We want to inspire you to embrace new talented writers as some will be sharing their stories for the first time. We also have experienced, amazing writers from around the world. Here at Inspiration 4 Life, we are a judge free zone and love to give others the opportunities to also live their dreams and passions. We have been trying to make this dream come true since 2010 but with so many obstacles that stood in the way, we managed to break barriers and still made our dream come true. SOUTH LAKE TAHOE AND NORTH LAKE TAHOE ANA BANDA This New Year’s Eve I was excited to fly to Reno, Nevada and spend my New Year’s Eve celebration and my January birthday in South Lake Tahoe. Reno, Nevada, known as the “Biggest Little city in the World”, is where I arrived for my ultimate destination to Lake Tahoe. I explored Reno for the day and walked around the area. I was excited to see that Reno also offers a riverwalk option for locals and tourists. The cold and icy conditions did not allow me to enjoy the riverwalk close up but I was still able to watch the river water from the bridge. I enjoyed a hot coffee as I walked the area. Then it was time to drive the close to two-hour drive to South Lake Tahoe. It was a scenic drive and I was excited to see snow on the ground. Lake Tahoe is divided by the CaliforniaNevada state line, the lake is renowned for its stunning scenery, pristine waters, and yearround recreational opportunities. As I arrived to my hotel destination, the Golden Nugget hotel, it was exciting to see the park across the street filled with snowboarders and snow ball fights! I soon checked into the hotel and was excited to learn that this hotel was once the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. It was such a blast from the past on every floor as I explored the halls of this classic casino. I particularly enjoyed the pictures of all the past musical artists that aligned the hallways. From my bedroom window, I was greeted with a patio that allowed me to see Lake Tahoe from a distance. I was so excited to venture out soon. What I didn’t realize at the moment, was that my hotel was situated about a block from the Nevada and California state line! I literally walked over to cross the state line several times until I realized that I was walking back and forth from Nevada to California! How fun! I met so many new friendly faces. That evening was New Year’s Eve and I was so lucky to find out that one of the biggest block parties would be held right out front of my hotel in their courtyard. I was told that people from all around drive to this location for this event. Nighttime came and I found myself in the middle of an ecstatic crowd with great music provided by a local dj.

The music and the energy in that crowd was exhilarating! The

weather was in the 60’s and dropped into the 50’s as we approached the midnight hour. New Year’s Eve in that courtyard outside of the Golden Nugget was electric and I would recommend the experience. The next couple of days, I did explore the lake by car and by long walks. I drove up to the mountains and then back down to Incline Village area. The beauty of this place is that there is just so much to enjoy! Nature lovers, this is your place! 6

If you are into high impact sports or lower impact sports, Lake Tahoe is the place. Heavenly Village was walking distance and this place offered skiing, views, shopping, restaurants and hot coffee. The town, with its logwood style cabins and shops makes for a charming experience. I enjoyed several restaurants while there including Thai food, sushi and hometown breakfasts. So many options to choose from. My favorite breakfast was a cornbread waffle that I enjoyed at one of the oldest local restaurants that has been in business, the Red Hut Waffle Shop. I loved that waffle so much that I returned for one last visit on the day that I was scheduled to fly out of Lake Tahoe. That was my birthday breakfast in Lake Tahoe! South Lake Tahoe and North Lake Tahoe, each possess its very own unique charm. I would absolutely recommend this American travel destination. EDNA LUGO Edna Lugo is a contemporary cultural artist who was born in Queretaro, Mexico, and now is based in San Antonio Texas. She is an accomplished musician, stained glass and paper Mache artist and most recently, an emerging successful silversmith. When Edna turned her sights to silversmithing in 2022, she sought the help and guidance of legendary master silversmith, Art Tafoya. Her inspirations come from the world around her, most notably the natural world.
