THEATER AND DANCE OF COMMEDIA DELL’ARTE ILE organizes 2 week courses in Dance and Commedia dell'Arte in Florence for actors and dancers to enhance their physical expression and learn the techniques of storytelling and improvisation of the Commedia dell'Arte. Dancing and learning about mask making are also part of this workshop. The course is geared toward understanding the historic "Commedia dell Arte" (Comedy of Art), developed in Italy, and study of original choreography from the XV and XVI centuries. The actor, director, educator and writer Roberto Andrioli alongside professional dancer and actor Marco Bendoni, will lead this theatre workshop. Programe: • Study improvisation and masks. • Body language and vocal. • Technical and recitation with masks. • Analyze and study the characters of the Commedia dell’Arte. • Study of historical scenes from the Commedia dell’Arte with dance. • Study of original choreography from the XVI, XVII and XVIII • Improvisation exercises on elements of Ancient Dance • Learning tricks of the characters of the Commedia dell’Arte. • Definition of short monologues of characters of the Commedia dell’Arte. • Final show in the city of Florence and Tuscany. Dates: February, April and August (You can do it in one week). Duration: 50 hours of instruction, extra cultural activities, costums renting and final performance. Price: 750€ (not included flight tickets, meals and insurance).
