Having spent more than a quarter of a century on long term loan to Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa has instructed International Art Centre to sell these works from her personal collection. This unprecedented offering includes three major paintings by Charles Frederick Goldie along with other Australian & New Zealand works of art. The sale also includes museum quality works from private collections with works by Doris Lusk, Raymond McIntyre, Isabel Jane Field, Ralph Hotere, Peter McIntyre & others featured. A rare opportunity now exists for vendors of Important Contemporary & Historical artworks to be showcased in this special auction event. Important & Rare auctions are the proven, preeminent sale category for major works of art offered for sale in New Zealand. These auctions take place three times annually. As we fast approach our 50th year in business, experience continues to equal results. 2014 saw Important & Rare auctions realise five of New Zealand’s top ten auction prices. The following year saw new records set with the two top prices in Auckland achieved. With the addition of the record $1.377 million paid for a C F Goldie, International Art Centre achieved the three highest art auction prices in New Zealand’s history.
