A Mc is doing what is not. Ha ha. Dj Quest95: So you are saying that you have to think about what you say. You care about what comes out your mouth. Kenny: Yeah. Left to Right: MaynStream, Kenny Ali, Dj Quest95

Kenny Ali is the hottest rap artist to hit the streets of the Midwest. It doesn't get any sicker than this! Not only is he a phenomenal lyricist, but a talented producer, and engineer as well. Kenny Ali is what the industry is missing (The total package). He began rapping at the age of 6 when Hip Hop just started to go mainstream influenced by the movie "CRUSH GROOVE" it was pretty much a wrap from that point on in his young life. He has been the opening act for several household names such as Lil Scrappy, Lil Jon and the Eastside Boyz, Pitbull, and G-UNIT. He also has performed at the Atlantis Music Conference, CMJ Marothon in NY(BOWERY POETRY CLUB), and the M.A.C. Talent showcase held in Youngstown, Ohio. (myspace profile)

Dj Quest95: My man Kenny Ali is putting it down for Youngstown. MaynStream what exactly is it that you do? Are you producing, making it happen or what? Dj Quest95: I need to see that in my email box. Well congratulations and good luck. Thank you for stopping by Intro Magazine. KennyAli.com and Maynstream.com

Lucky Penny Luck Penny is quickly becoming a well known name in Ohio’s regional hip hop music scene. With singles like “Lucky Penny” and “Pick it up” taking over college radio this past year there is much anticipation surrounding Luck’s upcoming release Penny Candy. Luck Penny (born Charles Penny) established himself as a viable talent in 2003 with his self released debut “On My Own”. The album “On My Own” is an expression of his struggle with love, life and music, although he is seen through society’s eyes as a hip hop artist he considers himself to be a songwriter as well. Because of his song writing ability and deeply expressive voice fans gravitated to the albums realness and “On My Own” went on to sale over 2,000 copies. Since his 2003 release Luck Penny has been hard at work, in his quest to change the face of hip hop music. He has opened up for some of hip hops hottest acts such as G-Unit’s Lloyd Banks & Young Buck, the Young Bloodz, Baby Bash, and Slim Thug. He has been a stand out talent in every industry music conference he has attended. At the 2005 Florida Music Festival Luck Penny received a standing ovation from the A&R panelist at the trash and bash competition for his heartfelt tribute song “Died a Hero” for all the fallen soldiers. “Died A Hero” has received airplay from several college radio stations and featured on XM satellite radio’s unsigned channel. To keep his fans appetite wet

Luck P released his self titled EP “Lucky Penny” which featured the summer club and radio hit “Pick It Up”. (myspaxe profile) Dj Quest95: First On the red carpet is Lucky Penny from Youngstown, Ohio. He is a nominee and presenter as well. Lucky now I understand that you have your own radio show in Youngstown. When you got nominated were you excited or was this something that you expected? Lucky Penny: It was something that came unexpectedly because I am a hip hop artist first. I just kinda fell into radio so to be fresh at radio and to get nominated was like wow I really appreciate that. DjQuest95: Well, thats whassup. So you are a hip hop artist as well. Can we expect a project coming soon from you? Lucky Penny: Definitely, I got that “Penny Candy” coming real soon. So good you can taste it, trust me. Dj Quest95: Any special presentations from anybody from Cleveland that will be presented on the album? Lucky Penny: Yes, we have my man Arrophat who is nominated for lyricist of the year. We have my production company MaynStream who works also as my promotion/management company. T-Luv and if you ever slide through Youngstown make sure you check out 101.9 Jamz Myspace.com/luckypenny 8

MACHINE GUN KELLY DjQuest95: We are standing here with Cleveland artist Machine Gun Kelly. Please tell our readers what you are nominated for? MGK: I am nominated for best new artist and best live performance. DjQuest95:Man that is hot. How are you just going to come on the scene and get both best new artist and performer (Lol)? So tell me about the new project.

