ART CONCEPT Established in Nice in 1992 yet moved to Paris 5 years later, the Art Concept gallery represents the work of 24 international and French artists and its program includes solo exhibitions as well as group shows in collaboration with invited artists and curators.
CARLIER GEBAUER Founded in 1991 by Ulrich Gebauer the Carlier Gebauer gallery reveals an affinity towards aesthetic and conceptual research in the fields of installation and of the image through the medium of film, photography, painting and drawing.
FOKSAL GALLERY Foksal Gallery Foundation was established in 1997 and aims at promoting contemporary Polish Art both locally and internationally and has been taking part in various art fairs since its appearance at Liste in 2000.

MASSIMO DE CARLO Massimo De Carlo gallery was founded in Milan in 1987. Its artists have all gained international recognition and have been shown in galleries, museums, and biennials in most of Europe and the USA. The gallery has played an important role in establishing a vital dialogue between its artists and national and international institutions.

ANTIKENMUSEUM Basel’s Museum of Antiquities is dedicated to people who love history and culture. It features Egyptian, Greek, Italian, Etruscan and Roman works of art, covering antiquity from about 4000 BC to the 6th century AD. The most impressive exhibitions are the sculptures and Greek vases.
BASEL MINSTER Basel Minster is placed in the highest point on Minster Hill and can be easily spotted by its prominent spires and brightly patterned roof tiles. The MĂźnsterplatz is an elegant 18thcentury square that was built of red sandstone from the french Vosges mountains, a stunning area that surrounds the Gothic church.
HAUS ZUM KIRSCHGARTEN The Haus zum Kirschgarten was built between 1775 and 1780 in the early Classical style architecture and is today one of Switzerland’s best museums of domestic life. Throughout the 25 furnished rooms are displays of the furniture of a wealthy 18th-century commercial family as well as internationally important collections of decorative arts.
VITRA DESIGN MUSEUM Since Basel lies right on the international border, the Vitra Design Museum, although considered to be a Basel institution, is a fiveminute train ride just across the German Border from central Basel. By any measure, it is one of the world’s most important design museums.
DOLLHOUSE MUSEUM If you’re a collector of vintage dolls, this is the ultimate paradise for you. The Spielzeug Welten Museum displays a collection of more than 6,000 toys, including dolls, stuffed animals, dollhouses and carousels, that are definitely not just for children.

BY MARI SPIRITO Art Basel’s 2017 Consersations Program – Conversations, Art Basel’s talks series, will once more bring together leading artists, gallerists, collectors, art historians, curators, museum directors and critics from across the world. Programmed for the third year by Mari Spirito, Founding Director and Curator of Protocinema.
DR. MARIA BALSHAW The 23 talks will feature prominent art world figures including Dr. Maria Balshaw, Candice Breitz, Julian Charrière, Elmgreen & Dragset, Cécile B. Evans, Carlos Garaicoa, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Ekaterina Inozemtseva, Kasper König, Annette Messager, Frances Morris, Zanele Muholi, Claes Nordenhake, Aparna Rao, Zakharov, among many others.
BEATRIX RUF Invited to discuss the complexities of museum development in the talk ‘Reconsidering Museum Growth’ will be Beatrix Ruf. A debate surrounding ‘Cohabitation & What is wrong with Ecological Art’ will be the focus on Saturday, June 17.
STANLEY WHITNEY The following day, audiences will be able to gain insights into the collaboration between Stanley Whitney and Claes Nordenhake, Founder and Director, Galerie Nordenhake, in a talk entitled ‘The Artist and the Gallerist’, moderated by Alexie Glass- Kantor, Executive Director, Artspace, Sydney and Curator of Art Basel’s Encounters sector in Hong Kong.
CANDICE BREITZ Further highlights from Conversations include an artist talk moderated by Valerie Kabov, Editor-at-Large of Art Africa Magazine, Harare under the theme ‘Do Artists need to Leave Africa to be Successful?’, in which South African artists Candice Breitz and Zanele Muholi will discuss the contemporary African art scene.
YAZAN KHALILI The weekend program will include ‘Jerusalem Lives’, a conversation between Palestinian artist Yazan Khalili and Reem Fadda, Independent Curator, Amman, which will focus on the opening of The Palestinian Museum in 2016 and the first ever exhibition in the new space one year after its opening, curated by Reem Fadda.

BY SAMUEL LEUENBERGER Art Basel Parcours 2017: 22 Spots Curated by Samuel Leuenberger – Curated for the second year by Samuel Leuenberger, Director and Curator of SALTS in Birsfelden, Switzerland, Parcours returns with 22 site-specific artworks sited around Basel’s historical Münsterplatz.
PEDRO CABRITA REIS Parcours will feature artworks by both internationally renowned and emerging artists including Ai Weiwei, Katinka Bock, Pedro Cabrita Reis, Miriam Cahn, Berlinde de Bruyckere, Nathalie Djurberg and Hans Berg, Latifa Echakhch, GCC, Cally Spooner, Rirkrit Tiravanija and Wu Tsang.

IRON TREE Installed on Münsterplatz, Ai Weiwei’s monumental sculpture ‘Iron Tree’ (2016) will create a contemplative environment for viewers to reflect on their relationship to nature, culture, history and the self.
KATINKA BOCK As it is often the case with Katinka Bock’s work in the public arena, ‘Parasite Fountain‘ (2017) has both a poetic and a direct relationship to its environment.
WU TSANG Wu Tsang’s ‘The secret life of things is open’ (2014/2017) is set in the library and smoking room of the exclusive Club de Bâle, which is exceptionally opening its doors for this year’s Parcours.
THAN HUSSEIN CLARK Supported by MGM Resorts Art and Culture, ‘Yes, Yes, All the News that’s Fit To Print’ (2017) by Than Hussein Clark will transform Otto Rudolf Salvisberg’s ‘Erste Kirche Christi’ – a little-known but remarkable Modernist church from 1936 – into the artist’s own version of a Broadway theatre.
