Framing Nate Armento ‘17 was pictured in both photos. In the bottom photo, I use the brick columns as frames. In the photo on the right, I use the window as a frame. These pictures were taken on January 29, 2014 at West High School.

These pictures capture Dillon Crowell ‘17 in midst of many actions. Using a higher shutter speed, I can capture him in the middle of the action without any blurryness. These pictures were taken February 1, 2014. Due to the higher shutter speed, the aperture was quite low so I had to use Photoshop to increase the brightness.

SHUTTER SPEED, APERTURE, ISO FEBRUARY 2014 7
The photos on the left side capture the same action, but using different shutter speeds. The higher one captures a higher shutter speed, so it isn’t as blurry. However, since the shutter speed is higher, the aperture is lower therefore the photo seems “darker.” The photo on the right was a fun photo that I decided to take that captured a moment using high shutter speed. It features Dillon Crowell ‘17 punching Dylan Hendricks ‘16.

Portraiture On both pictures, I capture inspirational shots of Dillon Crowell ‘17 (left) and Jimin Jung ‘25 (above) looking away into the distance. Dillon Crowell was photographed in West High’s library and Jimin Jung was photographed in my house.

LIGHT The photo on the left was an interesting photo I decided to take that incorporates light by keeping the focus on the monkey by using a dark room and the light is shining on the monkey. The photo above was a picture of a beautiful sunset that I saw on my way back from DeKalb, Illinois.

PErspectivePages 1 These shots are taken from a unique perspective. For the photo below, I stood up on West High’s own flagpole and took a photo of West High’s trees.
For the photo on the right, it showcases Jimin Jung working hard from a bird’s eye view.