you know what I mean. Dj Quest95: Alright. MGK: As far as what the state it is in I am not to sure. I am not sure of the difference. It is obvious that there is a difference between rap and hip hop but to distinguish between the both I wouldn’t really know. I just make music. Whether it is rap or hip hop I really don’t give a fuck. You all about machine gun Kelly right now. Myspace.com/machinegunkellyak

MGK: We have the “Stamp of Approval” mixtape coming out October 12th and we have the release party at Peabody’s. You know we have to do it all ages. We have Lazy Bone and a couple of other people that I am not going to reveal right now. You know its hot! DjQuest95: You have a lot of special stuff going on. (Sly from the back mentions Chip- The Ripper). You have Cleveland’s own representing on your mixtape. Let me ask you a serious question right now about the status and presence of hip hop versus rap or is hip hop and rap the same thing or do you feel there is a difference with on leading the other or vice versa? MGK: Hip-Hop is something that you LISTEN to, Rap is something that you just HEAR. I am just trying to make good music to listen to 9

Left to Right: Sly Airbrush, Machine Gun Kelly, Dj Quest95:

Conya Doss Born and raised on Stevie Wonder, Angela Winbush, Donnie Hathaway and Minnie Ripperton in the city described as the vanguard of soul, Cleveland Ohio. She has been singing since the age of five and later attended the famed Cleveland School Of The Performing Arts, a school that produced fellow alumnus, Avant. Conya went on to be a leading member of the Cleveland duo Lyrik comprised of childhood friend Stacy Richardson who currently sings back up for Anthony Hamilton. It was with Lyrik where she honed her writing skills contributing to such artist as pop group 3LW. She has also worked with the likes of R&B Soul musics heir apparent, Gerald Levert and super producers Tony Nicholas and Myron Davis along with Paul Allen Of PAJAM. This divergence of soul music that pulls from the influences of the past while establishing a nu is what Conya was born to do. Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill, Eric Roberson and now Conya Doss are the leaders of this NuSoul Movement! (myspace profile) Dj Quest95: I am standing here wit the lovely neo soul artist Conya Doss. Whats going on?

Conya Doss: Right now I am currently promoting my album “ Love Rain Down” and I am on tour. I am in the studio working on my fourth album. You can expect a lot of soul on this one. DjQuest95: You know that I am your number one fan. Your music elevates to a level where people don’t even think that you are from Cleveland. I know that you get a lot of love from Cleveland, The Midwest, NY, and Toronto. What shows have you done in Cleveland? Conya Doss: I did the black family fun day at the Karabu house and I have received an award for the red star of soul. I am planning on performing at the HOB. I am trying to expand my performances in Cleveland because I don’t have a lot of shows here. DjQuest95: Well we hope to change that. Are you performing tonight or are you just nominated? Conya Doss: I am just nominated. DjQuest95: Well we have to change something here tonight. Well people you have heard it here first. This is the super dupper soulful songstress Conya Doss.

Myspace.com/conyadoss Conya Doss: Everything is everything! Dj Quest95: Now I know you and me go way back. But I need you to let the people know what you have going on.

RAY CASH DjQuest95: We are here with Ray Cash. He has two projects out right now. The first one is the “Feds” and the second one is known as “The Burning River”. Tell me a little about the projects. Ray Cash: Awh man “the Feds in town” that is just a statement. I got a lot of friends locked up right now. They just took my right hand man from me. So that is what I am talking about. I got to let y’all know that what I’m talking about “08 Live From The Burning River”. Do your research and you will see why I named it that. It’s all about where I am from. Dj Quest95: There it is. You have definitely been a force in the underground movement. You were real big in Spit Boxing, the underground, the mixtapes, and then you got the record deal and blew up! As far as I am concerned you are setting a new trend for a lot of the artists that are out there right now. They can see how hard work and dedication can move you forward. Do you have any words for the cats that are still out there on the grind looking for that record deal? Ray Cash: Its all about luck and GOD Nah Mean. Like whatever you can do in your power do it. But don’t force it. This game ain’t meant for everybody but if you blessed enough to get it take it.

