Behind The Scenes of Theatre West : Into The Woods Samantha Croco ‘22 (The Baker’s Wife) “I went into the show so stressed and uncertain if we could pull it off. However the cast grew super close and rehearsals became the highlights of my day because of them. I am so incredibly proud to be a part of such a creative and difficult show. The cast, crew and directors put so much time and energy into it so we were able to put our best work out there for everyone. Covid has prevented everyone from having a normal year, especially the arts and I’m so happy that we were able to have a show.” Photo by Owen Aanestad
Tess DeGrazia, ‘23 (Little Red) “We had to face a lot of issues with weather, especially with it being spring! It was an obstacle at times but nothing we couldn’t overcome. Clear masks were an odd adjustment for the whole cast, seeing everyone’s faces did help with our bonding, which was an interesting thing we noticed but in the end it was perfect. The final experience was really really cool, the set was wonderful and doing a show outside was an experience i’ll never forget.” Photo by Owen Aanestad
Niyati Deshpande ‘21 (Cinderella) “This experience is definitely one that I will remember for a very long time. It was memorable for me not only because of COVID but because of the wonderful people I became friends with, the incredible opportunity I was given to play Cinderella, and the way everyone came together for a common goal and had so much passion for it. It was so refreshing to see people have so much drive to make the show happen during a year of lots of sadness and I’m super grateful to have experienced something like it.” Photo by Caroline Barker
