Steven Fein, MD, MPH Medical Director of Fem Infusion CentersBy testing working women for iron, your office will improve women's wellbeing and productivity, as well as the development of their babies.
Iron deficiency is the most common nutrient deficiency, but it’s usually not caused by “malnutrition.” The main causes of low iron are menstrual periods and pregnancies. This is why low iron is a “women's health” issue. In fact, 25 percent of all women with periods have very low iron, and 25 percent of all pregnant women have very low iron.
This is a public health problem that affects our world in many ways. It’s a major cause of gender inequality because working women with low iron may not be productive or focused. Women who have low iron attributed to heavy menstrual bleeding may miss work more often than others, so they may miss out on a raise or promotion.
Working women who are pregnant also need to ensure they have enough iron for their pregnancy and their baby. It has been proven that pregnancy outcomes and baby development are affected by having enough iron.
The only way to know whether you have low iron is through blood testing. All women with menstrual periods need iron testing every 1-2 years, and all pregnant women need iron testing before the third trimester. This testing is often not done by doctors unless it’s requested by their patients.

The Superfood for Weight Loss
Cayenne Pepper
By Annette ImbornoneWhen it comes to weight loss, people often turn to fad diets and pills that promise quick results. However, there is a natural ingredient that has been scientifically proven to aid in weight loss: cayenne pepper.
Cayenne pepper, also known as red pepper, is a type of chili pepper commonly used in cooking. It contains a compound called capsaicin, which is responsible for its spicy taste and numerous health benefits.
One of the main benefits of cayenne pepper is its ability to boost metabolism. Capsaicin has been shown to increase metabolic rate by up to 25%, leading to more calories burned throughout the day. This effect is known as thermogenesis, and it can aid in weight loss by helping the body burn fat more efficiently.
In addition to boosting metabolism, cayenne pepper can also help suppress appetite. Studies have shown that consuming cayenne pepper can reduce feelings of hunger and increase feelings of fullness, leading to a decrease in
calorie intake. This is due to capsaicin's ability to stimulate the release of hormones that regulate appetite.
Cayenne pepper also has antiinflammatory properties, which can be beneficial for weight loss. Chronic inflammation has been linked to obesity and metabolic disorders, so reducing inflammation in the body may aid in weight loss and improve overall health.
Furthermore, cayenne pepper may help prevent the development of fat cells. A study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry found that capsaicin can inhibit the growth of fat cells and reduce the accumulation of fat in the body.
But cayenne pepper isn't just beneficial for weight loss. It has numerous other health benefits as well. For example, it can help lower blood pressure, improve digestion and reduce pain.
So how can you incorporate cayenne pepper into your diet? There are many ways to enjoy the benefits of this superfood. You can add it to your meals as a seasoning, sprinkle it on roasted vegetables or mix it into soups and sauces. You can also take cayenne pepper supplements, which are available in capsule form.
However, it's important to note that cayenne pepper is not a miracle weight loss solution. It should be used in conjunction with a healthy diet and regular exercise for best results. Additionally, it may not be suitable for everyone, as it can cause gastrointestinal discomfort in some individuals.
Cayenne pepper is a superfood that can aid in weight loss and improve overall health. Its ability to boost metabolism, suppress appetite and reduce inflammation make it a valuable addition to any diet. So why not spice up your meals with some cayenne pepper and enjoy the numerous benefits it has to offer?
Capsaicin can inhibit the growth of fat cells and reduce the accumulation of fat in the body.
Wherever you live, there’s a lot of summer just waiting for you. “If your mid-year plans include traveling, you’ll want to squeeze plenty of fun from the experience,” says Dr. Juan Estrada, CEO of Sanitas Medical Center. “But you’ll also want to protect against safety risks. You can have both.”
To help you plan ahead, consider these summer tips:
Before you leave
A little planning can go a long way toward making the most of your travels.
•Be sure to pack a supply of all your prescription medications, and keep them cool and dry.
•Do the same for medical supplies and equipment (like glucose monitoring strips for diabetes or CPAP equipment for sleep apnea).
•Make sure your health records are accessible digitally in case of emergency.
•Pack extra quantities of any nonmedical items you can’t replace easily while you’re away.
•If you’re a patient of Sanitas Medical Center, make sure to download the mySanitas app on your mobile devices, so you can reach your doctor’s office or consult the app symptom checker, if needed.
