Course Description Welcome to the Advanced Business Course! As the health coaching industry continues to grow at a staggering rate, we seek to provide our community with a path toward greater entrepreneurial success and distinction as an established wellness authority. Research has continued to demonstrate the exacerbating need for Health Coaches worldwide. In the United States alone, annual health expenditures total $2.7 trillion, of which 86% is for people with chronic and mental health conditions. Moreover, data shows that 60% of Americans are interested in working with a Health Coach, but 80% have not been offered health coaching as a service. That’s why we’ve put together a robust program catered specifically for you – our IIN students and graduates – to help with everything from honing your target market and building your online presence to crafting a powerful elevator speech, forming strategic partnerships, and leveraging sales funnels and lead generation so you can attain your financial goals and invite next-level success! Through a mix of video lectures, handouts, worksheets, assignments, and optional self-assessment quizzes as well as a private Facebook group, the Business Toolkit, and group calls, you’ll get the accountability, personalized mentoring, and instruction needed to reach your professional goals, whether you’re a budding entrepreneur or seasoned business owner.

Live Calls & Support In addition to video lectures delivered by successful in-house Health Coaches, you’ll learn from world-class business experts like Jonathan Fields, Christine Hassler, Michael Port, Chris Guillebeau, and Rob Scott. To help you apply what you learn, you’ll gain access to a private Facebook group, which you can visit 24/7 to connect with your course moderators and classmates. Module 1: What’s Your Why? As simple as it may sound, getting clear on your why will set the stage for all actions you take in building and growing your business. So make it a point to revisit what got you into health coaching and what lights a fire in you and inspires you to take action despite fear. This module will help you clarify your primary motivators for starting a business, which will help root you in intention when the going gets tough and guide you in the different business decisions you make.

Module 3: Entrepreneurial Mind-Set Ever wonder what makes an entrepreneur tick? What do they think about? What motivates them? How do they go about their day? This module will help you uncover the entrepreneurial mind-set and take steps to develop this for yourself! Module 4: Procrastination and Perfection Do you tend to put off work until the last minute? Do you get stuck on projects because you’re continuously perfecting things? While being thorough and meticulous are essential skills, they shouldn’t be a hindrance when it comes to running your business. The beauty of running a business, launching a product, offering a service, or pursuing any endeavor is that you can refine along the way. Improving your product or service is a continuous process that happens alongside running a business. Module 5: Shift Your Identity While taking consistent action is a surefire way to see progress and positive momentum in a business, taking deliberate action in a way that aligns with your goals and vision of success is what makes each step count. In this module, you’ll hear from expert success coach Rob Scott on the importance of identity shifting, or adjusting your thoughts, mind-set, and environment in a way that supports your business vision and the overall life you’re trying to create. Module 6: Legal Issues Elaborating on the steps you learned in the Health Coach Training Program to set up your business, this module will provide the foundations of what you need to protect yourself and your business from a legal standpoint. You’ll learn about everything from business insurance options for Health Coaches and crafting a comprehensive program agreement to incorporating legal disclaimers, a recap of your scope of practice, and templates you can use in your own business for legal coverage.

Module 7: Bio-Individuality in Business One of the most common questions we get about the Health Coach Training Program is, with so many Health Coaches out there, how will I distinguish myself and find my own clientele? That’s where bio-individuality comes in! Not every Health Coach will focus on the same niche within health and well-being or empower people in a particular program format. There are many factors that make you unique and, similarly, many distinct value-adds to incorporate into your business! This module will help you assess your strengths and weaknesses to create a business model and plan that work for you as an individual and stand out in a field that is growing and evolving each day.

Module 8: Build Your Side Hustle One of the biggest misconceptions of side hustles is that they lack the potential to be a full-time gig. However, the reality is that in today’s ever-changing world, it’s not only normal but a smart way to diversify your source of income and invite more success! Plus, side hustles enable you to cultivate a diverse skill set and focus on multiple passions; with instruction, time, and consistent action, they can serve as a gateway toward full-time businesses. Module 10: Networking While networking tends to get a bad rap, often touted as unauthentic and tedious, reframing it as a process that lets you build mutually beneficial relationships will enable you to embrace it as a helpful tool! This module will empower you with tips to become a master networker and build confidence around speaking about the work that you do, even if you’re not an extrovert! Just as you build meaningful rapport with clients, networking will be an effective way to attract new clients, find opportunities to grow your business, and seek out those who can support you and you can help in return.