Take advantage of everything. Bottom line is that it is all about that gwup. Don’t sell your soul. I wasn’t even really into rap until they started talking numbers. That got me thinking Damn! Maybe I am alright. Its all about GOD’s plan. Dj Quest95: That is definitely a positive message that you are giving out right here. You got anything you want to say to your fans? Ray Cash: Whassup Baby! Recognize real street game. We do this Nah Mean. I brought it back. I brought back to the city. Now it is a positive vibe. Now everybody wants to shoot for this. Lets go get it. Lets make a run for the Midwest. Dj Quest95: That was Mr. Bumpin my music. Myspace.com/raycash

Dj Quest95: We got my man the super producer. The busiest man in Cleveland Mr. Rude boy Casino Joe. Casino Joe: Whassup with it baby? Dj Quest95: What you got going on in Cleveland. Any nee projects?

Dj Quest95: Well Ladies and gentlemen it is up to you to put Joe where he is supposed to be.

Eddie Bauer: Ha Ha. Dj Quest95: I am glad to see you back up here in C-town. Eddie Bauer: It is definitely good to be back here. We came up to host the event tonight. I am really excited. I brought a lot of people from the Natti. I brought my man Hi-Tek here with me so we are doing it real big Nah Mean. Dj Quest95: You know man I am really glad to see you. We miss you on the radio.

Casino Joe

CHARLES REED Charles Reed wants to more than ever inspire the people through song like the personal influences he has had in his life like the late great Gerald Levert and his older cousin Avant. Mr. Reed is also a songwriter, model, dancer, singer, and actor. He has performed in stage plays such as: “Westside Story” as Tony (2003), “The Marvin Gaye Story” as young Marvin (2001), and “Once On This Island” as Papa Ge (the demon of death)(2001). He has also done independent films such as “One”(2000), “Kane and Able” (2001), and “Bend Don’t Shatter” (2005). Charles Reed has covered many miles performing with his family. Mr. Reed is still growing and learning new things everyday. He is amazingly talented, growing individual artist. His smooth vocals, flexibility, and tenacity to be great will lead him to nothing other than success. (myspace profile) Dj Quest95: We are standing here with Charles Reed. Charles Reed: I got my single coming out called: “One, Two”. I am the newest face of R&B. I am up for best male vocalist. I am facing my boss Mr. Joe Little. But, we are definitely going to get it in at the OHHA. Dj Quest95: So tell me what do you have going on?

Charles Reed: I am actually doing it all. I have worked with a bunch of different artists. I live in Miami now but I still represent the “Land”. I am already nominated in other award shows but tonight its all about Ohio Hip Hop Awards. Dj Quest95: So you are going up against big brotha Joe? So its an label competition. This is going to be a big one tonight. Myspace.com/charlesreed

DAVE TOLLIVER DjQuest95: We got my man right here that I know from way back. We used to go to high school together. He is pushing his new project and I want him to tell you a little about it. Dave Tolliver: Whassup everybody! We (MEN AT LARGE) have the new album coming out called “Back On Top” We are trying to bring the love back to music. We are trying to bring back the real R&B because you know every song that people are jamming to right now is a stripper anthem. The real deal is that everybody can’t “Pop Lock’n Drop It”. Everybody can’t “Yule”. You know cats got artificial limbs you know what I am saying. But you can always tell that someone how you feel about them. The new album is out right now. I am also nominated for best male vocalist. If I don’t win tonight I am going to pull my Kanye West. I want everybody to know that! Dj Quest95: Hell Naw! Dave Tolliver: I am going to take my shirt off and go up on stage and pull my Kanye West! Dj Quest95: I heard that you are also suppose to do a tribute to Gerald Levert.

