Revealing Hidden Histories is the result of an European adult education project titled HIDD – Hidden Histories – Intercultural Dialogue and Learning. Project partners from four countries – Great Britain, Ireland, Finland, and Austria – were successful in engaging people from Deaf, rural, and migrant communities in dialogue with each other and with people from outside their communities. The project partners relied on proven methods to address and bring these people together in cooperation. The strategy of HIDD built on aspects of community learning, life history, alternative and innovative approaches in informal learning. The aim of the project was to increase the personal skills of the people involved in creating and designing exhibitions, and of those who would finally have the chance to experience the results.

We invite you to share and learn from our experience! Participants to the training will learn about the methods applied in HIDD. They will test and be able to apply these referring to their own professional context. After completing the training you will not only have knowledge about but will be able to conceive and conduct narrative interviews and capture the results on video. Above that you will engage in processing and disseminating the results using social media. The training also offers the opportunity to meet colleagues from other European countries, exchange ideas and maybe to find partners for your own future project. Get a full picture from the project results presented on our website: http://hiddenhistories.euproject.org and a more detailed description of the training in the European Course Database (Reference Number.: AT-2013-363-002): http://bit.ly/QT1Ot8

Retzhof Castle - The perfect location for our training Retzhof Castle (www.retzhof.at), once the seat of a noble family, lies at the heart of the Southern Styrian wine region. The medieval estate was converted to a country house during the transition from the Middle Ages to the modern period. The Retzhof has been a further educational institute of the state of Styria since 1948. Retzhof offers guests a healthy and tasty regional cuisine – also tailored to individual wishes or requests. Great value is placed on the use of fairly traded products. The newly built guest house as well as all facilities within the castle (seminar rooms) and outdoor are barrier-free.
