In 2010, Dr Marcia launched the Phoenix Newspaper, the first positive newspaper to hit the mainstream market; read and accepted by all cultures.

Dr Marcia is an enigmatic woman who oozes with experience of life, people and the world. I took time to enjoy our interview and left feeling utterly inspired.

What qualities do you think make a good journalist?

A good listener first and foremost. I personally think a good journalist has to be one that listens and shows empathy and interest with the interviewee.

How would you describe an inclusive organisation?

One that is very much like ours! An organisation that takes into consideration that there are different types of people, cultures, backgrounds, sexualities, gender and more. It is so important that we promote equality and diversity in the workplace, as only with the eyes of many that have all had their own life experiences, will you get a truly well-rounded view of the world.
