History & Readership

N

igeria Packaging Journal (NPJ), is Nigeria's premier publication on the fast-growing packaging industry; a publication of the Institute of Packaging Nigeria (IOPN). IOPN is a full member World Packaging Organisation and founding member of African Packaging Organisation. NPJ successfully debuted at the 1st Agrofood & Plastprintpack Nigeria on 28th April 2015, in Lagos, Nigeria.

Ÿ

Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna, Enugu, Otta, Agbara, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Jos, Kano, Benin - across the sixgeopolitical zones of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Ÿ

FCMG and Packaging companies, targeting MD/CEO, corporate communication Directors and Managers, Brand Managers, Packaging Managers,

The launch of the journal is in line with the objective to accentuate her commitment to sharing cutting-edge packaging technologies with over 180 million Nigerians. One of our missions at NPJ is to publish stories that we can proudly share among Packaging practitioners, consumers, and other readers in the packaging sector and possibly open up new vistas in Nigeria industrial revolution. Food security is critical to our national economy. There are compelling differences in packaging among products made in Nigeria and those made in other countries which account for more than 50% of consumers' choice not to buy Nigerian goods. As a result, many Nigerian foods with good quality and controlled standards fall short of making it to the international market or getting displayed on domestic malls and stores. The troubling cause is that the prerequisite skills for post-harvest packaging in Nigeria are greatly limited resulting in postharvest food wastage.

Ÿ

It circulates within African Packaging Organization (APO) members viz: Institute of Packaging Nigeria; Institute of Packaging South Africa; Institute of Packaging Ghana; Institute of Packaging Professional Kenya; Packaging Technical Centre (PACKTEC) Tunisia; Tanzania Packaging Association.

In this respect, each edition of NPJ must not just be another publication on the receptionist's table but a reference document to provide information and educated brand owners, packaging manufacturers, suppliers, observers, industry watchers, and other interested readers on packaging processes within the value chain. We also know what you and the next generation of readers expect from this magazine, reecting the changing culture both in design, language and aesthetics. It is envisaged that every copy of NPJ would be treasured piece of value for every reader. We would appreciate it if you could send feedbacks to our contacts. What do you like most and least in each edition? What would you change if you are the editor? We want to know what you think. Please do not hold back.
