WINS TWO MAJOR AWARDS
For over 27 years, Leah Jay has helped property investors and tenants move towards more in the Newcastle and Hunter region. Since founder Leah Jay transformed ‘rentals’ into Property Management back in 1994, Leah Jay has become an industry leader in this field and the most awarded property managers in NSW.
Now into its 25th year, the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales (REINSW) Awards for Excellence recognises the best, bravest, and brightest work across the industry.
The winners of the 2021 REINSW Awards for Excellence were revealed online again this year, and the Leah Jay team were awarded the coveted NSW Residential Property Management Team.
In what was the most competitive category of the Awards, with nine finalists in the final round, Leah Jay is extremely proud to have taken out this title. This recognises the efforts of the entire team across all three Leah Jay offices.
The second award, Operational Support, was won by Leasing & Inspection Unit Manager Rebecca Eveleigh. Rebecca has been with Leah Jay for six years and is the highly valued leader of the Leasing team, a team that has gone through fundamental changes over the challenging COVID-19 period.
“It’s wonderful to see Rebecca, a long-standing member of our team, recognised at these prestigious awards,” Cassandra Lantry, General Manager, said.
“It is testament to Bec’s commitment to her professional development and her unwavering belief in the Leasing team and what they are trying to achieve.”
“Our nominations in two categories, ‘Operational Support’ and ‘Residential Property Management Team’, demonstrate the work we do behind the scenes to stay at the forefront of property management,” Cassandra said.
Leah Jay has an extraordinary history with the Awards, having consistently been nominated in multiple categories since 1994 with a total of 10 wins and 27 nominations. Stand aside school catchments and easy water access. According to experts at Australia's largest independent property valuation firm, the newest driver of residential demand is... industrial.
Chris McKillop, a commercial director at Herron Todd White, said the emergence of 'Lifestyle Industrial' is changing the face of sought-after residential markets across the country, with the phenomenon creating a prime opportunity for homeowners and investors. "Lifestyle industrial sees sheds moving away from their traditional use for businesses like smash repair shops, spray painters and steel fabricators, and toward more
Industrial Lifestyle Precincts
Drive Demand resident-friendly operations such as microbreweries, high-quality restaurants, cafes, hairdressers and florists. Some have even become live music venues fronting retail clothing outlets, gyms and sporting venues," he said Mr McKillop said that lifestyle industrial had flipped the property game on its head for both homeowners and investors. Historically, being near industrial property was an absolute no-go for residents, with claims of noise, smell and heavy-use activity being a turn-off. "But these new precincts are now being embraced by residents, the flow on benefits for their property values – some are even choosing to live within the industrial hubs themselves."

ADVERTISING FEATURE
PLANNING YOUR 2022 BUSINESS STRATEGY, LOOKING TO ESCAPE THE ISOLATION OF THE HOME OFFICE OR COFFEE SHOP, OR MERELY CURIOUS ABOUT THE INCREASINGLY POPULAR INDUSTRY OF COWORKING SPACES? COME CHECK OUT NEWCASTLE’S NEWEST FLEXI-SPACE PROVIDER, WOTSO, AT 1 TUDOR STREET, NEWCASTLE WEST.
Just like the traditional workplace, coworking has evolved dramatically – no, coworking spaces aren’t just for tech start-ups anymore. Many businesses, therefore, more industries are recognising the benefits and ease of pursuing a flexible workspace arrangement: the leading benefit – flexibility. Signing five-year leases are a thing of the past. Instead, say hello to month-to-month agreements, the ability to scale as needed and the means to change your membership without any financial loss or repercussions.
WOTSO offers an alternative to the traditional office or home set up, with near-to-home locations – focusing on bringing the amenities of the CBD to suburban and regional areas of Australia. Shared amenities at your fingertips such as serviced meeting rooms, podcasting studios, workshops, events, snacks – you name it. Initially, the idea of “coworking” was sparked to facilitate collaborative work and shared resources. To this day, flexible workspaces tap into the sharing economy. For example, why buy podcasting equipment when you can rent it on an as-needed basis without the need to purchase it, rent space permanently to store and use it, and then maintain the equipment.
The importance of flexibility in the workforce has been highlighted more than ever. Flexible workspaces offer you cost savings and convenience that are essential for small to medium enterprises. Private offices, permanent desks, daily drop-ins, bundle passes, the WOTSO Passport – the options at WOTSO are endless and genuinely flexible under no-lock in contracts.
With site managers and receptionists available during the working day, you will always feel welcome at WOTSO. Step into the modern and exciting environment built for small to medium Aussie businesses to find a home and scale.
WOTSO is workspace made easy. Enquire today at 02 4044 5021 or www.wotsoworkspace.com.au
MYTH 1. Flexi workspaces are just for freelancers and tech start-
ups. WOTSO is agnostic to industry.

MYTH 2. You must socialise in a
coworking space. Whilst WOTSO organises events, workshops, and opportunities for socialising and networking, at the end of the day, everyone chooses WOTSO with a common purpose – to get work done. There is never an obligation to socialise or attend events.
MYTH 3. Flexi workspaces need to be in the CBD. It only took a pandemic for the rest of the world to get behind
WOTSO’s vision – WOTSO brings CBD amenities to the suburbs giving you the option to cut the commute and achieve a greater work-life balance.
With more companies allowing employees to work from home, you might want to try working near home (WNH).
MYTH 4. Flexi workspaces are
not for corporates. WOTSO is for everyone. A significant portion of
WOTSO members work in or service the corporate sector. Corporates can choose to have their office at WOTSO, or they may decide to purchase 100-day passes per month for their workforce to use at any one of our 19 locations that are close to their home, meaning they remove the distractions of WFH but get all the benefits of
WNH.
MYTH 5. It isn’t easy to join a
coworking space. All you have to do is email, call or pop in and WOTSO will be able to answer any questions you have and organise a tour of the space.
You could be working from WOTSO the day you walk in for your tour.
Bring your computer, and WOTSO will organise the rest. It’s really that easy.
