QUINTENDAILEY

Who Am I….? I'm ME! I represent love…I represent overstanding… I represent trouble… I represent knowledge… I represent QUINTEN DAILEY!! Just a southern God fearing family man with the intentions and will power to instill traits and characteristics in my sons that I never had someone instill in me from a man's perspective and vision. I've been faced with many obstacles in life… done things I'm not at all proud of… I'm human. I've made mistakes , name one person who ain't madone… But I tell you this, I didn't let my past mistakes dictate my future! And here I stand! Life is ¾ of outer influences tryna direct how "they see '' your life going and the ¼ is how you react to it! You can't see the picture of you the only one in the frame.

Where did I come from….? I came from a place that many don't make it out and the ones that do don't look back until it's time to, if that makes sense. I come from Nashville, Tennessee! A place where love equals hate and pain equals joy. A place that's forever embedded in my heart. Trials and tribulations from Nashville molded me to the man I am today! No regrets… you should visit sometime… Home of the NFL Tennessee Titans, NHL Nashville Predators, Nashville Sounds semi pro baseball team, Music City Kings Semi Pro basketball team, Music Row, and Broadway Street!.... Thank me later.

Where am I going…? It's already written… I'm just here for the ride.

Red Wolves: Avoiding Extinction Once Again. Between facing hunters, prey, and their own environmental habitats and obstacles, the Red Wolves seemed to have lost their battle and were determined extinct in the 1970s. Despite all the challenges that their DNA went through in 2018 their DNA Were Found Again!! Unknowingly right here in your very state Texas!! Living in the shadows of darkness but now has risen to the light!! Much like our very own. (Texas Red Wolves ABA Professional Basketball Team!) They doubted us.. Forgot about us.. Now we’re back and better than ever!! Ready to face the same obstacles and challenges everyone thought we had lost to. We are back!! Ready to execute, defeat, and be victorious!!! BY: Quinten

Jesse Sauceda Torres Jr. Chuy Jr. Art

TI am a local artist based out of San Antonio, Texas. I started my art career early in life but didn’t know that was what it was. I used to “tag” the walls of my room with whatever my imagination materialized; my mom always hated it. I have never taken any formal art training but learned a lot from the respected street artists of San Antonio. I grew up rough like many of us did back then. Art was always my escape.

Also, like many of us did back then, I started my family early, and was a father of three beautiful children by the time I was only 23 years old. My only focus was to take care of my family and did what we all did, hard back breaking work for many years. By the time I was twenty-five I owned my own remodeling company and had a pretty successful career. Art was not my top priority, but I did miss it. I would sometimes do pencil sketches just to decompress myself from the chaotic world of selfemployment.

Then unfortunately in 2015, I was in a bad car accident with someone texting and driving and my body could no longer handle the back breaking work that had supported my family all these years. Naturally art was there for me again. It calmed me when my mind was racing and didn’t know what my future looked like anymore. My wife of thirty years now, and all of my grown children were extremely supportive and convinced me to show people my art and participate in local art shows. I saw how people reacted to my art. They loved it! And wanted it for themselves. My art was inspired by my youth and growing up in the barrios of San Antonio. My memories of riding my bike, fried bologna sandwiches and my grandpa’s Stacey Addams shoes reminded so many others of how we all grew up.

Over the years I have worked with many non-profit organizations giving back to the same neighborhoods

7

that I grew up in. I have donated many art pieces to auction off where the proceeds would benefit these local charities. Being able to help others in any way I could was extremely satisfying and humbling, reminding me of my youth.

Art has taken us to places I never saw us going. I’m not letting my personal injuries deter me. Through my art I have had the opportunity to showcase in galleries, ship my paintings across the country for others to enjoy, meet lots of celebrities and inspire the younger generation of artists. I also encourage other artists saying, “If you really want to do it, you do it. Don’t give up, keep practicing! Surround yourself with supportive people and sketch every day.” I truly believe that “an adult artist is a child that survived.”

Last year my wife and I shook our quiet home up and brought my biological niece to come live with us. She is 10 years old and. She was growing up in the same type of chaos that took me years to get through and eventually survived.