Module 11: Follow-Up Like networking, following up is also an art! On one hand, it’s important to make sure your prospective clients have your health coaching business on their radar; on the other, it’s essential to ensure the process feels natural and unobtrusive. Module 12: Effortless Enrollments How do you sign on clients in a way that feels effortless? Since this is a topic that always offers value, whether you are a rookie coach or have been in the coaching business for a while, this module will cover different strategies to close the deal. Module 13: Close the Deal To a certain extent, most people have limiting beliefs when it comes to money, sales, and selling. To help you feel comfortable promoting your business, life coach and business expert Christine Hassler will arm you with tools to help you remove those beliefs and replace them with solid strategies to increase your sales in natural, positive ways. She’ll also show you how you can transform potential clients’ objections into opportunities to coach. Module 22: Social Media While we’ve all likely experienced the pitfalls of social media as it relates to time management and productivity, social media is an incredibly helpful way to signal to your prospective clients about the amazing work you do! Like marketing in general, social media can seem daunting with the number of platforms that exist to showcase your brand; the catch is you can focus your efforts on a few channels that work best for you and your audience, without it interfering with your productivity. Module 23: Money Mind-Set Although considered taboo, money is one of many important factors of owning a business. Module 25: Raise Your Rates As your business grows, knowing when to raise your rates to support yourself and stay competitive in an ever-evolving market is also a key skill to develop. Module 26: Authenticity in Business One of the most common mind-sets that prevent individuals from pursuing entrepreneurship in the first place is fear that they’ll be “ just someone else already doing the same thing.” Going back to the notion of bio-individuality, you are unique as a person, in how you coach, in how you carry yourself, and so much more! This module, led by Jonathan Fields, will help you tune in to your authentic self in order to establish your presence. Module 27: Target Market At this point, you probably have a clear grasp on who your business is geared toward. Even still, getting to know your target market is a continuous process. In doing so, when you attend networking events or places where your audience is likely to frequent, you can communicate what you and your business are all about with even more ease! Module 28: Personality Profiling Individual personalities play a major role in how we process and respond to information – including when we’re being sold something! When it comes to strategizing how to bring clients on board or how to serve your existing clients with more tact, understanding major personality types can be of great help. In this module, DiSC expert Eric Barron teaches the basics of DiSC personality profiling to help you strategize how you conduct your sales as well as how you coach your clients through their own transformation. As a result, not only will you be equipped to close more deals and illustrate your value in different ways to prospective clients, but you’ll also find greater success in your coaching method and client satisfaction!

Module 29: Marketing 101 Running and growing a business requires constant and consistent action – which also includes marketing. Module 30: Book Yourself Solid Why do people buy things? The answer may seem obvious, but the decision to make a purchase comes when a distinct emotion is evoked. Understanding what motivates your target market to buy your product or service can help you increase your sales. Bestselling author and business expert Michael Port will walk you through six strategies to promote yourself and show you how to have a simple sales conversation to effectively market your business. Module 32: Referral Marketing Another common question we get is, How will I find clients? By now, you’ll have an answer to that, having tested various sales and marketing tactics. Thinking beyond what you’ve learned and seeing where you can establish a steady influx of clients will lead you to referral marketing, or having other individuals recommend your service! Not only does this take away the need to spend countless hours on marketing, but it also lets you build relationships and expand your network. This module will help you leverage an age-old, uncomplicated marketing tactic that still works wonders: wordof-mouth marketing. Module 37: Outsource Your Business This module will teach you how to outsource parts of your business – like marketing, maintenance, and operations, among other tasks. You’ll learn how to take a closer look at the different tasks that go into running your business and determine which ones you’d be able to delegate within budget to allow you the freedom of doing what you love rather than carving out more time for maintaining your operation.

Module 38: Next Steps Congratulations! You’ve built the business of your dreams or enhanced an existing product or service and taken it to a whole new level. How do you continue your growth after the program? This module will help you determine your next steps and a set of goals to build on your momentum. Don’t forget that you have access to your private Facebook group for six months after graduation, so make the most of this resource by asking questions to your course moderators and classmates and receiving support and direction as you continue on your business journey!

Curriculum Structure The Advanced Business Course consists of three pre-course modules and 38 modules of course content. New modules are released every Monday at 12:01am Eastern Time, with the exception of holidays and assessment weeks. The Course Schedule, which can be found on the Documents page of the Learning Center, contains specific dates. Rather than overloading you with information, each module is carefully designed to clearly and simply guide you through concepts that promote business growth and success and inspire you to take consistent action. Within each module, you’ll find: • Learning objectives • Straight-to-the-point, action-oriented video lectures • Customizable templates, tips, and resources • An optional assignment and worksheets to directly apply what you’re learning to building your business In addition to your modules, you’ll have access to a comprehensive Business Toolkit containing invaluable resources to support your business growth and done-for-you content that can be shared directly with clients, including: • A LiveEdit tutorial series for customizing your website • A customizable 7-day done-for-you wellness jump-start program • A press kit outline • A done-for-you opt-in offer to help you build your email list • Five done-for-you blog posts that can be shared directly on your website • Three done-for-you PowerPoints, matching flyers, and scripts to help you host teleclasses, online workshops, and more! • Five done-for-you wellness handouts There is a self-assessment quiz every five modules, and while these quizzes do not count for a grade, they’re a great way to ensure you’re internalizing business tactics and tools that will help you invite more success!

While completing the lectures and skill-building activities and participating in the Facebook group are designed to take only a couple of hours each week, this course is all about building and growing the business of your dreams. Since each business will be unique for each student, it will be up to you as to how many hours you put into the action steps needed to establish and expand your business to the desired level! You will have access to all module materials in the Learning Center for two years following graduation. The Facebook group will be available for six months beyond graduation.
Graduation Requirements Completion of the Advanced Business Course requires you to pass a total of three tests with a 70% or higher on each. Test dates are listed in your Course Schedule, which can be found on the Documents page of the Learning Center. New modules are not released the week of the test to allow time to prepare. Tests must be completed during the allotted time frames. Two attempts are allowed per test, and you have up to two hours to complete each attempt.
