ENTERTAINMENT Hello! I’m Elayna and I just moved to this pretty new city named Monticello. Mom and Dad are so excited to settle down here as there’s so much to do and so much going on! I’m excited to try out all the family friendly entertainment. Mom said Monticello has everything from a movie theater and a bowling alley to great schools and even a university! I can have all of my education in just one city, isn’t that neat? I just can’t wait!

SCHOOLS

Dad said he wanted to make sure I was in great shape for school, so while Mom finished my paperwork for school, he took me to see a pediatrician. That’s a big word for children’s doctor. I learned it today! Mainline Health Systems has a great pediatrician and a new facility that is so nice! Dr. Crystal Little was so nice to me and was impressed with how healthy of a big girl I am! I sure liked Dr. Little and all the great nurses! They even had people there who can take care of my mom and dad when they get sick, too!

WELCOME TO MAINLINE

Mr. Brandon Lyon over at Cass Martin helped us find the perfect house! I have a nice room all to myself and a big yard to play in! He was super helpful and worked with my mom and dad to find the best house in all of Monticello for us to move in to. I’m sure glad we got his help! I’d hate to have to pick out a house for mom and dad on my own. They didn’t like my idea of living in a tree house.

Apparently Mom and Dad needed some money for our new house, so they talked to the friendly people over at Union Bank. They helped my mom and dad to find the right options for borrowing money that best fit their needs in no time at all! Everyone was so helpful and the nice people behind the desks thought I was pretty. One lady even helped Mom and Dad sign me up for the Johnny Appleseed program so that I could start saving money now! I’m super excited!

Our new house needed some

updates on the air conditioning, so

we went to Griffin. They explained what all they could do to make our

house stay the perfect temperature year-round. Dad was very happy

with the quote he got and said he was going to hire the nice people at Griffin for all our heating and cooling needs!

Dad said the new yard was going to need mowing done so he went to Majors Forest and Lawn to

get a fancy new riding mower.

Mrs. Michelle and the crew there helped him get the perfect mower

to keep our yard looking awesome, at a great price! They also had trimmers, leaf blowers and

more to help make Dad happy with our new lawn!

We got a new truck today! Mommy heard about the credit guarantee at Ryburn Automotive and knew

we’d have a great chance at getting a great truck if we went there. The

salespeople were super helpful and made sure we got the right vehicle

for our family. They had some funny

names like Super Dave and Mr. Make It Happen. They also had a Mr. Mike and Mr. Steve (who has a doggie!)

After we got the paperwork, we

went over to Commercial Bank and finished getting everything set up

for our new truck. Everyone was so

nice and they made it super easy for Mom and Dad to get the truck and

get on the road! They had loans for

all kinds of things there. I wanted to get a loan for a new tree house, but

Daddy said we’d have to “see about that”. I think that means no.

We took our fancy new truck and went to Sonic because Mommy said she was craving a grape slush. Sonic has so many drink and food options, I couldn’t make up my mind! I finally decided to get the chili cheese dog and tots. The drink options are even harder because of all the combinations. Dad gave up after a bit and settled on a cranberry Sprite. Don’t knock it til you’ve tried it, like Mommy says!

After eating, Daddy said it was a good time to go grocery shopping. We needed to fill our house up with all our favorite foods. So, we went to Save A Lot. Mommy had heard about the great deals on everything from produce and meats to snacks and frozen foods that could be found right here in Monticello! I got some of my favorite grapes to snack on after school.

I saw an ambulance today and asked Mommy about it. She said that was Monticello Ambulance Service, Inc. and that they were a fast emergency service that helped people with life threatening emergencies. She told me she heard about them and that if we are ever in a bad situation and need an ambulance, her and Daddy were going to ask for MASI.

Mom said she was getting tired and Dad said he heard about the locally

owned and operated Monticello Coffee Company. When we showed up, Mom got a mocha and Dad got a cafĂŠ con

miel. I’m not really sure what those are, but I sure did enjoy getting to

sit in the nook and read one of their books! Mom and Dad seemed really

happy with their choices and the staff

there was so nice! I enjoyed getting to meet Ms. Annette!

Oh boy! Since I seemed to enjoy reading so much, Mom took me to the Monticello Branch Library today and helped me get a library card! I love to read and the library has so many books for kids my age to read, as well as fun programs and events for me to join! I heard about art classes and more for after school and I am sure excited!

Oh no! Our new truck got banged up a bit when Dad was driving. Luckily, Dad knew he could take it down to Razorback Body Shop and they got those dents out in no time at all! I really liked meeting them and was surprised at how fast they took care of our car. I told Daddy bumper cars was for carnivals, not in real life.

After Dad got the dents fixed, he realized the tires on the other vehicle were not good anymore. Thankfully, Mr. Tommy and Mr. Jack at Monticello Tire had just what he needed! With great tires at great prices, my daddy got back on the road with peace of mind in no time!

For dinner, Daddy said he wanted to treat us to some Mexican food and took us to Ameca! They had such yummy burritos, rice and beans for me to eat. My favorite! Mommy loved the variety and how great the prices were! Mr. Mario was super nice and came to welcome us to Monticello.

At the end of the day, it was nice to get to lay down in my comfy

bed and just rest. It sure was a

crazy day here in Monticello! I just know I’m going to enjoy it here. I think I’ll just close my eyes for a second and….