We didn’t want her to face the same struggles and trauma that I did growing up, so we took her in and are intheprocessoflegallyadoptingher.I have shown her that through art she can heal, like I did. She inspires me all the time, and we love to paint together.

I have had my artwork published in a book called “Barrio Laredito” by Citilali Maria Zentella, and several online. Art hasservedmewellovertheyearsandI am happy to be a part of the local art community of San Antonio. Art has encouraged me to keep going, keep pushing on and don’t give up on myself. I have recently gone back to school to get my project management professional certification and utilize it to manage projects throughout San Antonio and become a part of the philanthropy community in a different way. I have a vision for my future once again!

You can find my recent works of art and future

Height: 6”1” Weight: 197lbs Shoes size: 11.5 or 12

Hometown/Resides: San Antonio, Texas

Experience:

High School: Roosevelt high school 4yrs

College: Central Baptist College Arkansas 1 year

George Gervin Team 1 year

Pro: Texas Red Wolves ABA 2022-2023

Things I’m interested In: Just playing games with all my close people. Going to the movies and really just being a full-time dad to my beautiful daughter!

Hello, my name is John Maag, I am 25 years old and my height is 6”1”, I reside in San Antonio, TX.

I attended Theodore Roosevelt High School Class of 2017. A few things about me: I love spending time with my daughter. I have her in the gym with me as much as possible. I started playing basketball in the 5th grade. In between playing football and basketball till the 9th grade. That is when I decided to play basketball full time and focus on furthering my career in basketball. In high school I played some of the top players and

11

teams around Texas and eventually made a name for myself and solidified what I can do on the court. I ended up picking up one and only offer and went on to get a scholarship to play at a small college in Conway, Arkansas called Central Babtist College. That is where I really developed as a person and become the man I am today on and off the court. It was a very small campus. It was a very humbling experience, literally the only thing I could do was play basketball. Every day and night I was in the gym!

My favorite quote is “You have to run your own race” ,basically don’t try to be like others on the court everyone develops different things faster or slower than others you might not be the best you might get the looks or offers you want but if you truly love doing something and it brings you peace stick with it no matter how hard times get. All the hard work late nights and early mornings will pay off and only you will see the results from the work you put in when nobody’s around! Something that people should know about me is: That I am a real funny and a very high-spirited person!

Joe Newman

The American Basketball Association (ABA) is a men’s professional basketball league. The league has grown to become the largest professional sports league in the world! In 1999 Joe Newman and Richard P. Tinkham founded the league. It is the re-launch of the original ABA which merged with the NBA in 1976. Tinkham co-founded both the original ABA and the Indiana Pacers. Joe Newman was the CEO of Joe Newman Advertising, Inc. and Alliance Broadcasting Group, Inc. The ABA was established in 1967 and merged with the National Basketball Association in 1976 [New Jersey Nets, San Antonio Spurs, Indiana Pacers, Denver Nuggets]. Some of the ABA notable players where: Julius Irving (Dr. J) George Gervin (The Iceman), Ricky Barry, Moses Malone along with, many others that came to be NBA players. The ABA was reformed in 2000 in partnership with the NBA and has been operating in harmony since. By Stephanie Garza

UNIQUE ABA RULES

● The ABA season runs from October through April (including playoffs).

● Four (4) twelve minute quarters

● Half-Court violation: the ABA is 7 seconds opposed to 8 seconds in the NBA to get across the half-court line. If an ABA team is not successful in getting over the half-court line within 7 seconds it results in a turnover which initiates the 3D light

● When the 3D Light is on: 2 pt. shots = 3 pts. | 3 pt. shots = 4 pts. | a half-court shot = 5 pts.

● Six (6) Fouls leads to a technical foul and the ball. Players cannot foul out of the game, but after six fouls it results in a technical and the opposing team gets the ball. The team that has the player with six fouls has the choice to keep that player in the game. However if he fouls again he receives not only the foul but also a technical foul.

Welcome to the ABA. As we enter into our 21st season, we are very proud to have become the largest professional sports league in the US, with 70% of our owners being AfricanAmerican, Hispanic, Asian, Native American and women. We are pleased to provide high quality professional basketball at affordable prices – and to provide thousands of opportunities on and off the court each year.
