Bisonhome is a ceramics company turned lifestyle range established in 1997 by Canberra local, Brian Tunks. Brian attended school in Scandinavia and trained in ancient history and archaeology at the Australian National University. His wares are a fusion of Asian and Scandinavian design resulting in a pared-back aesthetic with simple lines and pure colours. Ceramics are at the heart of Bisonhome and its ori vase has become an iconic piece and staple item in many homes around the world. Oat Studio is a local textile business established by Canberra local, Sarah Annand. Sarah has spent over a decade in the textile industry following a background in art and photography. Oat Studio designs are influenced by architecture, reflective of Sarah’s early photography studies focusing on New Zealand architecture and inspired by the brutalist and modernist structures scattered throughout the ACT. Sarah’s collection of textiles is made to order and printed with colourfast, water-based inks on natural fabrics including luxurious linen, perfect for drapery, upholstery and soft furnishings. TREVOR DICKINSON

You may not know Trevor Dickinson by name, but you’ll likely be familiar with his series of drawings featuring Canberra’s iconic, retro bus shelters. Originally from London, Trevor moved to Australia in 2002, pursuing his love of drawing as he explored the streets of Newcastle, NSW with his sketchpad and pen. In 2012, Trevor spent six weeks as the printmaker-in-residence at Canberra‘s Megalo Print studio and gallery where he produced the Greetings from Canberra print collection. His unique work can be found across Canberra at the National Portrait Gallery, National Gallery of Australia, the National Museum and National Library, among other locations. Tommy Balogh is an experimental artist specialising in large format, abstract works that transform with coloured light and plexiglass. CHRIS HARFORD

Chris Harford is a local, award-winning ceramicist who makes highly crafted, bespoke tableware in stoneware and porcelain. Chris has been a potter for over 30 years and creates contemporary tableware for some of Canberra’s finest restaurants. He is well-known for his specialty ‘trout’ glaze and sought-after teapots, all of which have won awards for their distinctive design. Chris is the former head of the Canberra Potters’ Society and is now the Society’s artist-in-residence. F!NK + Co is a local design and manufacturing studio with the aim of creating opportunities for Australian designer-makers. Established in 1993 by the late Robert Foster, and joined by Gretel Harrison in 1995, F!NK + Co has become a producer of world-class tableware, hollowware, jewellery and lighting and their designs have been commissioned for leading businesses, restaurants, hotels and wineries across Australia and internationally. They are best known for their iconic water jug and its innovative and distinctive design; the jug was produced in 1993 and remains the agency’s signature piece to this day. Chelsea Lemon is a Canberra-based designer and maker of handcrafted timber furniture and homewares.
