The Houston Methodist Research Institute Biomedical Informatics Service Core focuses on development and integration of many different informatics capabilities. With a variety of software and hardware tools, and expertise in bioinformatics, bioimaging, database development, image analysis, and clinical informatics, the core facilitates clinical and translational research at Houston Methodist.

Some of the key services provided by the Biomedical Informatics Service Core include: • Bioinformatics: Microarray, RNASeq, Fluidgm, Next-generation sequencing, and other platforms • Gene/target/disease analysis: Comprehensive gene report, report of drug targets for a disease, pathway or functional analysis, and other customized reports • Statistical analysis: Sample size and power estimation, and other statistical analysis • Quantitative imaging: In vitro and in vivo cellular imaging quantification and clinical image quantification • Database design and implementation
