Client: Care UK Project: NHS Walk窶進n centre, Brighton Care UK are a leading independent provider of health and social care services. Working in close partnership with Local Authorities and Primary Care Trusts, they provide care and support for older people, GP surgeries and treatment centres and also provide a range of specialist care and children's services. In Brighton Care UK won a 5 year contract to provide GP services to a the busy Queens Road area. The project consisted of the fitting out of an existing open plan office over two floors of a 5 storey building. With no on site parking, minimal storage facilities and a busy town centre location, logistics and planning were a key factor to the success of the project. One floor consisted of a waiting and reception area, complete with triage and a self help point, plus a suite of consulting and treatment rooms. On the lower floor an office area, meeting room, rest area and records area were constructed. Due to the change of use, the project involved considerable M&E alterations including cooling to the treatment rooms and additional drainage. With time being of the essence the project was completed in 9 weeks, this enabled a 10 day lead in time for the new staff to be inducted and trained in the new facility.
