Framing In the picture of my dad and Teddy (above), my dad is trying to take his glasses back. Being the rambunctious daughter I am, I insisted he let me use his glasses. He wasn’t too happy about it, but I got a nice picture out of it. To the right are Olivia’s shoes. They’re sneaker wedges, which I personally dislike. But, you know, whatever works.

To the left is photo of the biannual photos my church takes (photoception). My face looks like it’s melting in the immediate left picture. At the bottom is an out-of-focus Olivia and multiple in focus copies of The Odyssey, both of which take a very intelligent individual to identify with.

Shutter speed &Iso For the top shutter speed picture, I positioned my camera in front of my mirror so that I could see the screen in the mirror and then I shook my head wildly while pressing the shutter. For the bottom shutter speed picture, Lucy was waving her arms wildly and I got this adorable picture. For the two pictures at right, I simple set the ISO really high and took picture of lights because they were the only thing that would show up and they look

Portraiture My mom was super concentrated on talking to another woman when I took this photo. She said she didn’t like it because of her wrinkles, but I think they’re a great testament to the hard work she puts into raising my brother and me. They’re the real sign of a rich woman whose riches came from hard work. My dog, Teddy, is at the left. Teddy loves food.

LINES In the bottom left is photo of a xylophone leading to a puzzle thing. Once, my dad tried to teach my dogs how to play the xylophone by playing it for them and then placing it in their pen. He just stood there expecting them to pick up the mallet and start playing. In the top left is some bread that I like to eat.

LIGHT If you look closely, you can see that my hand has some kind of red residue on it in the photo to the right. That was there because my friend needed fake blood for her Romeo and Juliet project and I was not aware that KoolAid powder can stain literally anything. I thought the picture to the left was cool because it was ironic. Like, light is supposed to brighten, but none of the room was illuminated.

PERSPECTIVE Those leather shoes above are my favorite pair of shoes. They used to be my mom’s, but she never wore them, so they’re mine now, sort of like the rest of her closet. The light covering to the right is an antique my dad bought. He has a bit of an addiction to buying antiques. We have about 500 pieces of glassware, an old record player, a bunch of doilies, a horse tapestry (like, why?), and a bajillion other old things my dad thought were worth buying but actually weren’t. FREE FORM Above is a picture of a hot pot. My family had eaten hot pot at least five times that week already, so by the third time I had found inspiration in the flame. At left is a meal I usually eat on Friday nights.

FREE FORM Above is my dad. He sings Chinese folk songs in public and loves fish. Despite his oddities, I love him. To the left is the lid to the hot pot pot. It’s sort of weird that I have two pictures of it because we rarely ever eat hot pot. We only eat it about four times a year, but that week I guess my mom was craving it. She makes most of the decisions regarding me and just about everything else.
