Data Centre Build, reinforces National Security DC2 has been designed to be a, sustainable data centre building, using the latest efficient hot and cold aisles with in rack cooling, and heat recovery technology. Installation The data centre was installed through the provision of 2 x 11KV supplies through 2 independent supporting transformers and a distribution strategy, supporting, a disaster recovery switch, generator connection switch, and outgoing and incoming UPS switches. Integral Uptimeplus completes their twentieth new build data centre for the MOD, delivered through both design and build. Completion of Data hall 2 is the latest in a line of completions in new data centre build provision. As centers of national security these state of the art designs have been supplied to exacting standards in terms of security, resilience and carbon footprint, achieving a PEU of 1.2. DC1, a 128 rack new build supplied by ourselves a year previous demonstrated an exceptional efficient design and operation , this latest contract for DC2 sort to double the size of the complex by a further 132 racks. This ÂŁ8million contract was delivered both on time and to budget.

A separate UPS installation was also installed consisting of 5 x (N+1) 400 KVA rated UPS’s. Supported by two synchronized generators rated at 1.5MVA. All PDU’s were installed with a static switch, power line filter and distribution to the racks. The 132 data racks were provided with inline cooling supplied with duel supplies and protected through gas suppression and the state of the art fire detection systems. The cooling to the data racks was completed via in rack chilled water units, provided via air cooled chiller units (N+1) or free air coolers.
