BA (Hons) TEXTILES

Arts University Bournemouth

The work presented in this book demonstrates the enthusiasm and diligence that the students have employed over the past 3 years.

Our vision is to inspire and encourage the individual creative textile designer maker through the reflection and refinement of their practice, enabling them to position themselves at the forefront of creative design. I believe they have achieved this!

Our emphasis as a course has been placed upon strong craft and making skills coupled with innovation and technology.

We have promoted a broad range of textiles skills: dye, print, stitch, manipulation, construction, weave and digital design, whilst asking the students to focus upon the context and market in which their personalised developments fall.

Our focus therefore has been creativity in context, encouraging enterprise, initiative and inquiry in readiness for a career within the breadth of creative textiles and design.

I hope you enjoy viewing their creativity and achievements as much as we have enjoyed being a part of their future.