Sun safety
Everyone loves sunny weather. But too much of a good thing can cause problems.
•Wear protective lightweight clothes, including sunglasses and a hat or cap, while you’re outside—even on cloudy days.
•Use broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 15 or higher). Reapply after two hours if you’ve been swimming or sweating.
Summer planning helps you stay healthy
•Avoid direct sunlight during midday hours (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.), when the sun’s rays are strongest.
•Remember to cool off often: Take a dip in a pool or body of water, a rest in an air-conditioned space or stay in the shade.
Water safety
There’s no better time to take a swim course. They’re offered through community organizations like your local American Red Cross.
•If children will be with you, give them your full attention whenever they’re near water.
•Avoid the distraction of mobile devices, while supervising children in the water.
•Swim in areas that have lifeguards on duty.
•Watch out for aquatic life and sharp surfaces, even in freshwater.
•At the beach, if you get caught in an undertow, swim parallel to the shore until you’re out of the current.
•If the weather turns, watch and listen for thunder and lightning—get out of the water at the first sign.
•If you’ll be boating, wear lifejackets approved by the U.S. Coast Guard.
Bug safety
Critters that fly and crawl may just be annoying, but they can pose health risks, including infection and disease.
•Always use repellant formulated with DEET, and cover your arms and legs while hiking.
•Gently seal off wrists and ankles so bugs can’t get under your clothes.
•Avoid being outdoors at dusk and dawn—that’s when bugs are most likely to congregate.
•If camping, stay away from standing water, and be sure to check for bugs throughout the day.
•If you bring pets, check them too, and use a pet-safe repellant.
Food safety
Whether you’re camping or just enjoying an afternoon picnic, you can avoid mishaps and dangers with a little planning.
•Bring hand sanitizer and, if you’ll be grilling, a food thermometer.
•Make sure you have plenty of ice, and keep hot (cooked) and cold (uncooked) foods separated to help prevent spoilage and contamination.
•Never use a grill indoors or in any enclosed area, and never pour lighter fluid on a hot surface or flame. Place your grill far from any buildings, trees or bushes.
•Avoid dehydration by drinking plenty of water and other non-carbonated, unsweetened beverages that don’t contain alcohol.
Make this summer one to remember. Stay healthy and safe—and remember to take lots of pictures.

Vitamin C Vitamin C
THE SKINCARE POWERHOUSE YOU NEED IN YOUR ROUTINE
By Giselle TaylorIt seems like everywhere you look these days, there's a new skin care product boasting the benefits of vitamin C. And for good reason-this powerful antioxidant has become a staple in many women's daily skin care routines. Here's why vitamin C is so good for your skin, and why you should consider incorporating it into your own regimen.
Vitamin C is a natural antioxidant that helps protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are harmful molecules that are generated by environmental stressors like pollution and UV radiation, and can contribute to premature aging and other skin concerns.
Vitamin C also plays a key role in collagen synthesis, which is essential for maintaining healthy, youthful-looking skin. Collagen is a protein that gives skin its strength and elasticity, and as we age, our bodies produce less of it. By applying vitamin C topically, you can help boost collagen production and keep your skin looking firm and supple.
Another benefit of vitamin C is its ability to brighten the skin and even out skin tone. This is because vitamin C inhibits the production of melanin, which is responsible for dark spots and hyperpigmentation. Regular use of a vitamin C serum can help fade these areas of discoloration and leave your skin looking radiant and even.
But is it really good for your skin, or is it just a myth? The answer is a resounding yes! Numerous studies have shown the benefits of vitamin C for skin health. In fact, a study published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology found that a topical vitamin C serum was able to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and overall skin texture in just 12 weeks.
So why are skin doctors recommending face creams with vitamin C as a daily regimen? Simply put, it's because it works. Vitamin C has been shown to have numerous benefits for skin health, from protecting against environmental stressors to promoting collagen synthesis and brightening
the complexion. And with so many different vitamin C products on the market, there's something for every skin type and concern.
When it comes to incorporating vitamin C into your own skin care routine, there are a few things to keep in mind. Firstly, make sure you're using a high-quality product that contains a stable form of vitamin C, as some forms can break down and lose their effectiveness over time. Secondly, be patient. While some people may see results immediately, it can take several weeks of regular use to see the full benefits of a vitamin C serum.
