CHICAGO BOTANIC GARDEN The Chicago Botanic Garden is one of the top attractions in our area. There is a Rose Garden, an English Walled Garden, Japanese Islands, a Vegetable & Fruit Garden and a huge aquatic area. The early October foliage and flowers should be glorious. Find out about their Halloween Celebration and Winter Wonderland events later this year. It costs $25 per car to park so it is best to carpool with friends. For those who would like to have a bite to eat after walking around, there are refreshments in the Cafeteria. Do not forget to bring your cameras! HALLOWEEN AND PUMPKIN CARVING A very popular and fun filled event at the lovely home of Joan Fragen in Winnetka. Pumpkins will be provided and you can let your creative juices flow. If you are a newcomer you will learn about the American holiday of Halloween and the traditions. You will taste roasted pumpkin seeds and pumpkin bread.
