Dakota woke up in a good mood the morning after moving away from her abusive and violent father. She went to the kitchen and

had breakfast with her mother, Chelsea. It was the first time in a while that both were happy.

Dakota was unpacking when she found

her medicine. It was given to her due to some nightmares, where Dakota could see herself as

another person, a more aggressive one, called

Madison. After ten years of taking the pills she had never dreamt about Maddison again. But the previous night, she forgot to take them, and

she did not have any bad dreams, so Dakota

decided to stop the treatment. Extremely proud of herself, she threw the medicine away and she continued with her day. For the following two weeks everything

was okay, until Monday. Dakota was lying on the bed scared because she had a nightmare where

she was holding a knife with her left hand. When she calmed herself, she took her phone and checked the time. It was nine o’clock. her mother was going to work in half an hour, so she decided to make a special breakfast for her. Dakota

walked into the kitchen where she found the

dead body of her mother on the floor. She was shocked. The young girl fell on the floor next to her mother. She was weeping. Dakota tried to

hug her mother when she saw a message written in blood right next to the corpse. It said, “you are

not as good as you think”. At that moment she knew that someone was trying to incriminate her, so calling the police was not an option. Dakota carried her mother's body into the backyard and started digging a grave with a shovel. By the time she finished with the burial and the cleaning, it was late, and she was quite tired, so Dakota went to bed wishing that when she woke up everything would be normal again. The days passed and she

kept finding red ink notes in different places of

the house, some said things like "Are you afraid of the dark or what is hidden in it?", but others began to get very personal saying things that only she and her late mother knew "I know your secret, but I swear not to tell anyone if you don't tell mine" "you have experience burying corpses,

don't you Dakota? What a shame that your mom and dad couldn't share a grave." She was not sure who wrote them, but she knew she was being blackmailed by her mother's murderer.

Dakota woke up with a red ink mark in her left hand and right next to her was a red pen

and a note; “That nightmare you had where you were holding a knife, I have to tell you, it wasn't you. It was me. Yes, I killed your mom, or should I say our mom? It's very confusing that we look the same, right? - xoxo Maddi". While drinking a cup of tea, Dakota realized that It was the right moment to call her psychiatrist, when she found another note in the kitchen “aw sweetie… do you keep thinking that I am just as nightmare? You have never been the smart one. I am as real as you, but that medicine kept us apart. I hope you enjoyed your sleeping draught tea because I’m ready to have fun” and just after reading the note Dakota fell asleep and Maddison woke up. That

day Maddison had her last victim; herself, but unfortunately Dakota died as well.

KATHERINE HADLEY’S STORY

> NAZARENA ROLANDO

At last the weekend had arrived and

Katherine was both nervous and excited, after all, she was going to see her family again. Last year Katherine went to Japan because of a

scholarship, and since she finished her studies, she has been traveling without stopping. So she hadn’t seen her family for a year. Actually, Katherine didn’t have a very good relationship with her parents, but she loved her older brother

and knew that if she wanted to spend time with him she would have to spend time with her family as well. Katherine’s brother, Tim Hadley, was five

years older than her, Katherine loves that fact because she believes that Tim would always protect her, She was excited to see him, but Tim was taking a long time to arrive, she waited hours for him to arrive, by then Tim was two hours late, so Katherine began to cry and repeatedly say "he doesn't love me anymore" “he doesn't love me". At that moment, she sees a

huge white van coming towards her in the

distance. She stopped crying and started to smile. Kate got into the car and said "you are more handsome than I remember", a slight laugh was heard and a man's voice replied "how have you been Katy, I see that you haven’t changed". But Katherine didn't answer and they both spent the rest of the trip in silence. The trip was becoming very long, Katherine was exhausted. The night before she didn’t sleep to prepare her bags, so she fell asleep. Hours later, Kate woke

up with a strong blow to her head, she was bleeding, she felt that someone grabbed her by her arm violently, it was Tim, he had also fallen

