union sidles up! Willow by name, willow(y) by nature. Designed for laptop work while seated, this small and slender pull-up table by KFI Studios is designed for quick collaboration and impromptu work in loungelike settings. Product designers Shaun Smith and Jeff Theesfeld, cofounders of UNION, used steel, aluminum, and laminate for the offset design, which can be positioned in front of the user or to the side, overhanging a chair or sofa. Pull Willow closer via a hidden grove. And, cleverly, the angled lower surface acts as footrest that is ergonomically designed to keep feet at an upward angle for optimal blood flow. Continuing the shape of his heralded Aston seating range, designer JeanMarie Massaud and manufacturer Arper launch the similarly generous and ergonomic Aston Club Low Back with a four-star base. The minimalist silhouette belies the contract lounge chair’s cocooning quality, engineered with precise craftmanship—and entirely without glue, thus reducing emissions. Each component can be disassembled and reupholstered as needed to ensure the longevity of the piece; at the eventual end of the chair’s life, all materials can be recycled or upcycled. space 346
