Introduction

This activity will take placement while you are on a placement in a Health and Social Care setting. You will need to: • Support individuals with money management, using different mathematics

Learning In this task you will be covering the areas detailed below: • Health and Social Care: • Working with money in figures and words

• Calculate how much money you have left over. • Supporting an individual with their financial affairs Once you have completed the task, discuss this with your workplace mentor.

Functional Skills:

It would be useful to have the following:

• Select and apply mathematics in an organised way to find solutions to practical problems for different purposes.

You are supporting a resident with a learning disability to go the bank to deposit ÂŁ18.27 for a bill. You need to write this

You then take the individual shopping and you need to monitor their spending. They have £127.52 They have purchased a dress for £21.57, a necklace for £10.28 and a pair of shoes for £12.22.

Please work out the following calculations: Spending amount (£127.52) – dress (£21.57) = Minus the necklace (£10.28) = Finally minus the cost of the shoes (£12.22) = With the money you have left over the individual would like to go for dinner they spend another £6.10 how much does the individual take home? (Show calculations below, continue on to the next sheet if required)