asleep and crashed the car. When Katherine realized the situation she immediately called the police, but they couldn't stay there waiting. It was a very dangerous place so they thought about going to a hotel until the police arrived, but Tim had lost his credit card in the crash and Katherine didn't have enough money to pay for a hotel, so they started walking down the road to see if the police would come. Walking, Tim found on the side of the

road a small house that seemed to be abando-

ned, so they decided to sleep there that night until the police arrived to look for them. The house was huge, it almost looked like a mansion, the walls were gray and sticky with humidity, and a horrible aroma emanated from them

and every time you went into the house the smell was even more hideous. There were silver

chandeliers and colored glass cabinets pastry.

"It's repulsive" said Tim disgusted by the smell, but instead Katherine loved the house, she had always liked the chandeliers and the gray walls, "I love it, it's as if I had designed the house" Katherine replied excitedly, "we're going to stay here for tonight, but we're leaving tomorrow morning, I don't like that smell" Tom answer. At midnight Tim began to hear very stran-

ge noises in the house, but there was no one for

miles around, only him and Katherine. "It must be just some animal" he thought, but minutes later the noise got louder so he decided to go out and see. At the entrance of the house he saw

Katherine was sitting with her dress full of

blood. “KATHERINE WHAT HAPPENED” Tim shouted terrified, “I accidentally killed a bat, I

was in the fireplace and wouldn’t let me sleep because of the noise, I didn’t know what else to

do“, Katherine said and continued talking, “You know Tim? I always had the fantasy of being in a house just you and me, without mom and dad "Katherine, stop talking, “you don't know what you're saying you're not sleeping" said Tim looking for what her sister would calm down and go back to sleep, but Katherine continued talking, "Before, I didn't understand why I admired you so much, you always seemed better than the rest, better than anyone I have ever met. You always seemed attractive to me, I think even I

could be in love with you, but you will not reci-

procate because we are siblings. You see me only as a baby to raise. I don’t want to grow up and see that you have girlfriends, and that none of them will be me, I wouldn’t bear it. You will hurt me a lot and you always taught me that if a person hurts me I have to take revenge, do you understand Tim?” Tim was silent, he grabbed Katherine by her arm, smiled and said "Are you going to kill me Katy?", Katherine burst into tears, "The thing is" Tim continued, "I'm not so sick as to fall in love with my little sister, but I'm not so pious as to forgive your threat", Tim took

a knife from his pocket and stabbed it in Kathe-

rine's waist, "I'm so sorry Katy, I love you, and you have probably been the only person I really loved, but I'm never going to like you that way",

Tim started to stab Katherine in different parts of her body until she fell to the ground, thinking that he had killed her, Tim locked himself in a room with Katherine so that if the police arrived, they wouldn’t find him.

The following day the police found the car crashed, but not Katherine and Tim so they searched the area and hours later they found the small abandoned house. The police

RUSSIAN REVOLUTION

> MICAELA PELAEZ

Tsar Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra

had five children, four girls and a boy. They lived difficult moments due to Alekséi Nikolá-

yevich Romanov’s illness. Tsar Nicholas ruled

Russia for more than twenty-three years next to his wife Empress Alexandra of Germany

until Vladimir Lenin prepared the Russian

Revolution with his supporters. It was 1917, it was cold and people were starving when the Russian Revolution broke out. The first cause of this was the first World

War where Russia was at war with Germany.

Secondly, Russia was suffering an economic

crisis and also the great and expensive expenses that the monarchy had that people had to pay with their taxes.

During the Revolution, the royal family had to go into exile to Siberia. The following year they moved to Ekaterimburgo, where they were assassinated by the Bolsheviks on July 17, 1918. After this revolution and some hard years, Russia grew as a consequence of their investments and struggle to progress. As a result, Russia became a global power and

CHERNOBYL DISASTER

> XAVIER SOLIS DOMINGUEZ

My story begins on April 26th, 1986. I was in my house, watching TV, when I fell asleep. I suddenly woke up hearing a lot of screams. My first reaction was to look out through the window. There, I saw a lot of people who were running, I was scared. Unexpectedly, the army entered my house. They told me that I

had to leave, because the city wasn't a safe

place. When I asked why, they just looked at me and repeated that I had to leave. I packed a few things and I left. I resolved to use my car and go to the nearest city. While I was driving, I saw a couple. I decided to ask them if they wanted to come with me, as they accepted and we kept on going. During our conversation, they told me

what was happening.

