Learning In this task you will be covering the areas detailed below: • Children and Young People’s Workforce: • Basic understanding of the settings particular policies and procedures • Basic understanding of legislative requirements • Training in skills that you may need to develop Functional Skills English • Read and understand different types of text in detail • Identify the main points and how they are presented in a variety of different types of texts • Write clearly and coherently, including an appropriate level of detail • Ensure written work includes generally accurate punctuation and spelling and the meaning is clear in more than one type of text.
Task 1
Ask your manager for your placement’s policies and procedures and review the text to find out the key points and phrases within them. 1. You need to read the text to identify the key points and phrases. 2. Highlight the key phrases. What is a key phrase? 3. Summarise the policies Chose one key phrase and describe why you have identified it as important. Use the notes page overleaf to write down your ideas and plan your summary.