Dj Quest95: I have a quick question that I have been asking all the artists. I your opinion what are the differences or similarities between rap and hip hop? Dave Tolliver: Hip-hop is the culture, way of life. Some rap is good some rap is bad right now I am saying that it time to switch gears and change the pace right now. If you want me to get political and serious about then in my opinion we are dumbing down our kids man and we are loosing them. Its already enough that the educational system is horrible. The parents are not teaching them at home we can’t just fault the educational system but we keep making these same records that keep making our kids stupider and stupider. Like Soulja Boy. Don’t get me wrong I like the song. I can “Superman” but what is he really saying? What is “Wah me yule”? If you cant rap and put words together dramatically, phonetically, lyrically, or if you can’t sing for real then you don’t deserve a record deal. I don’t care how many six packs you got. How light skinned and pretty or how big your ass is. I am just saying. There are some ugly cats in the game. It should really be about the art and it is time to really take it back. I know that there is a lot of people that really believe in the art but the art form is a lost culture right now. That is what we are really trying to do with this project. Myspace.com/davetolliver

Dave Tolliver: Me and Joe Little are going to do a tribute to Gerald Levert. 20

Mz. SKITTLEZ Skittlez now know for the diversity in her songs and her remarkable commitment to such an art has put her name at the tip of everyone's tongue in her surroundings. A marvel, sagacious, eminent, lovely with a firm personality, Mz. Skittlez is recognized for her new and unique in-your-face lyrical style. Skittlez most commonly known for her unique style, puchlines and metaphores she uses in her music has got her name buzzing the streets all over the state of Ohio. A rarity among the current teenage rappers, the soulful voice is eager to bring something fresh for your ears. (myspace profile) Dj Quest95: Check it out I have found me a hot little multi-colored, rainbow flavored dime piece. Ladies and gentlemen I would like to introduce to you Mz. Skittlez Cleveland’s own little hot bag of joy right here. Please tell us about your next project. Skittlez: My next project is called “Controversy” of course, because my name stays buzzing like a bee so I had to name the album controversy. There are so many rumors going on about me. So much information in the streets supposedly about me so I had to name my Cd “Controversy” and dedicate it to my fans. So that is my next project and it drops

today! Dj Quest95: I have to ask; Why is everyone always on you? What did you do? Did you threaten somebody? What is going on? Skittlez: I have no idea. I don’t actually know. They say that I am a stripper, They say that I got kids. It has to be said that I am a different breed. You know that my father is Art McCoy so you know he raised me right. I think that they just like to hate on me. I don’t have beef out there with anybody. So if you listening I don’t have beef with you, you, you, or you! So just keep my name out of your mouth. I think that it is the way that I rap. I am the only girl that is out there doing it. I am the only female out there doing the “Cappin” thing that is why I call myself the Queen. I do call myself the flyest lady in Cleveland so maybe that is why ladies hate, so I like it. Dj Qurst95: Ok she say she like it. She is gonna call it like she see it. She gonna put it in a bag and wrap it up. She gonna do it the way she like and wanna do it so check it out. She is also nominated for best female artist and best live performance. myspace.com/lilskittlesclevelandsfine st.com

From the beginning, Nicole Rhodes, a.k.a, "Notice," has been a person that has been a pacesetter rather that a follower. In January of 2007, "Notice" reemerged on the music scene with the album single, "On the flo'." She immediately began to flood the streets her new song while performing at shows for audiences around the region. Within a couple months, Nicole has accomplished more than the average performer could have with a year head start! The single, "On the flo'," has received national airplay in Detroit, Florida, and in Cleveland, OH. The uncut video (included with the CD) has been aired on Cinemax and she is in the process of launching her record label, Scream at me records. Vocally speaking, there is not another artist that can measure up to her diversity. She combines singing and hip-hop lyricism into a style, called "Swagga Funk," that purely captivates you. This unique blend of styles accompanied with her rich, soulful voice demands listeners to simply take "Notice." (La’Herm Patterson)
