Festivals in Moscow This week in the capital will take place-interesting festivals. Welcome the Yoga day with a cute inf- graphic about yoga benefits and a other great event the Picnic in English in Gorky Park.


International Day of Yoga

At the summer solstice day - this year for the first time, will be held the International Day of yoga. On the second floor balcony of the design center Artplay will meet the best teachers and lovers of yoga. Great entertainment and educational programs of the festival will focus on promoting a healthy lifestyle and a good attitude to the world. In connection with the day of the solstice will be the main event of a mass execution of complex “Sun salutation” 108 times participants in the festival. Everyone will be able to attend master classes in different directions of Yoga - Vinyasa Flow, dynamic meditation, yoga universal etc. There you will also have the possibility to participate in classes of capoeira, dance juzz funk and learn about the basics of Thai massage. Prepared training complex for women, in which representatives of the beautiful half of humanity will be able to learn all about their health.

At the celebration will be allocated a space for creativity, where participants will be able to learn weaving mandalas, painting or decorate your body with henna patterns. For children there are sports games and a special yoga program. For the first time in Moscow, an exhibition of the famous photographer and war correspondent James Hill “Between war and peace.” During his twenty-year career as a reporter James visited many countries, including many “hot spots”. Seeing the different aspects of life - peace and war, James Hill made a collection of his photographs reflect the

vivid contrast of household life of the inhabitants of the world. On the exhibition you can see unique shots made in Chechnya, Afghanistan, Iraq, in one of the most difficult times for those countries. is a leading photographer and photojournalist and his images have won many of photography’s most important prizes including World Press Photo, the Pulitzer Prize, the Visa d’Or at Perpignan’s Visa Pour L’Image, and awards from The Over­ seas Press Club of America and the NPPA. He began his career after studies at Oxford Uni­versity and the London College of Printing, leaving England for the Soviet Union in the autumn of 1991.

Plunged immediately into the strife of the war torn republics of the former Soviet Union he worked initially as a freelancer before joining The New York Times on contract in 1995. He was based first in Moscow and then in Rome, from where he departed to cover the battles of the US led war on terror in Afghan­istan in 2001 and the invasion of Iraq in 2003. In recent years he has returned to Moscow and travels across the

world focusing his attention on lon­ger projects as well as indepth news features. Hill is re­cognised, in particular, for blending a style of environ­ mental portraits and landscapes, and mixing an ar­tistic and journalistic awareness of the world around him. His series of books and exhibitions have been supported by both governmental and commercial agencies. Among recent projects were “Victory Day,” an extensive portrait

series of more than 500 Russian WWII veterans published with the support of the Brit­ ish Council and “Days of San Isidro,” a study on bull­fighting commissioned by the Spanish Ministry of For­eign Affairs. His latest book, “Somewhere Between War and Peace,” an examination of the emotional and artistic forces dominating a photographer’s career, is published by Kehrer Verlag. His work has been shown in solo exhibits

Palladio in Russia The name of Andrea Palladio, the Italian architect of the XVI century, has heard every one of us. And those who are engaged in architecture, it is rightly considered the most influential architect in the world. was an Italian architect active in the Republic of Venice. Palladio, influenced by Roman and Greek architecture, primarily by Vitruvius, is widely considered to be the most influential individual in the history of architecture. All of his buildings are located in what was the Venetian Republic, but his teachings, summarized in the architectural treatise, The Four Books of Architecture, gained him wide recognition. The city of Vicenza and the Palladian Villas of the Veneto are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