Whether you're dealing with fine lines and wrinkles, dark spots and hyperpigmentation, or just want to keep your skin looking healthy and radiant, incorporating a vitamin C serum into your daily routine is definitely worth considering. So go ahead, give your skin the gift of vitamin C and watch it glow.
THE IMPORTANCE OF Balance
Do you know what causes disease? Just the word itself means "dis-ease." Disease is created by our own bodies when the delicate BALANCE within our internal environment is disturbed. When the internal environment inside our bodies are out of balance our health begins to deteriorate and imbalances appear or disease conditions appear. We have grown accustomed to calling these imbalances by a name, or given a diagnosis to name and identify it. But really, disease is literally a "dis-ease" or an imbalance. Too much of something, and not enough of something else that causes cells and organs to not work properly.
When our bodies' internal environment is optimal, we are actually able to heal oursleves efficiently and THRIVE. The power that made the body heals the body. When you scrape your knee eventually it heals, right? You may ask yourself then why do we sometimes experience slow healing time and/or inability to heal? The answer is simple.
What causes our bodies to be out of balance and lead to a state of dis-ease?
• Stress, both physical and mental
• Poor nutrition (excess sugar, processed food and insufficient fruit, veggies, clean water)
• Toxin overload (from food, water, air, chemicals, etc)
• Inflammation in our cells (from toxins and stress)
• Breaks in our DNA from free radicals (caused by toxins and stress too)
• Poor blood profile (causes decreased blood flow and oxygenation)
• Electromagnetic frequencies (from all the cell phone use)
When our bodies have an accumulation of so many toxins over the years that come from the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe, the chemicals added to our food and environment, pharmaceuticals, cheour cells and organs get overwhelmed and stop functioning normally. This in turn causes inflammation which further deteriorates our bodies ability to heal. In fact, toxin overload and inflammation are at the root of 90% of the diseases plaguing humanity today.
Again, when that delicate BALANCE is disturbed, we don't heal ourselves as well and our quality of life and our lifespan is decreased.
There is a new technology being used in town that solves many of these problems. A new healing center has opened up in Miami that uses Scalar energy as a tool to harmonize the body so that it can heal itself more efficiently. Scalar energy has the ability to energize every single cell so they function at increasingly high levels. When our cellular charge is restored to an optimal level the first thing the cell does is clean the house- get rid of toxins and therefore inflammation in the body is reduced. The blood profile is rejuvenated and blood flow increased and oxygen circulated much more. This allows the body to return to a state of optimal functioning so that it can heal itself. When the internal BALANCE is restored and optimized the dis-ease condition of the body can be eliminated. We all have the power to function optimally and heal. Sometimes we just need a little help tapping into it.

helps build sense of mastery for those struggling with emotional disorders
By Christopher PearsonAccording to recently released results of a 2022 survey conducted by the American Psychological Association, the level of need across the United States for mental and behavioral healthcare has spiked to a critical state.
“During the pandemic, people gave themselves permission to seek mental health services, but many became discouraged because nobody had openings,” says APA president Thema Bryant, PhD.
No one knows this better than psychiatrist Dr. Wendy OliverPyatt and psychologist Dr. Amy Boyers, founders of Galen Hope, a Coral Gables-based treatment center specializing in addressing a wide range of complex mental health conditions in adults and adolescents. Their modus operandi is an effective synthesis of multi-disciplinary treatments including psycho-social, behavioral and medical strategies.
Galen Hope is a Joint Commission-accredited mental health and eating disorders treatment center whose experienced staff of psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists and specialists provide care from a suite of offices at 806 S. Douglas Rd. (SW 37th Avenue) Dr. Oliver-Pyatt, Dr. Boyers and their team are well-known for their dignity-enhancing approach to providing medically and psychiatrically thorough care leading to healing, health and inner peace.
“Galen Hope goes beyond just clinical interventions. We specialize in serving those clients who are more complex and don’t ‘fit in a box,’” says Dr. Oliver-Pyatt.
“We strive not only to treat the symptoms of mental illness, but to help clients to discover the sources of meaning in their lives and to build strong connections with family, friends, classmates and co-workers,” she explains.
In addition to providing psychiatric care, medication management and individual and group therapy for clients with a range of mental health diagnoses, Galen Hope has a particular expertise in treating adults and adolescents with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, orthorexia and exercise addiction.
