INSPIRE YOURSELF A starting point coming from our intellect, emotions or prompt action. These are all paths we internally build to create what we call Inspiration. It is a process, a way of living to achieve what we aim for.If there was a path to bring innovation and ideas, what would it be? Anything can inspire us, but with the amount of information we are exposed to nowadays, our mind can simply get overwhelmed.A book by itself can be a unique product, open to multiple interpretations and an inspiration tool to different people in many different ways. But a book can also be a technical tool, simply organised, to help you bring your ideas into life. Covet House has the purpose of inspiring the design community with its new collection of inspirational books. This collection is one of the most powerful tools to boost creativity amongst the interior design community. This collection is composed of a series of different books for each room division. Every book has a deeper exploitation of ideas and a wide range of styles. This first book contains hundreds of ideas for Entryways and Hallways selected by a team of interior designers who searched for projects all over the world. It is a blend of projects from renowned interior designers and a combination of patterns from the most luxurious and exquisite brands.

Entryway by Boca do Lobo: Mondrian white sideboard by Boca do Lobo

The modern classic style is inspired by some iconic styles like Victorian and Art Deco but always combined with modern and minimalistic styles. The style is not the most modern but is up-to-date and very trendy. The color palette is often based on different tones of browns, beiges, blacks, whites and greys.

Neutral Colors work so well as a base as it keeps an interior looking fresh and styled without appearing dated. You can then use color to accent or highlight using star pieces of furniture, accessories or art. KELLY HOPPEN

THAT A CALM, QUIET AND HARMONIOUS INTERIOR CAN BE AS BENEFICIAL TO HEALTH AS A SENSIBLE DIET AND REGULAR EXERCISE KELLY HOPPEN

Open the door to a sophisticated contemporaneity and choose design pieces that combine the classic style with the most refined tastes from modern times. A background with the walls painted in neutral and light colours is all you need to start the decoration and give light to the entire area. In terms of furniture, you don’t always need several pieces to decorate the entryway. When the motto is ‘less is more’, a simple classic golden chair with an eye-catching mirror with small golden details can be the perfect formula to create an impressive and unique ambience in an entryway that is meant to be the perfect invitation to rest of the house. Entryway by Boca do Lobo: Forest cabinet | Hudson side table | Fortuna dining table

Add only a few modern details to the classic composition and the result could only be perfection. What could be a better inspiration source for interior design than History? History left us a precious heritage of eternal and iconic pieces of furniture that have the power to be completely up-to-date decade after decade, century after century. And if you combine them with modern and elegant lighting pendants, for instance, the interior design set will be polished enough to conquer the most refined tastes.

31

There are several options of classic pieces of furniture that are usually automatically associated to entryways. And with all those options, you basically have two options. You can either go with the flow or be original enough to make a strong statement of uniqueness and sophistication. One of those classic pieces that can be seen as must-have in an entryway is a mirror. Mirrors comprise a History full of mysteries and legends. But if you want to be original, then the secret here is to pick a model that, with its distinctiveness, doesn’t need anything else around it. Recreate a stunning mysterious ambience with a single mirror like this Marie Antoinette by Boca do Lobo and the set will be complete.

“Sometimes, opposites work pretty fine together Sometimes, opposites have the ability to work pretty fine together. And in the modern classic design, you have the freedom to combine several different materials, textures, patterns and even colours without the risk of failing. Consider an outstanding wood cabinet like Patch Cabinet by Boca do Lobo, which is truly iconic, by a high-gloss black side table on a soft and fluffy rug to warm the set.

37

Entryway by Boca do Lobo: Piccadilly cabinet | Ring rectangular mirror

One very important aspect (and maybe the most crucial starting point) in interior design is that your house is the most immediate reflection of your personality. And, at the same time, the entryway is the very first thing you get to see from a house. With that in mind, think of what you are and how you want others to see you before decorating an entryway. The combination of the warm and earthy colours from the picture is perfect if you want to recreate a romantic and seductive entryway. Complete that hypnotising ambience with a simple and elegant white velvet armchair by a side table and mirror with elegant and Nature-inspired details.

