Our five‑year residency program trains the next generation of urologists to provide the highest standard of care while integrating top‑level research and innovative technology into every layer of education. Our residents receive outstanding medical training at Houston Methodist with the latest innovations in medical, surgical and diagnostic techniques. Many nationally recognized full‑time teaching faculty team up to provide residents the best clinical experience possible with abundant resources for education and an emphasis on their personal development as urologic surgeons. These faculty have been closely involved with teaching and research for decades.

The Houston Methodist Institute for Technology, Innovation & Education (MITIESM) is an innovative, 35,000 square foot virtual hospital and hands-on clinical training facility for health care professionals seeking to maintain excellent procedural skills and acquire new proficiencies. We aim to improve patient safety through these educational pursuits and to conduct research on skills acquisition and technological development.