Galen Hope’s family therapy program provides an opportunity to coach family members about their loved one’s mental health challenges and how best to support them in their recovery. Another important focus is reintegrating each client back into the world beyond treatment, whether it’s returning to school or a job, or learning specific skills such as personal budgeting, developing a self-care routine or how to handle rejection in a relationship.
“We accompany clients into the community as part of their treatment plan.
Taking a walk on campus or a trip to the mall can be daunting for many people who are struggling, and we are by their side for these moments, helping them to build mastery, become more autonomous and, ultimately, gain the skills and confidence to live a meaningful life,” says Dr. Boyers.
Galen Hope offers a Partial Hospitalization Program whereby clients can spend either eight or 12 hours a day in treatment, up to seven days per week, and yet go home at night to be with their
families. The treatment center also offers an Intensive Outpatient Program consisting of several hours of treatment per day, up to five days per week. Supported housing also is available for clients from outside the Miami area and those in need of a more structured living situation.
“We believe there is always hope,” says Dr. Oliver-Pyatt.

offers a seamless digital experience for finding the right health insurance
By Christopher PearsonIrena Tigranyan is the perfect example of how immigrants can make the United States stronger by bringing new ideas, which are then hatched into successful businesses designed to help citizens of their adopted country. Born in Armenia and raised in Moscow, where she studied journalism in college, Irena had but a vague concept of her future when her family migrated to the United States in 2014. What she did have, however, was a strong work ethic and a knack for ingenuity.
Within months of moving to Miami in 2016, she landed a position as product manager at Tesla, followed by tenure at Lucid Motors, where she was on a fast track up the management ladder. As so often happens, love got in the way and led to the formation of HealthBird, an innovative digital platform that’s changing the way people purchase health insurance.
“I met my husband Ariel Dominguez and in one of our early conversations, we discussed how health insurance companies made it so difficult for customers to find plans that suit them. Why did they make the process so complicated?” she asks.
That question was all it took and Irena and Ariel set to work developing HealthBird, a digital platform that uses data analytics and artificial intelligence to streamline the process of browsing and purchasing health insurance. HealthBird was launched in 2022 and is already available in 25 states, in English and Spanish (although it will be nationwide soon, and in other languages, according to Irena).
“HealthBird is a seamless, efficient and easy-to-understand platform for individuals searching for the right health insurance coverage for their needs,” explains Irena. “It’s an excellent resource for people who don’t get their health insurance from their employer, or from family members. A good example would be freelance or gig workers.”
First of all, HealthBird charges no fees whatsoever to the customer. The process is simple. As soon as the customer enters their zip code and date of birth via any electronic device, all available health insurance options appear quickly and concisely. HealthBird contracts with all of the major health insurance carriers, and many of those also offer supplemental vision and dental insurance, which are also available to HealthBird customers.
“HealthBird provides unbiased options, which is important. We deal in factual data and have no opinion as to one insurance carrier over another. Our goal is to simplify the experience of finding and securing health insurance that fits each customer’s needs, period,” she explains.
Once a customer enrolls, HealthBird becomes a trove of information and services, providing dedicated member concierges who are available via telephone, chat and email to answer questions simple and complex. From the platform, customers can search for doctors and specialists, book medical appointments, manage their
Irena Tigranyan, Co-founder & COOprescriptions and learn about medicine interactions and side-effects.
Planned for delivery in the near future is a new HealthBird product for those who don’t qualify or can’t afford health insurance.
“We are also very proactive about providing preventative care tips and education,” explains Irena. “We are developing new features to be launched in the future through the HealthBird app. One of these will be regular health updates such as local pollen blooms that people with allergies should be aware of.”
Although less than one year old, HealthBird has already won a competition as a leading start-up at eMerge Americas, where a $420,000 was presented to the company in May of this year. HealthBird is closing its Bridge Round and later in the year plans to open a Series A round. Interested parties can invest for as little as $100 at healthbird.com/investors.

Erythritol
AND HEART RISKS
By Andrew IrwinErythritol is a popular sugar substitute that is commonly used in low-calorie or zero-calorie sweeteners. It is a type of sugar alcohol that is naturally found in some fruits and fermented foods. Erythritol is preferred by many as a sugar replacement because it contains zero calories and has a similar taste to sugar without the negative effects on blood sugar levels. However, recent studies suggest that erythritol may be linked to an increased risk of heart attack and stroke.