I experience my interiors as sculpture. I play with texture, scale and dimension to create a sense of drama. I want to tell a story. KELLY WEARSTLER

As we have already mentioned, an entryway is basically the faรงade of your home, the very first room of it that your guests get to see and experience. Make a strong statement with golden details and the softness of velvet, symbols of a wealthy and opulent lifestyle. Sculpt your own entryway with Heritage and Modern Times with pieces as the Filigree Mirror, the Sinuous Console and Eden Ceramic Black Side Table by Boca do Lobo and the Bourbon Armchair by Brabbu.

“Nature is simple, elegant and provides the most wonderful colourful palette compositions.

Just like History, Nature offers an endless source of inspiration for perfect and infallible interior design arrangements. Nature is simple, elegant and provides the most wonderful colourful palette compositions. Gia II Chandelier by Koket recalls one of the most elegant flowers and shows how flexible the golden tone is. From the immense family of the yellow shades, you can combine golden with an infinite list of colours and materials, such as blue velvet for an impeccable and sharp entrance. 43

It’s a fact that there are several possible compositions to decorate a hallway. And it’s also a fact that interior design is not exactly a precise science. It comes from the soul, from feelings, memories and needs. And your house is your most sacred place. Fill it with good energies and enlighten it with unique pieces of furniture that are a pleasure to the eye day after day. In the picture above, the entryway has the excellent advantage of receiving some natural light from the other room and, with the selected interior design, that shine was enlightened even more with the neutral and beige wallpaper and the golden hoops from the console.

Everything is about colour. If you look at magazines and advertising and television, the thing you remember is the colour. KELLY WEARSTLER Before starting with an entryway decoration, you need to pay close attention to Nature. Take a great and close look at how colours merge naturally with one another. Pick a strong and vivid colour and you can start decorating from it. Recreate a bold and unforgettable scenario in your entryway with it. It can be a full painted wall, a marble surface or a simple detail like an armchair.

49

A classic modern interior design is all about refinement and sophistication. But, in order to get a decoration that comprises that style, you don’t always need to use large pieces of furniture or a combination of several expensive accessories. It’s all about the quality of the materials and the style featured by the pieces chosen to decorate a room. Sometimes, all you need to reach for perfection and a superior entryway composition is a lighting fixture that embraces the elegance of glass with the richness of the gold colour. A small detail like a wall lamp can work as a true piece of art and make all the difference in the entire decoration.

“They may not talk, but they have the power to say a lot about the owner.

It’s a fact that time passes really quickly and that makes everything in a constant change, especially in the world of fashion and interior design. There were times that people looked more at the functionality of their homes. And apart from the style beneath it, function was the key aspect to consider. Furniture is not only about functionality anymore. Pieces of furniture like consoles can do so much more that hold vases and family pictures. They may not talk, but they have the power to say a lot about the owner. Consoles like the one pictured here have the ability to reflect an excellent good taste, the constant look for uniqueness and to be unique and cause a strong and unforgettable impression.

Modern times brought a new whole world of possibilities and allowed combinations when it comes to mixing colours and materials. There is no more the rule of decorating an entire room with only one colour. You are totally free to combine black with gold, as you see in the picture, which is actually a combination that is present in the most deluxe decoration sets. Just like consoles, mirrors are no longer a simple piece of glass that you use to check yourself before leaving to the outside world. Mirrors can be a strong statement for themselves. Pick a mirror with an eye-catching design for an infallible interior design.

