INTIMEIA has been manufacturing socks in Oporto, Portugal since 1975. The long run of our second generation family-run business, is based on experience, reliability and a constant striving for the latest technologies and innovative designs. These core values has enabled INTIMEIA to be a long lasting synonym of high quality socks on our national and international markets. Our company’s industrial hub is a professional working environment for a team of 29 and is equipped with a wide range of state-of-the-art machines, varying from 96 up to 240 needles. At the heart of our operations is our skillful staff who apply their know-how, acquired over years of experience, to all our individual products, enabling us to produce 2 million pairs of socks per year. Our supply chain, provides us with a wide range of yarns of the highest quality, all with international certification and standards. Our attention to detail, on every stage of the manufacturing process allied with the finest yarns are key factors to ensure that we produce socks using the right materials, and right knitting techniques, meeting needs and expectations of our valued customers. We currently operate in two strands: nationally, our range of products are sold under our own licenced brand (BOBŽ), a well-established leading brand in our domestic market; internationally, we are currently working across the globe with more than 10 international reference brands (e.g Chattyfeet) and exporting to more than 6 countries including the United States and Australia.
In the development of socks, several factors must be considered before starting production. Patterns and designs are assessed in accordance with the customer’s job specifications, enabling us to optimize the number of needles to be use (machine type), yarns, production capacity, delivery dates and pricing.
Our supply chain, provides us with a wide range of yarns of the highest quality, all with international certification and standard, allowing us to meet all our customers needs.

A wide range of high-tech knitting machines, varying from 96 up to 240 needles, enable us to produce 2 million pairs of socks per year, and will be able to meet  all of our customers’ demands.
In the first quality check, the knitter is looking for missing stitches, or any other mistakes.
After being knitted, socks are washed and dried to remove oils and yarn waste resulting from the knitting process. This adds a soft touch to the socks . Although our knitting machines are equipped with the latest seaming technology, in some specific cases, socks can be seamed manually. In accordance with our customers’ job specifications, the boarding can be made manually or automatically. Whilst the socks are manufactured using the  same yarn settings, there may beminor variations in size and finish. The human pairing process provides the best match.
The final steps of the production process are labelling and packaging. The paired socks are labeled and then packed for shipment or placed in storage to fulfill future orders, according to the customer’s requirements.
