Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship The Fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at Houston Methodist is the first ACGME-accredited program of its kind in the Houston area. This subspecialty training program is for Ob/Gyn physicians who wish to specialize in urogynecology and female pelvic reconstructive surgery. Our three-year program offers excellent training in both surgical and non-surgical management of pelvic floor disorders and injuries related to childbirth. These disorders include urinary incontinence, voiding dysfunction, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, and fecal incontinence. Surgical training includes vaginal, laparoscopic, and robotic reconstructive repairs. At Houston Methodist Hospital, we have the infrastructure and multidisciplinary collaboration to provide excellent urogynecologic training, including a robust pelvic floor physical therapy program, and the state-of-the-art Houston Methodist Research Institute. We collaborate and work closely with urologic, colorectal, and plastic surgeons, and our fellows spend a large portion of their time with female urologists and neurourologists. Fellows are also provided an intensive, comprehensive clinical research experience.
