Make a splash: The South Coast’s best swimming pools
Summer’s here so that means it’s time to take a dip and cool off, but don’t just head to the beach. Instead, visit one of the South Coast’s many swimming pools – from indoor, outdoor and natural ocean pools. There’s something for everyone in the region, so here’s your list of where to beat the heat this season.

BAY PAVILIONS
Bay Pavilions is located at Batemans Bay and offers a range of indoor and outdoor swimming pools to enjoy this summer. Indoors, you will find a 25-metre lap pool with eight lanes and ramp access, and a warm indoor water pool, heated to 34 degrees and designed for rehabilitation and relaxation. There’s also a leisure pool, which includes a dedicated learn-to-swim space as well as a play area for toddlers and infants. For those that love fun and thrills, don’t miss the four exhilarating Garungadj water slides, which finish both indoors and out with areas including complete darkness, flashing colourful sections, fast speeds and deep water.
MOLLYMOOK BOGEY HOLE
The Mollymook Bogey Hole is a natural rock pool sitting on the headland of Mollymook Beach located between the “Golfie” surfing reef break, the Beachside golf course and Mollymook Beach’s southern headland. This large tidal rock pool is a magical spot and is ideal for swimming laps, a relaxing dip or even some snorkelling on the outer shelf. Alongside this picturesque swimming hole is also a sheltered area, which is perfect for sunbathers and picnic goers.

BERMAGUI BLUE POOL
Bermagui’s Blue Pool on the Sapphire Coast is one of the famous ocean pools in NSW. The 50-metre pool was built in 1939 and gets its name for the stunning blue colour that comes as a reflection from the overhead blue skies. It is carved and set into the rock face, and is split in two pools – one large and one small. The pool is not only ideal for swimming laps or a casual swim, but also great for snorkelling as it is home to diverse marine life, including fish, snails, crabs and nudibranchs. There’s also a viewing platform with picture perfect views out to the ocean.
MORUYA WAR MEMORIAL SWIMMING POOL
Moruya War Memorial Swimming Pool is an outdoor heated swimming facility open seven days a week throughout the summer. Located on the banks of the Moruya River, the site is not only the perfect spot for swimming, but offers lots of shady and grassy areas for relaxing, picnics and sunbathing. Swimmers can expect the water to get to 27degrees in the season.

NAROOMA SWIMMING POOL
Narooma Swimming Pool is an indoor heated facility open every day of the week all year round. The centre has recently been renovated and offers a 50-metre heated indoor pool and an outdoor water play area.
BILLABONG INDOOR POOL
Billabong Indoor Pool is located on Kettle Road in Long Beach. This indoor pool is great for lap swimming, classes, lessons, and to cool off on a hot summer’s day.

ULLADULLA LEISURE CENTRE
The Ulladulla Leisure Centre is one of the South Coast’s best facilities for indoor and outdoor swimming. There’s a 50-metre outdoor pool, a 25-metre indoor pool, plus a learner pool, toddler pool, spa pool, aqua fitness classes for adults and swimming classes for kids. The site is a great spot for the whole family to relax, enjoy and unwind, plus there’s also a cafe, child minding facilities and free WIFI.

ASLINGS BEACH ROCKPOOL
Located in Eden, the Aslings Beach Rockpool is one of the southernmost pools along the South Coast. Opened in 1904, this lovely rockpool is located at the southern end of the beach and is a great spot for a swim, especially for the little ones. It is also one of the most scenic outdoor pools, with stunning views of the ocean and the surrounding pink and white cliffs.
HUSKISSON SEA POOL
The Huskisson Sea Pool is located in the heart of Voyager Memorial Park and overlooks the stunning Jervis Bay. Built in 1965, the 48-metre sea pool is fully fenced and is a serene spot to do some lap swimming or for the whole family to cool off and have fun.
