Client: Dyson Ltd Project: : Dyson 6 Conversion and Fit�out Dyson Ltd is a British technology company that designs and manufactures vacuum cleaners, hand dryers, bladeless fans, and heaters. It sells machines in over 70 countries and employs more than 4,000 people worldwide. The facilities at the Dyson site in Malmesbury, Wiltshire are designed to support the research and development of consumer electronic goods. Business growth has driven the requirement for expansion of the research and development (R&D) operations into building D6 at the site. D6 had been used as warehousing space for some time and as a result had limited services and no heating. Client brief: The re�modelling of Dyson 6 to convert the existing warehouse into laboratories and workshop space for use by the Dyson Research and Development Department. Each building supports a combination of office development laboratories, test chambers and workshops.

Works: Integral Build carried out the D6 conversion works with the surrounding and connecting buildings in full occupation. No disruption to business activity was allowed and staff access and safety was of paramount importance. The works commenced with the installation of a large steel framed mezzanine floor which was then fitted out, top and bottom with workspace/assembly areas, offices, laboratories, test rooms and research centre. The works involved the complete installation of all mechanical and electrical services to serve the newly created rooms and areas. Key services installed included lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, compressed air, power supplies, dust, fumes and heat extraction, water supplies, drainage and fire suppression and lift installation.