Two weeks ago, an accident happened

in a nuclear reactor that had made it blow up. But the government kept it in secret saying

that it was controlled. Obviously, it was a lie. After people discovered this, the army started

to evacuate all the city.

Finally, when we arrived at the nearest city, we found the army which told us that we

had to leave the country because the situation

was worse than what they had imagined. Luckily, at the moment we had arrived in the city, the army was evacuating the city using airplanes. We managed to get to one airplane and we went out of the country. I never saw that couple again. Anyway, I went to live to another

country and spent the rest of my life there.

THE NIGHTINGALE’S GRACE

> MARIA MORENA URIONA

It was winter the last time I went out

into the backyard. I remembered I was with

my mom and sister, looking at the night sky, admiring the stars and the shimmering moon.

I wish I had enjoyed it more, if I had just known that it was going to be my last moment of freedom, I would have taken one last breath of fresh air, and hugged my family very tightly and never let them go. Winter was about to finish but, the icy breeze made us tremble the same. Before we

went to the great lighthouse of knowledge, mom gave us two big jackets so as not to be cold. We placed it on our albino and neat uni-

form and set out on our journey to the lighthouse. It didn’t take long, we were close so the trip didn’t last long, my sister said that we were lucky and that we should not use that steel worm that asked for coins.

When we arrived, my sister went with

her group of friends, they were older than me, and most of the time, they wouldn’t let me be with them. I didn’t like being alone, I didn’t have many friends, so I was looking for their company. The metal nightingale sang, warning us that we should enter. The hours passed by, and when we had

to go home, my sister told me that we should

make a stop, and accompany her friends. They arrived a bit later, they had signs, they gave

me one and we walked with the rest of the people. We were a bone-coloured tide demanding rights.

That same day, everything turned into darkness; the sky was no longer starry and the moon was no longer shining. The air was thick and distilled the smell of corruption. Four wild

swines came into my house, they took my sister while Mom was screaming and crying

and I hid in the closet. They put Sister in the Green Iron, and disappeared between darkness and dawn. Days later, they came for me, the same way. One night, after the torture, I was lying in

that concrete chest, and I could feel that the

spring had come, with its smell of moisture and unswarm air. I knew that it was September 21.

I could never see Maria Claudia again, my

sister; Neither Mom nor the lighthouse because unfortunately, I gave my last sigh in that cement cage, tortured by swines, and ruled by the Hyena, who had broken our pencils. There was no night

in which I did not wish to hear the singing of that metal nightingale again.

THE CHOSEN ONE

> MATIAS PAOLI

There were some prophecies about a

man who was going to change the history of the world. This man would be born from a virgin and he'd have the power of God.

The king Herodes heard the prophecy and he thought that this man was going to be a king, so he sent his soldiers to kill all the babies. The

family of the chosen one was Joseph and Maria,

a carpenter and a woman selected to be his wife. They heard that Herodes was looking for the babies so they ran away. A few days later, the

baby was born and he was called Jesus. When Jesus was only five years old, he

made some figures of birds with mud, he sent them to fly and the figures came to life. Eventually, Jesus grew up, when he was twelve he was sent to study with masters but all the masters told Joseph: "I can't teach this kid, he knows more than I. Where does he come from? His knowledge is from the Gods!"

The time passed and Jesus became a

man. John, who was known for being a holy man, told all the people that Jesus was even more important than him and he baptized Jesus in the Jordan River. While this was happening, all the people around them saw a white pigeon posing over Jesus' head. At the age of thirty years, Jesus started to preach about the kingdom of heaven.
