Zig Zag Zoo ELS

QUEENSTOWN, NEW ZEALAND

We have two Zig Zag Zoo Early Learning Centres in Queenstown (the Adventure Capital of the World). Our educators are passionate and enthusiastic about providing a respectful, responsive and peaceful educational learning programme for all infants and children.

The Centres’ staff are inspired by the principles of Pikler and Gerber (RIE) which believe that only when emotionally satisfied, can the child genuinely learn, and that all babies deserve to be cared for with respect. The team embrace the Reggio philosophy which is based upon forming respectful, responsive, reciprocal relationships which value others’ opinions, viewpoints and interpretations. The educators encourage the curiosity of children and allow them to question and research the reasons for all that surrounds them.

By combining the Reggio and Gerber philosophies together with Te Whāriki the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum, each child will grow up as a competent and confident learner and communicator, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging.