A study published in the Journal of the American Heart Association in 2019 found that consuming erythritol may increase the risk of heart disease in some people. The study followed more than 80,000 women over a period of 14 years and found that those who consumed the most erythritol had a significantly higher risk of developing heart disease compared to those who consumed the least.
The study also found that erythritol consumption was associated with an
increased risk of high blood pressure, which is a major risk factor for heart attack and stroke. This is because erythritol can affect the way the body processes sodium, which is a key contributor to high blood pressure.
Another study published in the journal Nutrients in 2020 also found a link between erythritol consumption and an increased risk of stroke. The study analyzed data from over 100,000 participants and found that those who consumed the most erythritol had a significantly higher risk of stroke compared to those who consumed the least.
One possible explanation for the link between erythritol and heart disease and stroke is that erythritol can disrupt the balance of gut bacteria in the body. The gut microbiome plays a crucial role in regulating various bodily functions, including blood pressure and cholesterol levels. When the balance of gut bacteria is disrupted, it can lead to an increased risk of heart disease and stroke.
Erythritol may contribute to the formation of blood clots, which can increase the risk of heart attack and stroke. Blood clots can form when the blood vessels become damaged or when there is a buildup of cholesterol and other substances in the arteries.
It is important to note that the studies on the link between erythritol and heart disease and stroke are still relatively new and more research is needed to fully understand the relationship. Additionally, the studies were observational in nature, which means they cannot establish causality.
Nevertheless, the findings suggest that consuming large amounts of erythritol may not be as safe as previously thought, especially for those who are already at an increased risk of heart disease and stroke. Individuals who have a history of heart disease, high blood pressure or stroke should consult with their healthcare provider before consuming erythritol or any other sugar substitute.
While erythritol is a popular sugar substitute that can help reduce calorie intake, it should be taken into account that it may be linked to an increased risk of heart disease and stroke. This correlation is still being studied, and more research is needed to fully understand the relationship. If you're concerned about the potential risks erythritol might pose, schedule a consultation with your health care provider to determine whether you should avoid this sweet substitute.

Create opportunities for kids to be active
Kids need parents to make activity easy by providing equipment (balls, bikes, weights). Also, parents need to make it a point to schedule time to take toddlers to playgrounds or older kids to sporting activities or gyms. The best way for kids to get physical activity is by incorporating physical activity into their daily routine.
K e ep k ids a ct i ve
ANYONE WHO’S SEEN KIDS ON A PLAYGROUND KNOWS THAT MOST TODDLERS ARE NATURALLY PHYSICALLY ACTIVE AND LOVE TO MOVE AROUND. IN FACT, IT IS EVEN MORE OF A CHALLENGE FOR THEM TO SIT STILL THAN IT IS FOR THEM TO MOVE. WHEN YOU, AS THE PARENT, ARE EXHAUSTED BY THE DAY’S END, IT MAY BE DIFFICULT TO THINK ABOUT SHIFTING GEARS TO EXERCISE. BUT, YOUR PERSISTENT EFFORTS ARE WORTH IT. IN FACT, DID YOU KNOW THAT IF YOUR CHILD IS INVOLVED IN ACTIVITY AT AN EARLY AGE IT CAN ACTUALLY HELP THEM LEAD A LIFETIME OF BEING ACTIVE?
When kids get a little older and settle down a bit more, you then have the challenge of motivating them to get enough daily activity. As kids mature, like adults, they have increased demands made on them. Some challenges may include: lots of homework, peer pressure, busy parents, or they may not feel athletically inclined. Furthermore, this day and age, parents are more reluctant to let children roam the neighborhood in search of play time. Opportunities might seem limited, but when parents set the example, children feel more encouraged to be active too. In fact, when parents seek to establish healthy patterns
in their children, these can last into adulthood; and healthy, physically active kids have been shown to be more likely to be academically motivated, alert, and successful. Choose an age appropriate activity. Chances are your pre-teen will not enjoy going to a toddler park. Activities need to be based on skill and age. If an activity is too easy or even too difficult, the child may become either bored or frustrated and resent physical activity. Some kids may be naturally drawn to non-contact sports like swimming, tennis, or running. Encourage them to follow an activity that fits their nature or personality.
As a family, take a walk or ride bikes each evening before dinner.
