldn’t be considered to be “technical in nature”. Robots.Education is a world leader in addressing this challenge. We teach robotics directly to children and adults through in-school and after-school programs, summer camps, and evening and weekend workshops. We also work closely with educators, helping them understand the best practices for teaching robotics. We’ve trained hundreds of educators how to teach robotics, and literally 100% of them have indicated that they would recommend us to their colleagues. Our strategies for teaching robotics allow virtually anyone to acquire robotics literacy. Perhaps more importantly, our programs are incredibly engaging for students and we’ll see enrolment levels that far exceed anything that schools or
28 | October 2020
other programs are achieving. Over the past 4 years we’ve demonstrated robotics to more than 14,000 students from grades 4-12, and following our presentations, 90% of them have indicates that they would be interested in learning robotics. The coming decade will see explosive growth within the robotics industry, and the demand for robotics education will grow rapidly. Our approach to teaching robotics is incredibly inspirational, while our strategies and methodology allow virtually anyone to learn robotics. 99% of our program participants would recommend us to their friends and family. What are the cutting-edge products/services offered by Robots.Education? We use world-class technology and combine it with an approach that inspires almost everyone. Most other robotics programs tend to fall into two categories – the students are using low powered technology or they are high-end engineering programs. Once we accept that ALL our students need robotics literacy, the low powered option doesn’t teach enough, and the engineering programs only attract engineering minded students. We teach real-world robotics in a way that inspires virtually everyone, and that virtually everyone can learn. There truly is nothing else like it. What are the distinctive features/foundations that make Robots.Education unique from its competitors? Our programs achieve incredibly strong results. 100% of the educators who we have trained would recommend us to colleagues, and 99% of program participants would recommend us to friends and family. We make robotics fun for everyone. Our innovative approach to teaching robotics (and incredible levels of engagement) allows us to build strong relationships with educators, whereby they will often view us as a trusted resource, rather than an outside vendor.

Where does Robots.Education see itself in the long run and what are its future goals? Robotics education will see massive growth over the coming decade, and Robots.Education has positioned themselves as global leaders in this area. Over the coming decade, we will inspire and educate millions of people on robotics, helping them be successful in both school and their careers. About the Leader Dennis is recognized as a global leader and passionate advocate for STEM and robotics education.
Superintendents who hear his presentations will often ask Dennis to speak to their principals. And further those Principals will ask him to meet their staff members. Universities and school districts have flown Dennis across the continent to train their professors and teachers. Dennis’s innovative approach to teaching robotics and coding has helped hundreds of schools to achieve unprecedented levels of student engagement across all demographics. His strategies has proved to be successful with boys, girls, nerds, jocks, the gifted, and even students who are not as academically inclined. Testimonials from Robots.Education’s Clients: “The session made me understand how far-reaching robotics is becoming. We have to change our educational structure to include all students in robotics/STEM.” – Joanne Sgroi, Technology Specialist, Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey “Great Session, I liked the introduction to robotics at the beginning – puts it all into perspective.” – Anna Zborowska, Teacher, St. Gregory