“The mixture of weird textures and organics urfaces creates an interesting dialogue.” KELLY WEARSTLER

You can have the most fun when decorating an area of your home if you consider it more as a funny game of mixing different colours, textures, surfaces and materials, rather than simply following rules. Think of it as a really nice conversation and don’t be afraid to be bold. The result can only be a truly and unique piece of art. 61

In this funny game of interior design, you are totally free to combine a classic white velvet armchair or sofa with a black and white tiled floor and with a golden and a completely out of the ordinary folding screen. Consider it as if you were bringing the bright sunshine into the entrance of your home. I am sure it will be an unforgettable experience to whoever crosses with it. More, since gold is one of the most significant symbols of wealth and prosperity, if you decorate the entryway with such an impressive golden piece of art, it will be a strong reflection of your resilient personality and a solid statement of your free lifestyle.

If you want to recreate an area of your house (or your entirely house) with a modern classic style, you can simply do it by taking a few iconic and classic figures, concepts and pieces of furniture that the past heritage left us and give them a new configuration with a modern twist. The colour palette used in the living room was based on a neutral background. Elegant, lavish and stylish is how one can describe the renovation of a Haussmann style apartment in Paris, signed by Patricia Mauguy Flores from PFBDesign. The renovation of this private residence had one main goal, and it was successfully achieved: to enhance the majesty of the high ceilings and the ornating mouldings given to the apartment, with a creative symbiosis between luxury furniture and an eclectic colour scheme. The colour palette used in the dining room was based on a neutral background. It’s a chamber with plenty of natural light, filtered by white and lilac curtains, which give the room a greater height. This allowed the designer to go for a bold turquoise set of chairs and an audacious purple rug. The two grand chairs at both tops of the dining table, NAMIB also from Brabbu, were custom made to perfectly match the room design.

...an interesting formal dialogue between the blue, with warm and soft organic forms, and the grey, of straight lines with a cleaner geometry... Christopher Coleman project for a South American family’s New York pied-à-terre in a new high-rise on the Upper West Side, Coleman opted for a palette of white with blue accents, a clean, sleek look that showcases the family’s collection of Latin American art. It also used a white base to soften the space and at the same time to accentuate the colour of the environments. In the living room, there’s a custom-made rug, with a contemporary geometric pattern in shades of grey, blue and yellow. The details give the clue to the colour scheme of the environment, which also has two elegant sofas in the same shades of grey and blue, plus two chairs covered in a bright yellow as prominent pieces.

The design of the sofas creates an interesting formal dialogue between the blue, with warm and soft organic forms, and the grey, of straight lines with a cleaner geometry. Throughout the environment, there’s smaller pieces carefully selected within the couple’s collection. The small sculptures also give an intimate touch to the living room, where yellow is the highlight of both the accessories and chairs combined with the elegantly striped pattern of the rug, which is repeated in the sofa upholstery

“Bringing nature inside in a classy and elegant way is what characterizes the brand’s projects.” Zhukovka 49 was an experimental project by Russian Architectural bureau PH.D founded in 2003 by Lana Grineva in Moscow. What was required here was the fully redesigning of the interior of a mansion house with an area of 1,200m² in a short time period and with a strict budget due to the requirement of placing it rapidly on the market. New colours, combinations, textures and materials had to be selected. It was in this context that Brabbu’s designs were selected to be part of this residential project by PH.D. The pieces chosen from Brabbu collection were: Lallan coffee table made with four different materials and finishes as pallisander veneer, black lacquer, polished brass and antique brass; Inca Armchair made in velvet and legs in ebony wood veneer with a glossy varnish. The distinctive feature of PH.D is the masterful work with colours, a tasteful mix of natural materials, textures and scales and that totally recalls Brabbu’s identity. Bringing nature inside in a classy and elegant way is what characterises the brand’s projects.

