MINIMAL | ORGANIC | SOPHISTICATED
DESIGN APPROACH
A minimal and contemporary design that is open and light while incorporating biophilia, organic forms, and materials and colours in a refined and sophisticated way.
The design supports the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of the factually and visitors of the Humber International Development Institute, located in the Learning Resource Commons at North Campus. It forms an inviting atmosphere by creating a sense of openness and a connection to nature. Implemented is a design approach that embraces open sightlines through the use of glass partitions and large windows, strengthening daylight and views. This connects factually and visitors to each other and the natural environment, which has been proven to increase productivity and well-being in the workplace.
RECEPTION WAITING AREA
The waiting area incorporates seating, coat storage, a television and a fireplace, which creates a cozy atmosphere. The reception waiting area is adjacent to the cafe hub, where visitors can feel welcome to grab a drink while waiting.
REFERENCE
A space with a self-serve coffee station, microwave drawer, and organically shaped seating with integrated greenery, all of which are adjacent to a curtain wall that allows natural light to enter the space softly.
NON-DEDICATED & TOUCHDOWN WORKSTATIONS
An open area with workstations that are used for shorter periods by individuals or teams of the organization. The arched ceiling aid in defining the different spaces and the incorporation of biophilic elements help to strengthen the project’s design intent.

CHANEL BOUTIQUE
RETAIL PROJECT
This Project is a design of an upscale Chanel fashion boutique at the vacated premises of 14 Distillery Lane. The boutique is designed within a single-height space, occupying 1,650 square feet, and is located in the Distillery Historic District, a well-known tourist destination in Toronto, Ontario. The design takes into consideration that this is a historic site that can undertake renovations as long as it does not alter or ruin the original structure of the building. In addition, the design recognizes this as a destination shopping experience, providing an innovative and unique customer experience. Blending form with function, the design is fully accessible to all individuals while truly embodying the Chanel brand’s timeless refinement.

A newly designed Chanel Boutique, located in the upscale Distillery Shopping District in Toronto, Canada, selling luxury women’s apparel, shoes, and bags. Chanel prides itself on the customer experience as its products are exclusively sold in stores.
Chanel’s sophistication and daring quality truly inspire the design. The design prioritizes the customer experience with an open, light floor plan and a design that encapsulates both the delicacy and edge of the brand, blending linear lines with curved forms; a refined, sophisticated, and timeless simplicity. The understated curved forms throughout the space provide a stunning backdrop for Chanel’s one-of-a-kind
BOUTIQUE MAIN ENTRANCE
Guidelines indicate that there are to be no modifications to the outside brick of the building. As a result, lighting and back-lit and wall-mounted Chanel signage are carefully integrated on the exterior. In addition, designed is a bespoke Chanel Logo door handle.

This residential Project is a 1400 square footage cottage retreat located in the Archipelago, a township in Central Ontario, Canada, along the Georgian Bay in the District of Parry Sound. The Project primarily focuses on the architectural elements and is a contemporary design that celebrates the natural environment by connecting the interior spaces with the site.

SIMPLE | CONTEMPORARY | TRANQUIL
DESIGN APPROACH
This cottage retreat’s design approach is adaptive and addresses the client’s needs and desires by creating a comprehensive design from the inside out - “form ever follows function” (Louis Sullivan). This implies that a building’s purpose should be the starting point for its design. The cottage is used as a weekend retreat for an environmentally conscious client, a small family of three, who occasionally entertain guests. The design approach abides by the zoning rules and regulations, considers all aspects of the site and its impact, and creates a building shape, placement, and orientation that optimizes specific views, given the obstructions. Some key elements within this approach include: prioritizing the client’s needs, creating a design that separates communal and private areas, designing interior spaces that have a powerful connection to the site, and optimizing the views from the cottage.
A simple and contemporary design that embraces the natural environment, celebrates materiality and structure and creates a warm and relaxing atmosphere.
SITE FRONT EXTERIOR
The design combines four different structures on separate levels; bedrooms and private spaces are located in the north structures, away from communal spaces located in the south structure. While private and collaborative spaces are separated, they’re connected by a breezeway, the building’s main entry, which offers beautiful bay views through the tall cedar trees as it towers over the rocky bay. The building is oriented to the bay, and its placement and shape responds to the site’s slope as it’s perched upon the rocky topography, elevated on piers.
LIVING, KITCHEN & DINING
The structure allows the interior spaces to primarily take advantage of the west bay and its year-round sunset views, offering breathtaking views of the quiet bay from the 12-foot cliff.
LIVING & KITCHEN
In addition, south-facing windows will allow plenty of light to flow into these spaces year-round.
PRINCIPLE BEDROOM [SUNSET]
The Principal Bedroom is oriented to sunset bay views, while the Second Bedroom is oriented to sunrise views. However, both spaces will receive soft, even daylight throughout the day due to their north-facing windows. In addition, the utilization of large floor-to-ceiling windows allows the interior spaces to have a powerful connection to the site, maximizing the views of the bay. At the same time, the decks offer an extension to interior living spaces, while offering additional bay views.
PEIDRA SAL RESTAURANT HOSPITALITY PROJECT
This project is an alteration of an existing building developing a full-scale hospitality space for the upscale-casual Mexico City restaurant Piedra Sal. The building area is approximately 3788 ft2, and the height to the underside of the slab is 28ft. The project cultivates an appropriate direction for Piedra Sal by embracing a design that reflects great respect for traditional Mexican architecture while boldly integrating modernity.
Bachelor of Interior Design, Semester 5

DESIGN APPROACH
Inspired by progression, Piedra Sal’s signature linear forms and the natural environment, the project creates a journey through different conditions of light, scale, and visual and spatial integration. By creating texture through line and geometry, the project composes a dynamic design that feels effortless and inviting. The use of concrete, stone, wood and metal, elements commonly found in Mexican construction, serves as the primary materials for the project, provoking the project’s analogous colour palette. Each space within the design is unique and subtly defined while generating different sensations that are seamlessly integrated with the gastronomic proposal of chef José Manuel Baños and his team’s friendly and professional style. The conceptual approach combines utter relaxation and dining through natural materials, natural lighting and interior-exterior interaction to evoke a space that is welcoming, dynamic, unpretentious and memorable.
CEILING DESIGN
The restaurant’s main ceiling is designed to enhance and reinforce the overall design concept for Piedra Sal, as it creates moments that allow natural light to enter the space while carefully intergrating the building systems the ceiling supports.

MAIN DINING ROOM
Chef José Manuel Baños adds his personal touch to every element in the kitchen, creating a menu that encompasses local ingredients that evolve to unique interpretations; this story is told throughout different spaces in the design.

CAMPUS DENTAL CLINIC HEALTHCARE PROJECT
The Project is a holistic design of the new facility of the Humber Dental Clinic, located on the 3rd floor of the Learning Resource Commons (LRC) at Humber College North Campus, occupying 280 square meters, east of the atrium.
The official symbol of dentistry ignites our design concept. While this symbol can be broken up into many parts, it is the fern that is the true inspiration. The fern is also known as “AYA,” which means “I am not afraid,” symbolizing strength, durability, and courage. The shape of the fern also motivates the organization of spaces within the design.
