GETTING TO NORTHWESTERN FROM THE AIRPORT Chicago O'Hare International Airport is approximately an hour from Northwestern's Evanston campus. There are several options for getting from the airport to campus, depending on time and budget: Go Airport Express Shuttle Airport Express Shuttle provides shared rides from the airport to campus, and as a Northwestern student, you will receive a discount. Reserve your spot online AT LEAST 24 hours before your flight. You must be able to show yourI-20/DS-2019 from Northwestern to receive the student discount. If you are attending our Undergraduate Orientation Program, they should drop you off at Foster Walker. Cost is about $28. Taxi/Cab There are Taxi lines outside of the baggage claim area. You should join the line of others waiting for a taxi, and take the cab at the front of the line. Make sure that you only take cabs from the official taxi line, and do not accept rides from anyone soliciting inside the airport. This will cost roughly $4045 with tip. Public transportation—Pace and CTA Though not recommended if you have a lot of luggage, you can take Pace, the suburban public transit system into Evanston, and switch to the CTA, Chicago's public transit system. Pace is $1.75, and the CTA is $2.25. To do this, take the airport shuttle (free) to long-term parking/Pace. From there, take Pace bus route 250 from O'Hare to the Davis Street CTA station in downtown Evanston.

If you would prefer to rent a car during ISO, there will be a number of options available from the airport. Expect tolls if traveling from O’Hare. For tips on renting and driving in the U.S. try these helpful links: CAR RENTAL TIPS TRAVELING BY CAR IN THE U.S.

Evanston

The CTA is $2.25 per ride To get to Evanston from O’Hare, take the blue line toward the loop, transfer to the Red Line at Jackson, and to the Purple Line at Howard. Get off at Davis for Allison Hall, Foster for the FosterWalker Complex, and Noyes for Kemper Hall.

Please join us for a cocktail reception on Friday, September 12, 2014, at 6pm at the Heritage Ballroom at the Hilton Orrington Hotel in downtown Evanston. Come hear remarks from Associate Provost Ron Breautigam, and meet the International Office Staff and representatives from the Office of Parent and Family Giving while your students enjoy a campus tour provided by their International Peer advisors. A welcome dinner for both students and parents will follow the reception at the Grand Ballroom at the Hilton Orrington Hotel at 7pm.

Still need supplies? The International Office is partnering with Bed, Bath and Beyond to provide shuttle and personal shopping services at their Wilmette location on Friday, September 12, 2014. Purchase bedding, towels, toiletries, office supplies, and more. Shuttles will run every 15 minutes beginning at 3pm, departing from the International Office. Please plan on finishing your shopping and returning to campus by 5pm so parents may attend the welcome reception at the Hilton Orrington Hotel at 6pm, and students are able to tour campus with their International Peer Advisors.