Glamorous nature transformed by man’s hand. BRABBU | Vellum suspension light

A lounge interior design project assembled by Brabbu design forces, with a predominant upholstery in purple colour and velvet materials, represents a sign of luxury and modern decor. A modern furniture piece that aims to transmit confidence. There are two inspiring centre tables, made out of a combination of four different materials and finishes, such as pallisander veneer, black lacquer, polished brass and antique brass. The richness of this division is enhanced by the lighting work disposition made in this area. Brabbu’s Vellum light family sets the history of this living and contemporary lighting pieces as a symbolization of Glamorous nature transformed by man’s hand. Both wall and suspension lighting pieces set the mood of this modern classic home decor.

A private residence made in by Arch.Predmet studio in partnership with design company Boca do Lobo, the designers used the beams, battens and lamellas to produce the best effect, which was possible due to the architecture. Such techniques added complexity and diversity to a space featuring the minimum amount of materials being used, laconic furniture items and quiet colours. They have combined contemporary design and natural materials. When the designers first visited the house, they saw empty space without any partitions.

No room can be called perfect unless it has real comfort. DOROTHY DRAPER This living space is mainly influenced by its natural light. All the furnishings inside get a different aura highlighted by the power of natural forces. In this project, the living corner is a perfect reading section inside a contemporary home. Composed by an armchair, Daylan is made of feminine shapes and neutral tones, meant to bring beauty to every decor. As a support to long and relaxing reading sessions, the Koi centre table shines and reflects, on its brass surface, the sun caught throughout the clear water.

For small living spaces, interior design is an essential tool to make the most of the space available. In both Brabbu’s projects, every detail counts when designing the perfect modern classic area. In both livings, the sideboards are a special support to the elegance in any modern home decor. The screens are quite decorative and a clever solution to create different sections in the same living area. An inspiring force of nature essence remarked by the lighting pieces in both designed projects.

Finding harmony in each space and understanding the individuality and necessity of each client. Finding harmony in each space and understanding the individuality and necessity of each client, it’s what, since the beginning, rules Brabbu design and philosophy. This time is in Barcelona that nature’s stories of our pieces express itself, merging in a romantic ambience that challenges its own concept, imposing itself as an “Art Apartment”. This apartment was renewed by the interior design studio Recdi8. The 4 Maya Accent Chairs, upholstered in velvet, are part of the decoration of the living room of this apartment, being the main responsible for contrasting with the colours of the ambience, bringing harmony to all the decor.

Living room by Recdi8 Studio: Maya armchair by Brabbu

Nature inspirations in the romanticism and rococo styles. The Recdi8 team studied the building’s history and the apartment itself in Barcelona’s Example district. so as to be able to recover the original elements that have been disappearing during the last decades. All the pieces in this project were chosen considering the theme: nature inspirations in the romanticism and rococo styles. It’s because of this classic scenario with small Mid-century design feelings that Brabbu’s pieces were included.

“The use of sautéed colours, combined with darker shades, is present in these walls.”

BRABBU | Apache table light

BRABBU | Como armchair

A state of the newest trends for modern interior design. The use of sautéed colours, combined with darker shades, is present in these walls. This super sophisticated living is accented by the velvet green sofa, a true symbol of luxury. Balanced with a dimension point created by the mirror Kaamos from Brabbu, which embodies the ambiguity matte walnut root veneer contrasts and intersects with the brass and copper leaf, which are then reflected in the round mirror. On the right interior project, almost with the same inspirations, there’s a lighting piece that stands out and gives the room an upper level of splendour. It’s the Cyrus floor light, which was inspired by the freedom and the vast culture of the Persian civilisation. Made in polished brass. Luxurious, yet, sober and exquisite.

A combo of neutrals, suitable to calm and relaxing areas, containing also a soft elegant mood with nature inspirations. The Andes sofa resembles strong graceful piece, proper for any classic modern living space. With polished brass legs and cotton velvet fabric. Nevertheless, we must not forget that the right mix keeps a space feeling current, not contrived. Neutral walls and colour saturated sofas are the inspiration for modern interiors.