2. When planning “play” dates for young kids, focus on the “play” by planning an outdoor fun activity for them.
3. Encourage tweens and older kids to explore sports until they find one they truly enjoy.
4. Focus on fun: Kids will not stick with something that feels like work.
If they enjoy the activity, they will want to do more of it. If kids are involved in competitive sports, encourage them to have fun too. Certain caution is needed so that parents do not pressure kids into becoming overly competitive. The most important thing is not the number of points they score but that they are physically moving and improving their health.
General guidelines are children 6 to 17 years should perform 60 minutes or more physical activity each and every day. Is your child getting at least that? If not, it begins with you.
ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO MOVE by making movement fun and by taking the lead in doing so!
Discover Cool Summer Adventure at Family Expo Events Fun and Resources Await!
By now, parents and caregivers throughout Miami-Dade County eagerly anticipate the summer return of The Children's Trust Family Expo, the community's largest, free family resource event. But while previous years have seen families braving South Florida’s scorching summer heat, this year's Family Expo brings an exciting change – a cool and refreshing twist!
This year, all three Family Expo events – taking place in the central, southwest and northern parts of the county –will provide an indoor experience that will allow families and children to be able to interact with important resource organizations and pick up a variety of free goodies, including back-to-school supplies away from the summer heat. The exhibitors will have their displays and booths in air-conditioned gymnasiums giving families a cool, as well as fun, day out on three consecutive Saturdays starting on July 22.
And although the indoor venues will bring a new level of comfort to the Family Expos, much of the fun and entertainment that has always been associated with the events will continue to take place outdoors in the energizing sunshine.
What won’t change is the opportunity for parents and children to enjoy a delightful Saturday, filled with fun and an abundance of valuable information on programs and resources. Plus, attendees will have the chance to snag some freebies like backpacks, school supplies, and more ahead of a return to school in August.
As always, the Family Expo promises an array of activities that are popular among children and families, including face painting, balloon artists, arts and crafts, a photo booth, and a host of exhilarating outdoor games and activities. This year also marks the return of the UHealth Jackson Urgent Care Teddy Bear Clinic, where children can have their beloved bears "treated" by professionals. There will also be music and dancing, as well as character shows, to add to the non-stop excitement. And of course, let's not forget the mouthwatering delights from the food trucks on site!
Year after year, the Family Expo attracts thousands of visitors with its mix of entertainment, important resources and an atmosphere of excitement. The Children’s Trust continues to find ways to make its Family Expo events more convenient for families to attend, gather essential information and secure valuable resources ahead of the upcoming school year. As an added bonus to families trying to get to this year’s Family Expo events, The Children’s Trust has partnered with Uber who will provide families an Uber Voucher good for up to $15 each way* on the hours and days of the

Career Paths
GIVE YOUR CHILDREN A HEAD START
By Corey GrahamAs a parent, you want your child to have a bright and successful future. One of the best ways to set them up for success is to expose them to a variety of different careers and industries early on. This can help them find their passion, explore their interests and make informed decisions about their future.
By introducing your child to different careers and industries, you can help them make informed decisions about their future and set them up for success. Encourage them to explore their interests and passions, and provide them with the resources and opportunities they need to find their career path. With your support and guidance, your child can achieve their goals and build a fulfilling career.
Studies have shown that students who have a clear career path tend to have higher graduation rates than those who do not. According to a report by the National Center for Education Statistics, students who had declared a major when they first enrolled in college had a higher graduation rate (60 percent) compared to those who did not (31percent). Furthermore, students who have a clear career path are more likely to have a sense of purpose and direction, which can motivate them to stay focused and committed to their studies. They are also more likely to take courses that are relevant to their career goals, which can increase their motivation and engagement in the classroom.
On the other hand, students who do not have a clear career path may struggle to stay motivated and engaged in their studies, as they may not see the relevance or value in the courses they are taking. This can lead to a higher risk of dropping out or taking longer to graduate.
In addition, having a clear career path can also benefit students in terms of job prospects and earning potential. According to a study by Georgetown University, students who choose majors in high-demand fields such as STEM, business and healthcare tend to have higher earning potential and lower unemployment rates compared to those who choose majors in low-demand fields.
Overall, the statistics suggest that having a clear career path can have a significant impact on a student's academic success, job prospects and earning potential. It is important for students to take the time to explore their interests and career options, and to make informed decisions about their education and future goals. With the right guidance and support, students can find a career path that is fulfilling and rewarding and that sets them up for success in the years to come.
