Architect Zaha Hadid Throughout history and especially in modern times, various individuals shaped the art and science of designing buildings that is architecture. One of them was Zaha Hadid. Architect Zaha Hadid was born in Iraq’s capital, Baghdad in 1950. Since her family was quite wealthy, she attented multiple schools in Europe. After graduating from the American University of Beirut in the field of mathematics, she went on to study and finish architecture in London. After graduation, she stayed in England’s capital to work and even started her own architectural business. At this point in her life, she was a prominent architecture professor who worked for the best colleges around the world.

Even though her work was noticed while she was still in school and she continued working on some minor projects, her career got a boost in the early 1990-s. After some projects in Japan, she designed a fire station for a Swiss Company named Vitra. In that period she did some other minor projects, but that was just an overture to her world-class career that came along with the dawn of the 21st century. She redesigned a ski jumping hill stadium in Austrian Innsbruck. In 2005, she designed her most capital work to that date, the BMW Central Building in Leipzig. However, her rich opus was just starting to shape itself, as she designed the Guanghzou Opera House, MAXXI museum of contemporary art in Rome and many more.

Even though she won many awards for her admirable work, her greatest success in the aspect of honours was winning the prestigious Pritzker Prize in 2004. What’s even more impressive is the fact that she was the first woman ever to achieve that.Unfortunately, her prolific career came to an end upon her death in 2016, caused by a heart attack.

Hadid’s work is well appreciated around the world because of its originality and immense artistic value. Her buildings are eye-catching futuristic pieces of functional art, praised by both experts and architecture laymen. This British-Iraqi architect gave massive value to both her profession and society, which is thankful to her for creating something present and future generations will be able to observe, admire and enjoy in.