Living room by Brabbu: Niku wall lamp, Cay wall lamp, kyan console, Cyrus floor lamp, Bourbon sofa and Baltic rug by Brabbu

Modern livings are settled with a cosy modern contemporary furniture piece that combines harmoniously the softness of the velvet with the strength of the legs in polished brass. That’s the reflection of Brabbu design, with the Hermes sofa. The Horus, suspension light, reflects the light to every corner of the modern home decor due to its transparency, which will lighten up your mood. Perfectly combined the entire scenario, adding another point of light and dimension to this room, the Iris mirror changes and controls our perception of light, shapes, and colours. All this is featured through the ebony veneer, details of gold leaf and the gloss beige lacquered, which reminds the wings of the goddess Iris.

Nature rises to its finest by this refine and luxurious living room, a combination of modern predominance, such as the combo of green, blue and gold that embodies the room into a comfy and modern way of living. Brabbu designs this contemporary furniture, like the green Wales sofa, a burgundy velvet sofa, with curvy back and arms, base in vintage brass and polished golden nails, which enhances this classic living room set. Or the Aurum suspension light, a brass chandelier that will bring you comfort in the darkest nights with its warm and sensitive light. Perfect to turn your modern home decor into an exquisite refuge, during the day or during night.

DINING ROOMS KITHCENS WORLDWIDE SELLECTION Food nurtures the mind, body and soul. The Kitchen is by many considered to be the heart of the home, a place of bonding experiences. The dining room serves the continuation of this experience. Although different cultures have different ways of interacting with these spaces, generally the kitchen and the dining room should be designed to be welcoming and conducive for people to come together. These are rooms in which you can make a real statement, whether about your cooking skills or your personal tastes.

Notice how the bright colour and clear table allow visual airiness. Traditional dining rooms can be generously proportioned whereas smaller-scale furnishings in modern designs will suit contemporary tastes well. Open plans are still trending, and many, whether urban or suburban, integrate dining spaces into contiguous living and kitchen areas. Be generous with circulation clearances in open plan interiors while balancing formality using artwork and its position within a kitchen area. In this example, notice how the bright colour and the clear table allow visual airiness while the rug brings colour, texture, warmth and style to the dining room.

Use marble to give a classic touch to your dining room decor while still staying modern. A decorative lighting piece really sets the tone of the entire dining room, as you can understand, and so it has a greater aesthetic importance than in the kitchen, where in contrast, you will need more practical and brighter lighting. You can also use marble to give a classic touch to your dining room dĂŠcor while still staying modern. It is great for table tops with its qualities and texture.

Don’t forget to work the walls

BOCA DO LOBO | Heritage dining table

Whether it’s once a year or every night, we want our family and friends to be happy in the dining room with more than just our excellent food and company. Fully upholstered dining chairs look incredibly comfortable. Gently moulded seats and rounded backs for lumbar support ensure guests will enjoy their stay. Don’t forget to work the walls around the dining table as well. Cabinets, consoles, mirrors, artworks, benches, shelves… all can be very useful additions to a space while, at the same time, make it feel more welcoming and propotional.

Inspired by a modern classic colour scheme, this ambience combines classic brown tones and traditional techniques with modern and bold lines. The Heritage dining table is the star of this project, a piece that’s a tribute to the hand painted tiles of Portuguese history. The contrast of classic with a bold design turns this dining room unique and fascinating.

Wood, with its warmth and texture, is an ideal material for any dining room, in which you want to feel welcomed. In this case, we can also see how the material with its different shades play an important role in layering this space and giving it contrasts. Chairs can usually be mixed in with bolder and more vibrant colours. The choice of fabric here is a very crucial aspect that can make or break the visual experience.

It’s paired with some stunning, timeless Fritz Hansen’s selections like the swan and the egg chairs. Learn to look not just with your eyes but with your heart. The truth is that style and taste are all relative. It is not a question whether or not someone has good taste. It is how something feels to the individual. Open your heart and mind to the world, and find the things that connect with you. How else will you know how to design your home? KELLY HOPPEN
