Rinku’s own life is an extraordinary saga of surmounting hardships, struggles, challenges, obstacles, adversities, and adversaries and yet triumphing in the end.
Born in the year 1974, Rinku passed his SSC in 1990 from WBBSE and his HSC in 1992 from WBCHSE. He further got his BA (Hons.) degree in 1995 from Vidyasagar University. Recollecting his own journey, he shares that in his childhood, their financial condition was weak. His father, Late Kamal Chakraborty worked in a shop. So Rinku got admitted to an SCST school in class five so that he can have free board, books, education, and study there. Then after his father passed away in class five, Rinku’s mother Tapati Chakraborty started working in people’s houses and somehow provided for his food which resulted in a situation where he never got any books or tuition till his higher secondary education.
After passing HSC, Rinku enrolled in college by paying for his studies with the money earned by conducting tuition and receiving a salary for tutoring others. Then he started working on a publication. He quit his job because they mistreated him there and started a publishing business in 1999 by printing some small books. At first, Rinku used to take books in bags and deliver them from shop to shop in his district. Then he bought office space in Kolkata to increase the business from his district in collaboration with a bookstore. Then he started working for 18 to 20 long hours every day to bring out and publish competitive books one after another. Students like those books very much. With their tremendous response and love, Tapati Publishers kept growing and eventually earned the leading position in the entire West Bengal State in the competitive examination books niche.

Sharing his inspiration behind venturing into the business arena, Rinku says that after the death of his father in class five, he saw that his mother had to keep working in people’s houses. Since then, he wanted to do something when he grows up to make his mother proud and happy.
