ALSA CORNER Event Review: OLMA ALSA LC UI Board of 2021 Written by: Naura Maharani

ALSA LC UI has just completed one of its annual work programs, which is OLMA ALSA LC UI Board of 2021! This year, OLMA was held with the theme “Ignite Your Fire, Soar Together”. Began with Pre-OLMA, the event started with an introduction to OLMA and ALSA LC UI, general information about regulations and tasks during OLMA, an introduction on how to make position papers, event proposals, and ended with a sharing session with the internship divisions. Two weeks after Pre-OLMA, the highlight of the event arrived. The first day of OLMA was filled with excitement! Participants got to learn about the history and organizational structure of ALSA delivered by ALSA International Board, ALSA Indonesia National Board, and Board of Directors ALSA LC UI. Participants also got the chance to have sharing sessions with other Local Chapters, learning about self-management, organization skills, leadership skills, and bidding simulations. The fun didn't stop there! The second day of OLMA was also filled with other exciting activities, starting with English session, games session, Tata Cara Bersidang session, awarding session, and ended with closing symbolization to welcome ALSA LC UI Batch 2021.

Upcoming Event: ALSA CLCC LC UI 2021 Written by: Fatrekiesa K. Aranta

ALSA Care and Legal Coaching Clinic, or also known as ALSA CLCC, is an annual event that aims to implement the “socially responsible” and “legally skilled” pillars of ALSA. This year, ALSA CLCC 2021 brings the theme of “Guide a Light to Women’s Rights” to raise awareness regarding the fulfillment and protection of women’s rights. During this year, ALSA CLCC 2021 will focus on gender-based violence, thus it also prioritizes helping women workers to acknowledge their rights to be free from gender-based violence in public and private aspects. Moreover, ALSA CLCC 2021 will be held with a sequence of events from the virtual exhibition, open donation, pre-event, and the main event. With those agendas, ALSA CLCC 2021 hopes to build upon the public's awareness on women’s rights simultaneously. Therefore, hopefully gender-based violence can be eliminated later on.

ALSA CORNER Here We Go! Wonderful Parks and Café to Visit Post-Pandemic Written by: Putu Adrien Premadhitya We’ve been hearing a lot of positive news regarding the pandemic recently and they are signs we’re going back to our pre-pandemic life. Spending almost two years at home is definitely tiring, so we’ve prepared a list of places you’d love to relax and chill in!

Noble One Jakarta Noble One Jakarta is located in Toto Building (yes, TOTO, the toilet manufacturing company). You will get attached to this place especially if you like a clean-cut interior, excellent cup of coffee, and a plate of fried rice. Noble One is perfect for people who have just readjust themselves to the bustling office life. After all, it is located in one of the busiest office streets in Jakarta.

Monsieur Spoon at Urban Farm PIK PIK area is no doubt the hip place lately. Monsieur Spoon stood in the middle of a culinary center called Urban Farm. You can indulge yourself in their French pastries and other tasty menus such as Le Escargot and Beef Wagyu Bourguignon. Do not forget to peek outside the window for a beautiful beach view!

Kebun Raya Bogor This botanical garden built in the era of Governor General Thomas Stamford Raffles pleases the eyes through the wonderful greens. Living up to its name, Kebun Raya Bogor is the biggest botanical garden in Indonesia. Check out their Orchidarium Garden to see exotic orchids blooming or Soedjana Kassan Garden for a walk. You can even have a jogging session here!

Hutan Kota Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta If you prefer spending time in a park while having a picnic, Hutan Kota Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta might be a great choice for you. ALSA CORNER Legal Issue: The Controversy of Alleged Suspect in Sexual Harassment Case to Countersue Victim for Defamation. Written by: Charolina Nugroho Recently, an employee of Central Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) wrote in a statement that he had been bullied and sexually harassed since 2011 by his coworkers. He had reported it to KOMNAS HAM but he was advised to report it to the police because the incident he experienced was considered as criminal conduct. However, his report at Gambir Sector Police was rejected and he was suggested to resolve the problem internally. After the statement went viral, the case is now being processed by the Central Jakarta Police for further investigation. The Central KPI also suspended eight employees who were suspected of being perpetrators. The perpetrators decided to countersue the victim using ITE Law because they believe that disclosing their names in his statement to public are considered as defamation. However, this regulation contradicts the Article 10 of Witness and Victim Protection Law, which stated that victims or witnesses who provide testimony cannot be prosecuted until the case is completed and has permanent legal force based on court decision. This sexual harassment case at KPI is just the tip of the iceberg. There are plenty cases of sexual harassment where males are the victim

Written by: Melki Sedek H. The fact that victims who speak out against sexual abuse could be countersued with defamation, shows how weak the Indonesian legal system is in protecting and providing justice for victims of sexual violence. Cases of sexual violence for which we have not yet had a comprehensive legal basis at the moment, indeed, require us to be more focus in exploring countermeasures, which involve the part of general public who long for justice to speak up for the victims in various channels. This countersuit can certainly create a bad atmosphere for handling cases of sexual violence as it may cause the countless victims of sexual violence even more afraid to

First of all, it’s a shame that such incident happened at one of the independent regulatory bodies in Indonesia. Anyone who works as an employee, shall be granted a safety and healthy workplace, especially KPI as State’s regulatory body. Moreover, I believe that KPI must be held responsible to settle this case completely and guarantee the victim’s mental state, and not to let the perpetrators sued the victim for defamation. Reza Putra Ketua PERFILMA FH UI 2021

The theme of this event is “Towards the Future of Indonesia’s Mining Industries”, which means that Indonesia as a country with an enormous potential in the mining industries, can also transform its mining industries into national income. The mining industry also often doesn’t pay attention to the impact it gives towards the environment and the people. Based on that th problem, the theme was chosen in order to raise people's awareness towards the issue. The 8 nd st Sciencesational is being held from 2 of August and will continue until 21 of November 2021, so don’t forget to register!
