Patient Experience of Ideal Dental Care

I occasionally sit back and think about what patients would consider to be “the ideal experience” for their dental care.
Yeah, sure, ideally, this would be a ZERO requirement for treatment. However, this is not realistic for many people with either existing dental problems or a history of dental treatment that warrants maintenance.

If we shortlist desirable dental care elements, what do we think that would look like?

1. Excellent Management of Fundamentals – Fundamentals in dentistry are the most basic elements of dental health –management of gum disease and sound teeth/fillings: the cornerstones of all dental health.

2. Patient Results based on Understanding – Closely related to the above is patient understanding of the difference between health and disease and HOW to tip the balance in favour of HEALTH. Patient education/understanding is critical for longterm, successful health outcomes. Best of all, education is preventative and basically FREE to our patients.

3. Minimally Invasive – Nobody wants any more cutting of teeth than absolutely necessary. BelleDental has always focused on the absolute minimal number and degree of interventions necessary to produce optimal dental health outcomes.

4. Holistic Care – Points 1, 2 and 3 above – combined – are the definition of holistic care. The more education-based, minimalistic, focused care you receive – the more holistic your care.

5. Repairable and Upgradable – Dental care that is both repairable and upgradeable is the key to longer dental treatment lifecycles. Long lifecycles = fewer interventions and LESS COST. We have all had consumer products that are unrepairable – when they fail, you throw them out and get a NEW ONE. Try doing that with your teeth!

6. Become the MOST boring Patient – At BelleDental, we celebrate what we call our “most boring patients”. This is not an insult: this is an accolade bestowed on our patients that celebrates the experience of decades of largely trouble-free dentistry –patients who are on their way to keeping their teeth for life!

If you desire dental care that embodies this shortlist – I urge you to try the BelleDental difference.
